It only took me 40 years to decide what I wanted on my tombstone:
"Do you know who I think I am?"
I'll admit, it's not very original, but at least it's honest.

kill your heroes in their bed
kill them all until they're dead
don't love them but kill them all instead
because they were really only ever heroes
when they were who they were
when they were in your head

why is it that biological sex, which is actually biologically defined yet we are conditioned to recognize it based on secondary features, was challenged first; when challenging the idea of race, which actually is based on secondary features with no biologically defined characteristics, would actually have been progress towards unity?
is it because people might have been open to the scientific reality that there is only one human race, or species, which is homosapien, which consists of a myriad of continuously developing genotypes and that someone who looks different is not a different race but just a human being that looks different; if they had not first been conditioned that challenging the established sociopolitical narrative is wrong, dangerous, and divisive?

In the end, perhaps the demarcation of childhood and adult is the realization that no one whom you consider an adult has any better grasp on ultimate objective truth than whom you consider a child, save the decision to believe in something.
