Killugon Week - Day 2

It’s killugon week!!!! :D aaaaaaaand I don’t have anything written except a one shot for Gon’s birthday lol

But I do have a lot of fics written that fit well into the aus/prompts picked out for everyone at @killugonweek​! So I figured I could just post a few snippets with links to fics that fit the prompts each day as a form of shameless self promotion lol.

I will have something new to post on Gon’s bday though, I promise! And for the free day on Saturday I’ll share some snippets of work in progress fics I’ve been working on ^-^ happy killugon week, everyone!

May 4th - Day 2 - School AU

Snippet:

It was a simple, established fact of the local high school’s social anarchy: everyone liked Gon. He talked to people, made them open up in ways no one else could.

So, it was a big surprise to Gon as to anyone when the high school’s matching system paired him with the one person he had never uttered a single word to during his past three years at Hunter High.

“This can’t be for real,” Killua Zoldyck says flatly when Gon first confronts him face-to-face.

May 4th - Day 2 - Beach

Title: Ocean Eyes - (link)

Snippet:

“Killua,” Gon says, his smile as brilliant as his laugh. “Look, here—”

He squats next to where Killua is resting on the rocky edge of the tide pool, then gently takes Killua’s cold, clawed hand in his warm, calloused one. Killua lets him, scales and skin tingling alike, and watches numbly as Gon presses one of his shells into Killua’s palms.

“—to make you even more pretty!” Gon finished proudly.

Killua’s throat closes up. The shell is beautiful, almost a perfect circle with little ridges and valleys in even swirls. It’s a scarlet orange color; the color of the sun, of Gon’s eyes. It’s everything Killua has ever dreamed of, and nothing he can ever accept.

Because Gon isn’t a mermaid. He doesn’t understand.

God dammit. Gon was going to make him explode one day from sheer mortification. “Yes, Gon. Couple-y stuff.”
