Hi. I'm alive. It's been awhile. I moved to Korea, Seoul specifically, in July of last year to teach and it's been pretty amazing. I've been going to every B.A.P thing I can, flew to Japan for 48 hours to go to Himchan's fan meet/sign, and yeah. Corona has made things difficult, but I'm managing.

I did go skydiving last weekend though. Not in the jump out of a plane sense (though I will do that before I die), but in the filming location sense. I watched B.A.P's Skydive MV again, and I noticed they didn't bother blurring out the phone numbers on the signs shown in the background, so I got curious and plugged them into Naver and Kakao maps and was able to find them easily. This would have been impossible otherwise since there's so many side streets in Seoul that look like the ones in the video. I needed to go to the bookstore anyway, and since the first location was only one stop over, it was time to visit. And this time, unlike when I visited the Badman locations, I wasn't trespassing. Since we're on level 2.5 of a lockdown scale which means restaurants and coffee shops can only allow dine in until 9:00, just about everything was closed and there weren't many people around. Sadly, there were other people shooting something down the street where Daehyun finds his dead girlfriend so I couldn't go down there, but I did get a shot of the sign that's behind him. I can always go back later. After that, I headed south of the river to 신도림 to the location of the opening shots. I had no interference this time, though there were a few people down the street probably wondering wtf this person was taking pictures of a door. 🙃

Wine drinking space bunnies

Today a friend of mine asked me why B.A.P’s logo is a rabbit, and I had to explain the whole matoki thing, and like…

idk if you’ve ever tried explaining it but trying to tell someone that B.A.P are rabbit aliens from space who’ve come to take over Earth and harness the screams of fans to power their home planet… like can you imagine someone hearing that for the first time?

This article made me so damn proud of him. I suffer from a similar condition and also take medication, so let me add they're not one size fits all because no one has the same brain chemistry. It took me trying two different drugs, each for a month because it needs to build up in your system to determine how you'll truly react you it, before I found one that worked for me. Some of the side effects suck, but I can live with them because it balances me out and makes me feel like a normal person. I wish didn't have to take it, but this illness is a part of me and isn't going away, just as Yongguk's is a part of him. Be glad he's taking care of himself. The giant monkey known as T$ is off his back and he's doing things on his own terms. Don't pity him. Support and love this man who had endured so much and continues to press on.

Yongguk’s Depression

I didn’t think I would do one of these since I had decided to stay out of drama and just things like this but I can’t let this one go. 

First of all, are you really gonna take away from the fact how much guts it must have taken for Yongguk to talk so openly about this? Why take away from the fact that he was so brave to admit all of this which was probably already really hard for him. He probably knows that people in South Korea or Asia in general will not take very kindly to mental illness and he still went and admitted something so big.

But some people seem to focus on the small little detail about him being on medication and how it would effect his mood and maybe make him act in a way which isn’t true to him. Which, by the way a little research would tell you that it is not true. The best and most straight forward source I can give you on how they work is THIS video. But the tl;dr is that anti depressants and anxiety meds gives you a stability in mood instead of being on different levels of extremes emotionally. 

So instead of being worries or sad or looking down at him, be proud of him. He confidently shared all his feelings with us, celebrate him taking care of himself and being happy. And I will say this too, him expressing his feelings through music is not a cry for help. It means that he feels good enough to share this side of him and is ready to face all of it. 

Love and support him, he is doing his best and I am so damn proud of him and this interview and his recent work.

I remember 4:44. And how concerned everyone was. From what he has shared with us recently - he seems to be focused and positive. He’s enigmatic, so there’s no telling what topics he might bring up, or parts of his life he might choose to share, but I (cautiously) doubt it’ll be as devastating as 4:44.

I think judging by what he has said publicly, it’s not hard to work out why he might be interested in the hikikomori and the what, how’s and why’s of their lives - but it could also be a broader, artistic or intellectual study / theme. We don’t know.

So I think for this single / album, I’m going to skip any major speculation and wait until it’s released. No matter what it entails, it’s definitely going to be interesting and thoughtful - just like him ^^

i think the genuinely worst part about kpop nowadays is how people are making everything out to be about competition and ‘who did it better’. thats not what music should be about. not for the fans, and certainly not for the artists themselves. sure, a lil friendly competition and awards are necessary in any industry, but the kpop world has become so toxic bc new fans who dont even know anything about the history of it are jumping on a hating bandwagon against whoever their fandom decides is the ‘competition’ and that behavior is ugly and disgusting as fuck and it needs to stop. discrediting someones success and achievements just bc you arent a fan of them or constantly comparing them to others is not fucking cute or savage, you are acting like a child and only bringing harm to your faves and the rest of your fandom. learn a few lessons and grow the fuck up.
