Twilight Town is different, it’s a phrase that won’t stop circling his mind, It’s too different. So far, the people have been kind and welcoming, as they always are, as they always were. He’s talked to them all, each and every one had something nice to say; compliments followed by worried glances and thin smiles. Seifer answered their kind remarks with a proper thank you…The rest? The bits he didn’t want to acknowledge? He ignored. 

It’s when he’s standing in the middle of a vacant struggle lot that Seifer shoved his hands into the pockets of his pants and rolled back on the heels of his feet. Quiet, it’s quiet. Too Quiet. 

Where is he? The source of noise and everything bright in the world. Was he avoiding him?

Most likely. 

Well, truth be told he could be just as stubborn. He could stand in one spot and watch as the sky rolled from blue to pink to pitch black, he could stand here, unmoving, until he turned to stone. 

And so could Hayner.

After a few minutes of silent complementation, Seifer swallowed his pride and followed a familiar path, past a row of buildings and down a corridor of light posts. When he finally reached his desired destination, Seifer didn’t announce his arrival or asked for permission to step inside, there was no need to. He threw the curtain aside and stepped into the abandoned Usual Spot. Abandoned only because Seifer didn’t think he would find Hayner or his friends there, except…There he was…

“I’ve greeted everyone in town ‘xcept for you and your friends. If I didn’t know any better I’d think you were avoiding me.” 

That’s all he can say. That’s all he’s allowed to say. 

            he had heard whispers in the grapevine, whispers that the good ol’ twilight town disciplinary committee everyone holds near and dear is back into town. normally hayner wasn’t one to avoid people since he though it was cowardly, but he doesn’t feel like he wants to meet seifer yet. it’s not because he’s avoiding him, not at all! hayner doesn’t do stuff like -            hayner looks up and speak of the devil and he shall come. a small ‘dammit’ comes under his breath as he sits, not even moving an inch from where he’s sitting. not yet, why would he? 

           “you got a whole lot of nerve to think i would just avoid you...!” he looks at him but not in the eyes, only because he can’t right now. “and you found me. what? you lookin’ for a welcoming committee or something?” there’s meant to be humor there, but maybe it’s just a tad bitter underneath the surface. “well too bad. i’m a real busy guy!”

in my main verse, hayner and seifer are exes! this is continuing from my last blog where they dated for a good while with many ups and downs, but they ended up making it work.

where it ends is a little after kingdom hearts 2 but before kingdom hearts 3. feeling disappointed that he couldn't help against the dusks, seifer wanted to go on a quest to get stronger. sora had shown them all that there were worlds beyond them, so seifer wanted to search for something that could help if the same thing were to happen again.

he had asked hayner to go with him on this journey, but hayner refused. how could he leave his friends, family, and all of those he loves behind? there's a community that he cares for, and he couldn't bring himself to up and leave them all, especially since he's so thoroughly connected.

it hurt, but they felt the best thing to do then was to go their separate ways with seifer leaving and hayner staying behind.

            he’s so cool, he’s so smooth  —  he’s definitely showing off his gnarly skills on this skateboard. wind through his hair, grin on his face; is he not the poster boy for coolest kid in the world (or worlds, depending on who you’re asking)! his arms are at his side and he’s scaling the rail, eyes bright, bright, bright and then - - 

                                    CRASH!

            he falls down to the ground at the same time as his ego, skateboard rolling away and leaving hayner behind. he lays there for a moment before he flops on his back, face wrinkled in distaste and a little pink in embarrassment.

oh, i forgot to mention this! 

my main verse when all the folks come is post kh3, buuut i really don’t mind dipping and doing stuff in kh2, spots between kh2, and even stuff in the timeline of kh3! i’ll write more of a timeline eventually, but i kinda just wanted to put this out here just in case! 

for now i’ve kept it all kh2 and vague for now because i’m still planning, but...!

            “hey, hey!” he’s holding in his hands that looks like a corn-dog, but that isn’t the most offensive part. three strips of bacon is wrapped around it with cheese poking out, and the worst part? there’s a sauce on it that looks very orange, very much like it would be hot if it were to touch any spot on the palette. it’s a walking red flag, and he’s trying to push it right into this stranger’s hands. 

            “c’mon man, just give it one bite!” it’s his newest venture to make some munny up in the common, and he needs to know if it’s a hit. “whaddaya say? or y’know, waddaya do? huuuh? huuuuuh?”

            now there’s someone with blue hair, huh? twilight town really attracts such strange folks nowadays, not that hayner minds! it makes such nice stories to tell his mom, and adds some pop of color to days that sometimes seem ordinary. 

            where do they even come from anyway? it only leaves him to wonder, and maybe she’ll have some insight for it.

            “‘sup!” his greeting is exuberant, arms crossed right on over his chest. “haven’t seen you around before. you new?” seems like it, just like that weird sora kid or even that kairi. huh.

             at least he seems to know of the two that he’s talking about. great, they’re on the same page! though...!

             “huh, not with them?” that’s such a shame, considering how friendly they are! well, at least hayner has this guy here. if he’s a friend of theirs, then he must be cool, right? well, that’s what his gut is saying anyway! “oh well, maybe next time! must be getting up to something cool again. ‘m sure they’ll find their way back or something, or sometime! so, in the meantime,” hayner grins a goofy little grin, fingers to his temple as if he’s giving a salute.

             “name’s hayner. nice to meet ya!”
