A and I went to dinner just the two of us tonight, which was so great. I love that we can hold space for each other and understand the other's problems without feeling like it's a judgement, particularly around kids. We had a good laugh that the ~5 hours a day with a five year old just confirmed to me that I'm not meant to have kids and for her it was the easiest trip she's taken with him. She knows me well enough that she could see at which point each day I was starting to get overstimulated.

They're leaving tomorrow morning, so I have two extra days of PTO just for myself. I'm going to get my PS5 sometime in those days. A might be interested in buying my XBox and giving me the same amount I would have gotten for a trade in. We'll see. But either way this is my birthday gift to myself.

We went to a cat cafe today and I was blessed by one of the skittish cats jumping up on my shoulders. It was great.

Tomorrow A and I are going to do dinner just the two of us. As much as I love her son, I have to admit that I'm a little burned out on five-year-old energy.

Yooooooo! I missed pretty much an entire patch for both Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail while I've been sick. And last night I remembered the new Honkai update was coming out today, meaning I had only hours until Aventurine's banner ended and I kind of wanted him. I was at high pity and guaranteed so there was a possibility I could pull this off. So I log on and claim everything I possibly can from the welcome back event and do all the pulls I can last night but didn't get him.

So then I log on this morning and do a little bit more to claim some timed rewards. I do a single pull and got him! Literally the first and only pull I did this morning. I'm so happy!

Had a good day today! My neck pain stayed gone which was incredible. We did a harbor cruise tour and that did trigger some very mild vertigo but nothing that was a huge deal. We also went to the aquarium which was fun.

Then I came back home and did a little bit of cleaning. I also miraculously checked the school calendar and realized that today was the first day of the summer semester. I'm doing a super easy leadership class so I should be able to handle it, but I nearly missed check in today. 😅

I didn't actually nap but I have been laying in bed since I got home, exhausted. I don't know what happened but the acute pain I've been feeling since flying to Arizona really eased up today. I don't want to jinx it and say it's gone but I'm hopeful. Just goes to show the dynamic nature of chronic pain; I woke up this morning thinking I might go to urgent care to get some relief.

I'm on PTO this week, and outside of spending time with A I'm going to try and get some projects done around the apartment. I have a new rug for under my desk, and some storage cubes for the bedroom cubby shelf (one of which is going to be dedicated to my various braces and heating pads).

I have been more active the past week than I've been in months. I started off this morning in a bit of pain but once we were out doing stuff it faded to dull baseline pain. We went out for brunch and then did some walking around in the International District and Pike Place Market.

I initially wanted to take advantage of feeling good and do more, but now that I'm laying on my bed yeah I need to rest.

I like to think that bucks stupid face covered in soot was nodding and smiling like a toddler because he was looking directly at maddie and being like “this is the hot pilot! He makes me happy!”

My friend A and her family arrived in Seattle last night. Today we got together for brunch and walking through a park, then they came back to my place and helped me put the new couch together. The couch ended up being the perfect shade of green so I'm very happy. It's firm but it'll soften up as I use it.

I started to feel bad around 1, so they've left for the evening and we're going to meet up again tomorrow. That will probably be the routine throughout the week, with us hanging out in the morning and then me going home to rest in the evening.

Once I get some energy back I need to make a grocery run.

the fact that tommy has now seen buck both in his most jealous resource guarding puppy phase and his control freak with a clipboard (sans the clipboard) phase and still wants him just as badly...I can't believe buck found the only two men in the world who are moronsexual enough to deal with this. a statistical anomaly.
