i was thinking today about why blair chose chuck instead of dan even though dating dan included everything she’d ever wanted in a relationship (common interests, equality, happiness, simple love, etc…), then i remembered a quote from one of my favorite books saying “we accept the love we think we deserve”, and i finally concluded that, because of her insecurities, blair assumes she deserves less than a healthy relationship, hence her telling dan “who else could love me after what I’ve become?”; whisper voice has always made her feel inferior to him and treated her like property, convincing her that she belongs to him and that she wouldn’t be able to find love with any other man, to the point where she started believing that herself. blair deserves way better than what she gives herself credit for, that’s why I will always choose dan and blair.
the most illogical argument ch*ir shippers use against dair is that calling them “boring”. excuse me??? they were literally the only ones with a decent sense of humor throughout the show I can’t remember a time I laughed or even slightly smiled at something ch*ck bass said. dan and blair’s witty banter and constant bickering was hilarious and no one can tell me otherwise. they were exciting, spontaneous (elevator sex???) and most importantly ORIGINAL. they invented the enemies to best friends to lovers trope??? what did chuck and blair invent? abuse?
