aaronxelias:
Aaron nodded as he listened to the other man speak about himself and his work. Talking about oneself was difficult for many people, but Aaron had perfected the elevator speech. It gave him the power to frame the way someone looked at and thought of him and he planned to always use that to his advantage. “I’m the CEO and Cofounder of Titan Tech. We’re a cyber security firm. I’ve been in town for less than a year heading up our newest branch, but I was born and raised on the west coast. I spent some time on the west coast. Mostly bouncing between Philadelphia and New York City when I was a teen, but now I’m back home.” He brought the mug of beer to his lips and took a sip before setting it back down, his hand still wrapped around it. “What got me interested in meeting you,” he repeated, fingers drumming a rhythm on the side of the mug. “I’ve always wanted to be Daddy Warbucks.” The answer was accompanied by a crooked half grin. Did that make him sound like a man with too much money and no idea how to spend it? Probably. “Truth be told, I know nothing about the film industry. There are a lot of things I do know. I won’t ever deny that.” Aaron wasn’t one to talk himself down; humility had never really been one of the things he’d been taught. “Ask me about computers and firewalls. I could almost wax poetic, but the process of creating a film? Nothing. I do have a gift for recognizing talent, though. I want my name to go down in the history books so when I find something good, you can bet that I’m going to invest in it.”
Tumblr media
Jayden furrowed his brows at Aaron’s reference and it took him a hot second to realize that this thirty-something man had just made an Annie reference... out of all the things he could refer to, he referred to Annie... goddamn annoying Annie the orphan and her daddy Warbucks. “I would’ve expected you to be--I don’t know... Scrooge McDuck or maybe even Christian Grey since people seem to link him to everything under the sun, but... daddy Warbucks, really?” Jayden laughed a little as he scratched the back of his neck. Maybe he shouldn’t be speaking like that to a potential sponsor, but he figured that if he wasn’t himself, then this guy would smell it in him. He’d never been really good at pretending to be something he was not. “Kudos on the reference, though.”
As Aaron spoke about himself, he simply bobbed his head along to make sure the other man knew he was following his words and then took a swig from his beer. “I get it. I mean... I know the very basic about computers. I know how to edit my movies on them. I know how to install and uninstall things, but that’s pretty much it. My ex is usually the one I go to about these things.” At the mention of talent, Jayden figured that it took one to know one. Maggie wouldn’t point Aaron to Jayden if she didn’t think he was more than just a wealthy guy. “See, that’s me. I can sit here and talk about movies and the many ways to make their many genres. I can talk about camera angles and lighting all day long, so yeah... I get it, Aaron. As for ambition, believe me.. I have it too. I have this project for a documentary about Aderall that I started back when I still in college. Are you looking for a doc or a fiction to get behind?”

Andrew was on the phone with his sister when the first drop of rain hit. And it wasn’t much longer until it seemed to pick up quite a bit. He told Ashley he’d called her back as he found a little shelter under an awning before getting too drenched. And oddly enough, he ended up finding himself sharing that shelter with his cousin as Jayden joined shortly after. “Excuse me. I was here first.” Andrew crossed his arms with a smile. “Yeah, I thought it would hold off until later. Apparently not. But come on, seriously?” He looked down at himself and ran a hand through his damp hair. “A few more rain drops aren’t gonna make a difference.”
Tumblr media
“Fucking hell, Hale! First you come to my city and now you’re trying to steal my awning too?” Jayden shook his head, playfully shoving his cousin to the side, but not strong enough to make him step out of the awning and end up getting caught by the rain again. He watched Andrew for a moment there, clearly drenched and shook his head. “Seriously though... could you be more of a disaster?” He teased, laughing a little. “Don’t go getting sick on me, alright?”

