My life has been so much better ever since I traded my impostor syndrome to brilliant conman -syndrome. Do I deserve anything in life? Fuck no! Will I grasp it anyway? Fuck yes!

When you feel like you don't belong in grad school and have no clue what you are doing, but then have a conversation with the whole class and they all are just going through the motions and are on the same boat as you feels absolutely amazing. Cause you are not too dumb for this; you're just underestimating yourself. No one truly knows what they are doing.

#first of all #that is a terrible thing to do to your students #what the f u c k #second of all #none of us know what we’re doing all the time #and that is a very important thing to remember #my classmates and I were talking about neuroanatomy/course loads the other day #and one of my classmates mentioned that he was impressed with how I managed to balance everything last semester #which was very validating because last semester was a Bad Time™️ overall #and I usually felt like I was behind where I should have been in the class we were taking
