Common Boat-Lizard
β€œHark! A tiny, green, boat!” -- Henry Bosset, L’ouvanian explorer, seconds before discovering the boat-lizard
Common boat-lizards are small agamas native to Olo’A, Tanjakna, and the Nuro Isles. They are renowned for their ability to float on their bony frills as if they were boats. By using their tails as rudders, they are able to navigate throughout the rivers and lakes they call home and find their food-- insects and small frogs. They can also run on two legs. In Tanjaknan legend, they are often trickster figures. Deadly snakebites are often attributed to the harmless boat-lizards, and as such, they are often killed as pests.Β
Goliath Boat-Lizard/Giant Marine Boat-Lizard
β€œHark! A large, green, boat!” -- Henry Bosset, L’ouvanian explorer, seconds before discovering the goliath boat-lizard
Goliath boat-lizards are oversized ocean-dwelling relatives of the freshwater common boat-lizards found within the Tropical Sea. They feed on fish and nesting sea-birds. Though their frill is too small to let them float on it, but they are strong swimmers and do not need it.

500 people own $5.9 trillion.
An estimated $300 billion is needed to make meaningful progress to fight climate change.
If they could spare $600 million each, billions of people and the rest of life on earth would have a shot at surviving till the sun blows up, not till the earth blows up.
...Wonder where we could find this change...between the couch cushions in their 27 vacation homes each?

Catoblepas
"The catoblepas who plows every field never goes hungry." -- Lelstovian saying
Catoblepas are large Lelstovian herbivores. They are known for their large size and reptilian appearance, and are around twenty feet tall. They have woolly bodies, but their neck, legs, and head are hairless. They have long necks and short legs like that of an elephant. They have a crest of bone around their heads, large tusks, and spiny osteoderms down their necks, all of which grow in size over time. They have grey skin and ruddy brown fur. The Lelstovian Catoblepas is most closely related to the Azdean Catoblepas, a more primitive species with a smaller crest and tusks. They are both species of rhinoceros. Their name comes from the Old Stolian words catob (crested) and pas (horned beast). Catoblepas calves and cows move in herds of three to six led by one bull. These herds are nomadic and move throughout their home territories, feeding on young trees, pine needles, and leaves. Their favored feeding grounds become catoblepas fields, clearings free of trees and undergrowth. In summer, small herds move towards large lakes, forming huge herds that feed on water plants. Bulls will fight by running at each other, striking each other by swinging their heads. The winner of these jousts will defend and mate with the herd. Their tusks grow quickly, so they grind them on trees or the ground to shorten them. Elderly catoblepas will drag their heads on the ground to shorten their tusks, leaving furrows in the ground and giving the impression of the creature being sullen. They give off a strong musk. Catoblepas are raised for milk and fur in Lelstoff. In Azda, they are commonly used as war machines. Their milk is fermented and used as a beverage, Pesel. They are common in Lelstovian folklore and prose, and are said to be farmers because they resemble plows when grinding their tusks on the ground. Popular figures of speech referencing catoblepas include "The wisest catoblepas hangs its head" and "The catoblepas who plows every field never goes hungry." The catoblepas is the national animal of Lelstoff.