When one of his co-workers told Jayden there was someone looking for him, he figured it was either Maggie or Andrew who had decided to come into set and spend some time with him, hence why he told his co-worker to tell said person to meet him in the working room where Jayden was reviewing the pages of that script, in order to help out with the production of Chasing Destiny’s final episode of the season. While he actually enjoyed working there, Jayden couldn’t wait for hiatus so he could focus on his own projects and his own creations. Especially since now he had someone willing to step in with enough money to bump up production.
He wasn’t expecting to see Graham walking past the door, which intrigued him even more. The last time they’d spent some time together, Jayden had ended up punching the blonde man. An act he later explained to Maggie and well--he figured she understood. “What are you doing here?” He asked and was met with an invitation to grab something to eat. While he wanted to say no, the mere mention of lunch caused his stomach to grumble. “Why, though? You want me to punch you again or something?”
Tumblr media
Gray winced faintly as he felt along the bruise near his eye. It wasn’t his brightest idea, offering for Jayden to punch him but atleast the day had gone well afterwards. Magdalena had explained why, told him that Jayden had stepped in when he wasn’t there. It pained him knowing the man got to do the things he missed out on, the things he’d wanted to do. But it was his own fault for not pushing harder.
Stepping into the Studio he asked the man nearby where to go. He figured it was about time he and Jayden talked, maybe came to a truce. Gray wanted to be in Cara’s life and Jay would always have his place there so they would have to see more of eachother. Nodding as he knocked on the door to the room Jay was in her offered the man a smile. “Uh hey..was hoping I could treat you to lunch”

The rain seemed to come out of nowhere. That was probably lack of attention on Ethan’s part versus lack of warning signs, but she was caught in the middle of it before she’d noticed the change in weather. The awning was the first thing she could find to duck under to avoid a downpour and that was just what she’d did – at about the same time Jayden had the same idea. “I don’t think I would’ve noticed if you did,” she laughed, ringing the front of her shirt out. She wasn’t soaked, just damp, but another a few more drops of water wouldn’t be enough to worry about. Not when she’d already been in it. “Was it supposed to rain today? I don’t keep an eye on the forecast like I used to.”
Tumblr media
He recognized Ethan from their last conversation, which involved a serious debate on Toy Story and he found it amusing to have encountered her in such unpleasant occasion, but at least, since they were stuck there, he figured they could chat again to pass the time. “I don’t usually check the forecast, so you’re even more dedicated than I am. I just leave my apartment and leave the rest up to fate.” He told her with humor. “How you’ve been, Ethan?”

Lucas loved his bike, if he could make enough money to buy a new vehicle he probably would use it just to pimp his bike, but he definitely wasn’t rather fan of the rain when it came to driving around his bike, as the rain got heavier, he simply parked and protected himself from the rain and the first free stop he could, he was waiting and making sure his bike was okay when  he saw another man followed him and protect him at the same spot. “Nah, it okay, you didn’t don’t worry. And yeah, I enjoy the rain only when I’m at home at midnight, now it just makes me stop and the worst part is afterward I have to dry my ride before driving again or get wet either way.”
Tumblr media
“It’s hard to wake up when it’s raining through the evening though...” Jayden butted in with a light chuckle escaping his lips. He’d always been a heavy sleeper, hence why he had lots and lots of different alarm clocks on his phone, just in case his first didn’t work. “Maybe dry off just the seat though? That doesn’t seem to be a lot of work...”

James smiles as Jayden makes his way in. “I’m glad I opted to pick it up on the way home then. Got your favorite per usual.” Pulling the containers out of the bag he set it out for Jayden to help himself. “Got beers too, they are in the fridge.” His shoulders roll faintly, “Not bad, its kind of weird picking up more hours there, getting back into the schedule but its good to be around the crew again. How about you? I heard you’ve got a few things lined up”
Tumblr media
“My hero...” Jayden brought his hands together with a clap, before rubbing them against one another as he moved closer to James, watching him pulling the containers out of the bag. His mouth watered with each container as their scent filled the kitchen, making Jay’s stomach growl. “Best roommate ever. Please don’t leave me. Who else would fill my fridge with beers and be this nice to me?” Since his family wasn’t close to him, Jayden tended to surround himself with good people and some of them ended up being his closest friends. Those seemed to be the family he needed. “Weird how?” Jayden averted his eyes to James as he picked a fork and stabbed a thin slice of meat from their Yam Nua. “And yeah man.. I’m leaving for France soon, and then this friend of Maggie’s decided to sponsor my next project, so I’ll enter the full pre-production mode soon.”

