Life in Dystopia
In a world mouthful of lies
And people disguising as butterflies,
justice will never survive,
the uproar of killing other’s worthy lives.
The truth, hiding from tyranny and injustice
Killed by voracious people and unending malice
Desolation and despair fills this blissful world I knew
The truth should set us free, but no
Deceits and corruption striking us
Had a scarce hope which had changed our anthem
But a societal disease gave us a greater headache
I hope that. this. will. eventually. come. to. an end.
Desolated and shattered worlds collide
and we, should lay down and see what’s inside
We all should set foot to end this turbulence
And that will make all the difference.

Outside the Dog: Another Man' s bestfriend
“Outside the dog, a book is man’s bestfriend. Inside the dog it’s too dark to read” - Groucho Marx
Even without a plane ticket, we can go to places through reading. Just like what Roald Dahl said, a lovely bookshelf can replace a bulky TV Set in its place. Reading can also be an addiction but I consider it a good kind of addiction because in it you will gain new knowledge, transcend boundaries and value realizations.
Strange Tools narrated this addiction. An addiction for the love of literature; not children’s fiction but adult ones. The author clearly showed his unconditional love for books. Through this, I was able to pick up precious lessons. This essay taught me to keep on learning. Keep following through and read. It is through reading, that I get to know culture of other places and lifestyle as well. The persona in the story narrated event his love for reading that even playing cannot surpass. He’s eagerness to read everyday is exemplary. He is patient in hopes of gaining something.
It also taught me to be curious. Asking questions is not a sin, and through this piece I deeply understood that opening the doors of my mind while reading makes me curious on discovering things related to what am I reading. In this excerpt were anecdotes that were compiled for the sake of inspiring others to read and get what they deserve to.
Lastly, it taught me to treat books as my best friend. Friends are commonly animate, but this essay told me that anything can be your best friend as long as their is comfort between your bond. And I think that is what’s reading for. Reading is for connecting the author and the reader. The author begins the story and the reader ends it. The author gives life to the book and it makes everyone find a reason to keep on driving because life like reading is a journey.

How to Save a life?
“Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend somewhere along in the bitterness, and I would have stayed up with you all night had I known how to save a life.”
Parallel to the plot of From Mother with love, the anime Orange is an ideal depiction of saving a life. Flashbacks and foreshadowing became a vital element in understanding the essence of the plot. In connection with this, the story provided the audience tons of lessons regarding true friendship. Orange is one of the testaments that giving is better than receiving.
The anime is set in contemporary Japanese landmarks. Its plot centered on a group of friends (Naho and her company) saving the life of their friend (Kakeru) who is going to die. Through unity and love they had for their friend, the mission was accomplished. The story weaves what happens to teenage Naho and adult Naho as time progress. Most of the episode’s happenings were set in Naho’s high school years.
As for Kakeru, whose life and death depends on one notion, his shy character who had been experienced the death of her mother due to the fact that he joined the football team without his consent when actually his friends convinced him to do so. Orange showed valor and sacrifice at its finest; doing what would benefit all. This anime clearly showed what are friends for, may it be in good times or bad times.
As the story progress, the pursuit to saving a life also developed. Through this, the bond of the friends became stronger. As a matter of fact some of them became married with each other. Moreover, the story, though impossible, presented how true friends cannot live with the loss of the other.

