um actually grover underwood is the bravest character because when percy and annabeth left for college, they drove from new york to san fran. coast to coast. and grover went with them. this dude willingly went on a long road trip with his two best friends who are in a relationship. you would not catch me dead going on a road trip with just 2 people who are dating. and 18 year olds nonetheless?? oh hell no

remember how every time in cotg when percy and annabeth flirt and kiss, grover gets so uncomfortable? how the FUCK did he enclose himself in a car with them for that long? and yes i KNOW grover is their best friend. and i KNOW he is used to them, and they are all gonna be a close trio forever. but that doesn’t mean that this road trip didn’t include many moments that made him WIDLY uncomfortable. he hasn’t been on a long extended adventure with them since before they started dating. (that we know of.) like… were percy and annabeth making flirtatious jokes with each other during the drive? were they playing love songs? did- did percy horribly belt out the words to cheesy romance songs? oh gods… do they have a song?? also percy and annabeth are so PDA it’s not even funny. they have no subtlety whatsoever. remember when they just, like, fully made out in front of piper in BoO?? (yes, the kiss with annabeth’s grunt-whimpers 🫠)

i just want to know the logistics. like are they stopping at hotels/motels? if so, are grover and percy in one bed/room and annabeth in another? or are they typical teenagers and percy’s going “so, grover, buddy, you wouldn’t mind if annabeth and i took that one, would ya?” same thing if they are camping. what’s the tent situation? are they all in one? either way i feel like percy and annabeth are gonna be sneaking away. are they going on long “walks” together while grover just sits there and chats with the trees? or do they not leave his side, and instead sit there and cuddle and flirt and act absolutely disgustingly adorable while grover is just chilling there like 🧍🏽

they love grover so so much and would NEVER do anything to purposefully make him uncomfortable or feel like a third wheel. but… it’s also percy and annabeth. they kinda have no chill when they’re around each other. zero sensible thoughts happening. it’s pretty much just “wow he/she looks so good right now” all the dam time. and yes, i also know that annabeth mentioned they faced danger on the trip, but that only seems to make percy and annabeth MORE down bad for each other. like remember in tartarus, aka LITERAL HELL, when they were suffering the worse pain and trauma imaginable, and percy’s only thoughts were how annabeth looked like a “hot barbarian princess?” they are literally the worst. i love them for it, but oh my goddess

Hey hey hey, remember how Drew (and Lacy) was mentioned as going to the same school as Sadie in The Serpent's Shadow? So it's like. Implied the two of them are a similar age, especially since they clearly interact plenty, with Sadie knowing her full name and such? I dunno about you, but I never interacted much with kids out of my age range at school, so it's basically implied they're close in age — when Sadie is thirteen (Lacy being said to be a year younger than her).

So, like. What if Drew's. Younger than Piper, actually? By like. A year or so, so she'd be fourteen, rather than the popularly accepted 16/17. I know The Lost Hero tries to say the oldest demigod at the cabin automatically becomes counselor unless challenged by someone who's been on more quests, but Annabeth was counselor at twelve, so I call bullshit and accept the demigod-that's-been-at-camp-the-longest rule as the one automatically takes the role when needed (also, there's nothing saying fourteen wouldn't be the oldest in the cabin post-war, anyways). So Drew could easily not be the oldest in the cabin, and still have to deal with suddenly being head of her family, on top of her older sister being revealed as a traitor, the grief of losing several siblings and friends, and the PTSD that comes with being a soldier.

I just think that'd be very fun for her <3

(And then just. Imagine Piper realizing that maybe she's the oldest, and her younger siblings took part in a war (that was arguably worse than the Giant War Piper was a part of), and maybe that's why Drew's a bit too much of a bitch sometimes, rather than just Girly Girls being automatically evil.)

Do you guys ever think,

when Percy dies, Grover will die at the same time. But unlike the others, they'll never be reunited in Elysium because Grover's a satyr who never get into Elysium, they turn into a tree.

And, if Annabeth is outlives Percy, she won't just grieve the love of her life but one of her best friends as well, one of the first people who believed in her, outside of luke and thalia.

One more thing, When Percy dies at least Annabeth will know she gets to see him again in Elysium but she'll also have to live with the knowledge that she'll never see Grover again even in death.

And if you don't want to think abt this, then:

Then don't think about her throwing away the collection of tin cans she and Percy probably kept for Grover.

Don't think about her using something from a tin can and thinking "I'll save this for Grover" and then realizing she'll never get to give it to him.

Don't think about her never being able to eat blue food or enchiladas again.

Don't think about her and Juniper holding each other and crying.

Don't think about Juniper momentarily hating Annabeth for getting to see her husband after she dies before forgetting all about her anger because they both lost their loves, damn it!

Don't think abt Percy reaching Elysium, being greeted by all of his friends, looking around for grover before registering why he wasn't there.

Don't think about him mourning his best friend, his brother even when in Eternal Paradise.

see this is part of the reason why there should be more physically disabled characters in pjo in general but the reason that Will being physically disabled would be such big deal is because he’s a healer. disabled people are extremely underrepresented in healthcare even though it’s so important for their voices to be heard. Will in canon is pretty ableist (because Rick is ableist), but imagine if he was physically disabled. imagine a Will who understands his patients because he’s in the same situation and leads reforms for accessibility because he’s dependent on it, too. imagine a Will who dreams of revolutionizing the medical field to make it easier for people like him to become doctors and nurses. imagine a Will who struggles with physical disability every day but is proud of who he is and wouldn’t change himself for the world.

If the curse of Delos was to provide an anchor for the soul that used the physicians cure then… it’d be fitting that the soul would have to stay on Delos.

And there’s a lot of existential horror on the mirroring of Calypso’s curse with this new one Leo comes back to life with. They’d have made their choices- Calypso to support her father and Leo to mettle with magic he didn’t understand- but would have never expected these to be the consequences.

And it’s not the same of course, because there are people on Delos, and it’s a real place people can find. They can find it way more easily for the same reason Leo is trapped there now- it’s anchored in place. Leo could also probably leave for short periods of time but would get sick or start fading away. And he probably would at the beginning, because he’s so used to running when he doesn’t feel safe. And he’s started running toward something now that he has people he loves. And because I work platonic Calypso and Leo soulmates into everything, it would be really interesting if this extended to her as well in some capacity. Not that she’s trapped on Delos too, because she deserves her freedom but that Ogygia is a somewhat neutral spot for Leo. Like, when he came back to life and went to get her, he didn’t start feeling any ill effects until they got back to the real world.

His friends hear, either because Calypso manages to tell them or he gets a letter through and while they’re so relieved and happy, well, how are they supposed to get to him when he’s back in the Mediterranean Sea? The only reason they were able to make it there in the first place was because of Leo. Reyna nearly died trying the trio without a ship. Nico’s too weak to shadow travel there and Hazel isn’t practiced enough to do it herself yet.

Frank knows what it’s like to have his soul tethered to something he doesn’t want, and Hazel knows what it’s like to be stuck somewhere she doesn’t want to be. Everyone is trying to think of something they can do to change this, to make it so he can leave. They can’t even ask Apollo for advice because Zeus… did something to him and Artemis has gone off into the wilderness to the point where even her hunters can hardly contact her. The only one that doesn’t actually let this get in his way is Jason. He’s packing a little hobo bindel and buying a hotspot so he can video call with Annabeth and the other Hephaestus kids about building those shrines he’s promised because hello, his best friend is alive and it’s possible to reach him and well, if that’s the only place Leo can be, then okay, Jason will just move there too.