Oh no, oh no, oh no. No, not now, rain!! Kaira thought as she glared at the dark clouds as she opened the door to the cafe and remembered that she didn’t have her umbrella with her. “Not real-” she started to answer before she felt the first raindrops on her head. “I did, just now,” she said with a pout.
Tumblr media
Jayden furrowed his brows, slightly confused as he watched the other woman in the rain. “You can always step out of the rain...” He said as he stepped to the side, giving her even more space to stand under the awning.

tessapienaar:
Theresa had her arms crossed in front of her chest while she would continue staring at the rain in front of her, of course the weather would be against her plans for that night. Finally when she had a day off, she couldn’t even reach the location she had planned to head to in order to get to know a guy she met online, it seemed ironic to say the least. Or maybe, that was for the best. She was living inside her head, creating scenarios, overthinking the moment someone approached her. “Oh… no, you didn’t…” she replied, “but yes, maybe I should’ve predicted something like this would happen but I went out of my apartment without an umbrella and well, it seems to me we’ll be stuck here for awhile.”
Tumblr media
Jayden smiled as he recognized his neighbor standing under the same covered space as him. It’d been unfortunate they they’d both been caught by the rain, but at least, Theresa seemed pleasant enough by the brief interactions that they’d had. “It’s not like I can blame you. I’ve been living here my whole life and I still haven’t learned to keep an umbrella with me during spring. I hope the rain hadn’t ruined your plans though...” Not that he would ask or that he expected her to tell him of her plans, but whatever they were, Jay really hoped they hadn’t been ruined by the weather. “If anything, I can always try and make life less shitty by inviting you for food... Nothing beats food to make the day better.” Since they’ve lived on the same building for a while, Jay didn’t think it’d be weird to propose that.

He laughed as well “I’m trying to figure out how to make it happen, so don’t make any plans just in case.” He commented. “It does, but don’t you want to come to a probably non-existent taco fiesta?”
Tumblr media
“What if I don’t make plans and the taco fiesta doesn’t happen? That’s not very convincing...” Although Jayden let out a breathless chuckle, he still shook his head. It wasn’t like he was going to be making any plans, but it still seemed unrealistic to keep himself on hold for something that might not happen. “Not really, though...” He laughed a bit.

(-- @mjxbrooks
Still feeling rather jetlagged, the first thing Jayden did once he arrived back in Westwick from Cannes was to check in on Maggie. Since he wasn’t exactly close to his family safe for his cousin Andrew, Magdalena had always been his safe harbor. He sent a text to her, announcing his arrival and then stepped under the shower for a much-needed and reinvigorating shower. Once he was out, he sent James a text too and, since Maggie had asked to see him because she wanted to ask him something, he figured he could take her out for lunch, which was better than showing up with coffee and nothing else. With his money running short, he didn’t have enough to buy anyone souvenirs, so he thought that lunch was better than nothing.
After letting in on his plans with her, Jayden threw on some comfortable clothes and made his way to his best friend’s office. He knocked twice and let himself in when Maggie allowed him. With a smile on his face, he took her in his arms in the biggest bear hug he could muster and planted a kiss on her cheek. “How’s my favorite girl doing?” Throughout his trip, he kept sending her as many pictures as possible, especially from whoever he could see that was famous. Honestly, he felt like a child in a candy store. “You done here, Maggie? Let’s grab something to eat and then you can tell me what you wanted to tell me...”

Jayden’d been in the living room watching a documentary when the front door opened and James stepped in. He hadn’t realized his last meal had been a banana around 3pm onset, but now that the smell of food filled his apartment, Jayden felt his mouth water and his stomach grumble. He moved his hands off the coffee table and pulled his headphones from his ears before heading to the kitchen. “I’m fine with pretty much anything at this point...” He laughed softly, shaking his head. “You were at the Fire Station? How was it?”
Tumblr media
James rubbed the back of her neck as he made his way up the steps to the apartment, bag of food in the other hand. He’d promised Jayden he’d pick up something to eat on the way home, give them a chance to catch up. Despite being roommates since they weren’t on set anymore and he’d picked up hours at the Fire Station they seemed to only see eachother in passing. He couldn’t help but wonder what his friend was up to.
Unlocking the door he stepped inside and set the food on the counter. “Hey man. I hope you are good with Chinese. I’ve been craving those little crab things. Whatever they are called”

