#that's the annoying thing about shows bringing out every episode at once nowadays #because it's always SUCH a rush to watch so you can actually engage with the fandom without getting spoilers #but i'm already on episode 5 and once again i'm really enjoying it and more people need to watch it!! #genuinely i don't know why it's so underrated because it's SUCH a good show if you're looking for good autistic representation #i always say it is to the autistic community what heartstopper is to the lgbt community. same wholesome joyous vibes

#it depends on the region!! #scottish water is delicious. english water tastes bland and also it makes weird bits of chalk build up in the kettle which is just gross #i think in most places you visit water has its own tastes. but scottish water is the best (though maybe i'm biased because that's #where i grew up. but it is! AND you don't get gross kettle chalk from it because it is normal and trustworthy)

#it really depends on the kid #some kids i'm great with and other kids are a nightmare #like. i always got on great with my younger cousins but when i worked at a nursery for a while that was really challenging #but yeah it really depends if i gel with the specific kid

online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't think anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.

i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.

#and it's the first episode of doctor who i ever watched so it's now also that long since i got into doctor who!! #(i still remember when i first asksd my dad about doctor who bc kids at school were talking about it and he was SO excited because he'd been #watching the episodes late at night but now he had me to watch with!! and he picked that episode as the one to introduce doctor who to me #with because i was just about the same age as rose is in the flashback we get to her as a little girl. and after that i was absolutely #obsessed with rose. like i genuinely think i had a little six-year-old crush on her. anyway. nice memories :))

#i usually set two alarms - one an hour before i have to set off and one half an hour before which is when i actually get up. because i #like to have a bit of time to wake up gradually #and then it takes me about an hour to travel to work (it's technically less time but i have to factor in the bus nearly always being late!) #so i guess for a morning shift i'd usually get up about an hour and a half before it starts #at the moment i'm mostly working late (5-10pm) shifts though so i can get up as late as i like which is nice!

i had such a hellish bus journey home from work today and i'm STILL drained from it

#basically the bus i usually take was cancelled because the bus service from my uni is shit and since hardly any buses come in the #evening i had to wait over half an hour for the next one after my late shift at work ended #and because it was a friday night the entire bus stop was crowded with rowdy drunk undergrad students #and then when the bus did come you could tell the bus driver was completely fed up with them because she deliberately waited like #ten minutes to set off until everyone quietened down. and then every time they got too rowdy she'd stop the bus again #and i was really paranoid because the journey was taking so long and it was like nearly midnight by this point and i didn't want to be #walking home through town so late because you get really dodgy people about and i knew i wouldn't feel safe! #and the drunk students were being SO loud and they kept screaming at the tops of their voices and blowing vape smoke pretty #much right into my hair and i was just feeling very impatient and overstimulated #and THEN to top it all off one of them vomited in the seat across from me and it smelt awful and i had to step over it just to get off #the bus. and i couldn't even get food on the way home because it was so late by the time the bus arrived that everywhere was closed #so yeah. not a fun evening and now i'm just tired and annoyed and the worst thing is i have to do a late shift AGAIN tomorrow

okay americans i gotta ask because as an European i grew up with lots of american shows and cartoons and in a lot of them there was an episode where they give the protags a doll or an egg or a bag of flour or whatever and told them pretend to be its parents or something

#i'm not american and i thought it was a british thing!! #i mean it was in the flour babies by anne fine and in a grange hill storyline AND there was a tracy beaker returns storyline where they #had to look after eggs. so that's two of my hyperfixation shows as a kid that had that happen #and i think some schools did it in real life. not my school but i know my mum's friend's daughter did it at her school #anyway i wonder where it originated - the uk or america. because i know in the uk it's been portrayed in media since at least 30 years ago #like it's NOT new and it's NOT ever been exclusively american
