Zoom makeup Party!!!
I heard about many types of zoom parties where people celebrate special occasions or meet and greet but this is totally new to me.
Having what!!! A “virtual” Makeup Party!!! Wow.. This was one of a kind. I have been begging my friends to have this kind of zoom meeting where we play with Makeup and discover everyone’s favorite products and it finally happened. What a great idea. This was a real success. I encourage everyone who has friends who love makeup to try it out. We were five participants and one of us has two little girls who saw her applying lotion and decided to join us and they were so adorable and cute.
This picture shows my desk when I was preparing for this tutorial or party. I did some research and got the products I wanted to discuss ready. I didn’t expect my friends to show this much interest but they were amazingly involved. Even those who didn’t really use makeup on daily basis were so interested in learning about makeup and new products.
I shared with them my makeup routine for going to the park on a summer day where I wore my favorite BB cream with SPF 30, this was my Purlisse BB Cream in shade Medium.
I showed them how I apply it using my sponge or my brush depending on the coverage I want to achieve on that day. Purlisse formula works well for my skin and is oil free so it does not feel heavy on the skin. Transfer rate I would say 8 out of 10 so it counts as one of the good non-transferrable products especially in the time of masks.
I shared with them my favorite foundations that include SPF and are summer time friendly aka don’t feel too oily or greasy on the skin during the day.
We all prepped our skin with the day creams we have, used a primer, and I was surprised that some of my friends had primers in their collections but never used it or never knew what it is used for. We laughed a lot.
I used my CoverFX blurring primer which I would recommend for a dryer day as it does feel heavy on the skin but soothes the skin in an amazing way. And a little pearl goes a long way.
Another great primer that I love and re-purchased a few times, is from Wander Beauty, their facial Oil. It is called Wander Beauty Glow Ahead facial oil and is a bit costly, I get it for $45 on their website.
I used my hydrating concealer from Pretty Vulgar which is one of my favorite and most hydrating products that don’t crease in my under eye wrinkles.
We then moved on to the fun part... Powders... some of my friends never knew Bronzers existed and some didn’t know what to use them for. So we started by applying light powder under the eyes to set the concealer. I used my most favorite Becca Hyra-Mist Set and Refresh Powder. It is so fine and cooling when applied. I love it. At my age, 39, it works really well because the older we get the less powders we use as our face elasticity is less and we tend to have drier skin.
We applied our bronzers next. I used my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. I like it but not really a favorite. It is a bit light for my medium skin tone and has a strong scent. Sometimes, it breaks me out but I like its application a lot. We also applied it in the crease as we didn’t use eye-shadow. During summer I love a bronzy look with no glitters nor highlighters. Just bronzy everywhere.
For blush, I used my Ciate London, which I bought two as a back up of, because of how much I love it. It is the perfect formula and shade for me.
For the eyes, we kept it light, no eyeshadow, but little bit of Kohl in the outer corner on the lower lash line and Mascara for the top lashes. I used my Lancome Kohl Black liner and for Mascara, my go to, which is IT Cosmetics Superhero.
With that bronzy look, nude lips will work magic. I used my ABH liquid lipstick in Ashton with a Mocha liner. I like topping it with my Estee Lauder Intense Nude satin lipstick for some gloss on the top.
The look was lovely. One of my friends suggested we do brows but I didn’t really think it will support the natural look. She used Mac brow powder in Espresso and it looked nice.
As a conclusion, we truly enjoyed the party. We did what we like and learned from each other. I encourage everyone to find what you like and create a group of people with similar interest. Even during the quarantine you can still enjoy what you are doing. Have fun and fight the depression or loneliness. Don’t give up and look for besties even if they are far away. Online zoom works magic in connecting us. Good luck and don’t forget to share your makeup party experience with us.