On tasting life's bitterness and bliss
“Life is bliss, taste it; life is a challenge, meet it; life is too precious, do not destroy it.” - Life Is.. by Mother Theresa
Our pasts are bounded by moments that gradually became memories, and this, in turn, would be worth sharing. These memories could entertain other people and inspire them to patronize eagerness as well.
Life is such a challenge to all of us, as well as to prominent individuals in the business industry. Through his speech in a commencement exercises, Steve Jobs shared a handful of anecdotes which implored me. It is like a book of advice from a person who had tasted a dose of bitter-sweet medicine in the depths of his life.
Abysses are normally part of an escape plan to be free from problems. People nowadays resort to suicide as their hopes in finding peace. However, the speech offered a concrete plan of surviving life and discovering its wonders: find what you love. Don’t settle because you will find it gradually. It is through it that everything will follow. It is our passion and not just simply job. In addition, due to the pursuit of human to finding success swiftly, the competition just got better and those impatient ones give up. Nevertheless, life is about discerning the future through connecting the past like connecting the stars.
It is in life that we find ourselves up for the challenge. However, the speech made me realize that life is not just about going through the needle hole, it is also about how you live it. Steve Job’s gave his readers/audience a handful of advice in valuing life and caring for its essence. I was touched by those three stories and by reading it, it gave me a glimpse of living a life like a wheel. Though it is hard, it is great. Most importantly, the speech gave an overview of time’s value towards our lives. Time which had past can be called history and the present is but another challenge on how we are going to live it.

....And they lived happily ever after!
The ending of the story by Leo Tolstoy God sees the truth but waits implies that the author seem to be exhausted of finishing the story, that is, in my own opinion. Therefore, to relieve my melancholy about this, the ending should be happy. The story killed my emotions twice. First when Ivan was framed. Second when justice was served when he was already dead. For me, the ending that this story deserves is pretty much simple.
To start with, Makar Seymonich has been charged with the cases that must have been for him. On the other side, Ivan has been freed from jail but does not know where his family is. To his surprise, his family came in Siberia. Along with the bliss he got after a very long time spent in jail, they went home. There he found out the drastic changes that the family had gone into. His children were now middle-aged men. Their business is still flourishing. Despite this, Ivan still feels that something is missing. Their bond as a family has weakened. The time that should be for his family was spent inside a four corner jail. Nevertheless, he was happy of what has happened and he never thought that God given him more years to spent with his family.
After 10 years, Ivan died. Makar then perished in jail but Ivans’ words made him realize to repent and live the rest of his life doing righteous things. On the other hand, Ivan’s child was going to another fair with a merchant. The next day, a news spread that his child was in jail for murdering a merchant.
My thoughts after reading the story are summed up into this:

A Story Crafted From Hand and Heart
The death of a loved one always make us feel despaired. The anxiety of losing someone who had played an important role in your life is hard to overcome. The story From Mother With Love portrayed the situation of overcoming this feeling. Moreover, it showed the difficulty of accepting someone’s fate. It also highlighted the unconditional love of a mother to her child. From Mother with Love captures all of the drama and desperation of a young girl caught in a difficult situation from her unique perspective.
The story revolved around Minta and her ill mother, Mary. Minta and her father knew that Mary would die in 3 months. Hence, they did not let her know about it and just spent the remainder of their lives being happy and pretending not to know about it. When her mother died, Minta was going through her things and discovered wrapped Christmas gifts. She then knew that her mother knew that she was going to die. Knowing this, her mother left a letter for Minta explaining to take care of her father and a gift (hand-me-down sweater). With this, Minta felt responsible for the household and helped her father in overcoming the melancholic death of their household head.
With the development of the story, the conflict was deeply unfolded and resolved through a plot twist. The emotional attachment among the characters was also revealed as the plot developed. It provided the common scenarios among the closeness of Filipino family members. The story sets a reminder for everyone to value their time with their loved ones. Furthermore, it became a catalyst for its readers to realize that life has an ending and we cannot escape from it. The story is crafted with one thing in the author’s mind: to get into the emotions of its readers.

A not so good Friday
I do not except anything special yesterday. In fact, I didn't even knew it was a Friday the 13th. Moreover, I do not experience any mishaps everytime this 'special' day occurs. Nevertheless, yesterday was different. Many pranks were played on me and I was subconcious about it. Even though it's not a mishap, I was pissed about it. #justsayin'

Turns out this day is not good to me
I found myself outraged when I found my wallet sewed with a scratch paper by my good classmate. It seems winning in a Monopoly game will not make me happy after all.