Camilla nodded in agreement. “I mean, that is definitely the responsible way to go about it. And, I agree, but I think going on dates can be fun, just not dating, you know?” Well, fun or a mess, it went both was with online dating from her experience. “I mean, I’ve been to some pretty awesome carnivals in Texas so my standards are pretty high,” she joked. “But I’m still probably going to check it out. Might as well see what all of the talk is about. Yeah, I go by Cami. It’s nice to meet you, Jayden.”
Tumblr media
“You think so?” Jayden asked curiously. It wasn’t like he was judging her choices--people were entitled to their opinions, he could simply agree or disagree with them. “I think dates are so much work though? You have to be your best self for an entire day, while dating comes with both good and the bad sides, I guess.” He shrugged. He was definitely not expecting to be discussing these things, but a good distraction was welcomed. “I’m heading there tomorrow if you want to come. Sadly, tonight I’m keeping you company here.” Jayden teased, offering her a little smirk.

isaac-lodge:
It was somewhere around four o’clock when Sack had woken up from the nap he’d been taking in his trailer. He’d set an alarm on his cell phone that was meant to go off before he was needed back on the lot but it was more than an hour before it was due and Isaac was wide awake now. He’d kept himself entertained by playing a mindless video game but soon enough, he’d grown tired of that too. Inspired, he decided he was indeed of a little company to fulfill a project he had conjured in his overtired state and now, he was paging Jayden to haul his ass across the lot to Isaac’s trailer.
“Yeah, hey, thanks for coming,” he stated, standing up, his cell phone was placed on a surface nearby, camera facing their way. “Can’t get this locker open, don’t know what happened, it was fine this morning,” referring to yesterday, of course, as it was already this morning. He’d rigged a set up that was unlikely to impress Kevin McAllister but if he got his timing right, it would surely entertain his Instagram followers. Inside the locker was a handful of pulling fireworks, ready to go off the moment Jayden yanked the door open. With a boyish smirk on his face, one that the actor attempted to disguise, he waited for the result, already picturing its online success in his head.
Tumblr media
It was almost like Jayden could sense what was happening. Isaac was the prankster on set and his fans loved it--they thought it was cute and most of the cast encouraged his actions, so of course Isaac thought it was okay to continue being a pain in the ass of the crew. No one would ever say anything because he was the star of Chasing Destiny, but Jayden’s patience was running low these days. “This one?” Jayden asked with certain disdain in his words as he approached the locker as he took a deep breath. After getting the confirmation from Isaac, Jayden yanked it open, which set off some fireworks. Although he was sort of expecting something like this would happy, Jayden was definitely not expecting fireworks, so it startled him a bit, causing him to step back with his brows up.
“Fireworks? Really, Isaac? It’s four in the morning, we’ve been working non-stop and you’re pulling this crap on people? I don’t know what they’ve told you, but it’s not cute. Especially not for a fully grown man like you.” Maybe because Jayden’d always had an old soul, so he definitely wasn’t a fan of pranks.”I could’ve gotten hurt--the fuck?”

“Wait--I’m invited to a taco fiesta that ain’t happening?” Jayden laughed softly as he shook his head. “Way to make me feel welcomed, Eric. But hey, at least working means money, so it’s not like it doesn’t have a good side to this whole thing.”

Jayden had always been quite the arrogant, which he sometimes called being picky, when it came to his line of work... that’s why sometimes it was hard to find a nice project to work on whenever he had some free time in his hands. He’d just finished reading yet another bland script when he noticed the skies darkening outside, so Jayden put his laptop back into his bag and rushed out of the café he’d be lounging at so he could try getting home before the rain would fall, but his plans ended up failing as he felt the first heavy drops of rain. By the time he reached a place protected by an awning, he’d already caught a little bit of rain so he decided to wait there until the rain had passed. Luckily for him, he wasn’t the only there. “The hell this weather, right? I didn’t get any rain on you, did I?”
