If I wasn’t travelling for work in Europe, I just might have visited the old and delicious well... I hope many others do though!
It's nearly here, Turn fandom!
For those that don't know, Turn Week consists of a week of daily prompts to help engage the Turn fandom in celebrating the show "Turn: Washington's Spies"! Every day starting July 1, this blog will post the day's theme for you to reblog and make posts about. Be sure to tag your posts with both tags "turn week" and "turn week 2023" and check out and reblog other people's work. It's always a joy to see people's takes and creativity :)
This year's schedule has been put together by me and @tallmadgeandtea and we're really excited about the line up. Help us spread the word by reblogging and sharing with any blogs that might be interested.
See you July 1!

Yes and yes to all of this! 😁
(Anyone who remembers this scene from S01E03 Of Cabbages and Kings knows he totally deserved being tied against a tree, but I still think it's hilarious. Of all the hackneyed attempts to restrain a man. And if anyone seeing this out of context is unsettled, please know that he sarcastically claps in this situation.)
Posting this just to share the link of an article that talks a bit about the real Simcoe and the impressions he left on those he interacted with in the American Revolution.
I always found his characterization funny. Samuel Roukin, the actor, is amazing and TV Simcoe is a irreplaceable character that enriches the show in rewarding ways (and drives, like, a third of the plot, at least in Season 1). But certainly the history I grew up knowing did not paint him as the cheerful sociopath that he is in the show XD
Anyway, for Villain Monday of Turn Week 2023, enjoy reading about the man behind one of the most unhinged portrayals in the show (though, of course, he is in excellent company.)

when somebody brings a cake to the party and tells you can't eat it
So, Nick has brought this human into our house and, um... he doesn’t want us to eat him.

Signalboosting!
Personally I have been lately a bit distracted (blaming it on Dandy Pirate and His Friends), and at this time I will be traveling for work in Europe... but I’ll do my best to partake! 😁
As many of you know, over the last couple years, @tallmadgeandtea and @ms-march and I have put together several Turn Weeks. Well, once again, I threw one together for the week of July 4th.
Rules are simple: each day has a subject/topic. You can create any kind of art pertaining to the topic that you would like. Art includes but is not limited to: drawings, gifs, colleges, fanfiction, Spotify playlists, etc.
If you have any questions, message me. Just get creative and have fun!
PS: The tag will be 'turn week 2022'

@manifestingautumn - I am listening to an audiobook about real peaky blinders, which - as always happens - is definitively less glamorous then the TV series... but still interesting!
Most of that kind of activity actually took place well before the 1st World War, and the criminals were more restless young thugs than sophisticated masterminds like Shelby brothers - but hey, never let reality come into the way of a good story! 😁
