mello knows the most languages out of anyone at wammy's house. he didn't know much english when he arrived, but he learned very quickly. he had a skill for language, and that's the only area he ever bested near in.

Alright, so, let's see..... Headcanons meant to knock L off his pedestal of "eighth wonder of the world", "mister perfect at anything he does".

-Has horrible handwriting (sure, he wrote ok in Japanese, but that's how it is when you learn the symbols from scratch). In regular alphabet....let's say it's better that he types most of the time.

- He cannot drive, not that he needs to, not that he couldn't learn if he needed, but somehow his ability to focus is of such a nature that, while he can handle 1000 ideas coming at him all at once, traffic is another matter. That's why the helicopter was alright, cause there was no traffic up there.

- Plus, he's colorblind. White tee and jeans are safe option, cause they are sure to match, no need to fret over what shirt goes well with anything else.

- He can swim decent enough as to stay alive and not sink like a rock, but that's about it for water prowess.

- He doesn't like to read fiction, but he likes audiobooks or if I read to him.

- In the same line, he likes instrumental music, plays the piano, but he can't sing well, apart from humming a bit.

- Weirdly enough, he doesn't really like maths. Sure, he's good with data, but it's the human element, the psychological focus that interests him. Maths or physics per se are boring. Especially 3D geometry, which was always his weak subject.

I like to give him more human headcanons as well, including things he's shit at. The anime in particular started presenting him as like. an all powerful figure who could see his own death. And that's just weird to me HASJJSHSHS

But I'm pretty bad at coming up with things I haven't experienced, you know? So my headcanons tend to be things I have experienced even if I don't do them, and I will always say I like to project onto L and make him suffer/happy in the same ways I do. he's more of a comfort character for me in that sense. I do have many many headcanons of things he is terrible at but in my opinion they're not as interesting lol. maybe because I can't explain them as well

idk if it's just me but I think L would be pretty good at drawing. Probably simplistic, but realistic at the same time. He's probably pretty familiar with human anatomy because of his job, and he's probably had to do sketches of suspects based off of witness testimony at some point in some case, considering he's often a one-man team.

And, you know, drawing can be relaxing. I think he'd also find drawing people would kind of help him, like, understand their character? I don't know how to word it bbbfbf but yeah I think L would have some degree of interest and talent in art. though very little time to do it.

🤍 (which character is not as morally bad as everyone seems to think) to me the point of death note is kind of that NO ONE is 100% morally good but i think misa in particular gets a lot of hate for being "crazy" and "obsessive" when every character in death note is obsessive and it literally drives the plot

I posted about Palestine on social media for years with zero interaction. No one wanted to talk about it and it has always seemed too far removed for americans to give a shit about.

So again I just want to remind people, it's never been like this before (in the us). This movement has always been here, but they can no longer bury it.

The fact that protests and boycotts have been sustained for going-on 6months, that's not nothing. This should be evidence to you that we can sustain the momentum, we must, and use this momentum for radical changes within ourselves, our habits, and our education.

We have the rest of the world to catch up with.

Wow... people having to identify themselves to a government because of they are part of a group that is seen as ¨other¨ or because they want to learn about a certain topic...where i have seen this before...

I don't know... maybe what it is considered one of the biggest red flags in steps of dehumanization of groups, mainly minorities?

Edit: Since this gained more notes, for those who don't know KOSA is, it is a USA bill that was reintroduced on May 2023 (last year). It is called ¨Kids Online Safety Act¨ (KOSA for short). It has been introduced and reintroduced for a while now since 2022. It is meant with the intention to ¨protect kids¨ by restricting their use of internet by pushing age restrictions and people having to present their ID to use internet or access certain websites, quite similar to the Kansas state bill that got passed. Many groups and people have criticized this bill for the potential censorship it can come with it and do more harm to the kids than help them. Possible censorship that has been suggested this bill can bring is LGBT+ content, politics and news, mental health search, political and social opinions in general (adults included). What is more, it has been put into question the possible invasion of privacy for both minors and adults by having to share an identification to use certain websites. That people could get censored or doxxed by doing this.

As for the bill itself, there was a hearing earlier today in the Senate. ( April 17th-Wednesday). It could take a while before it gets voted and has to pass different stages. Then it would take months (18 months) to be implemented if it gets passed.

I'm not American myself, so i'm not sure how much i can do about this. What i do recommend is making calls to senators and people involved in pushing this bill to make clear your disapproval of it. Try sign petitions or just telling others about it.
