I feel so stuck.
I feel like giving up...I'm not happy with anything right now.

This one is so beautiful!!
This is what we Afghans call the “Shirnee”. When a guy’s family comes to ask for the girl’s hand in marriage, his family is constantly asking for the “Shirnee”. This signifies the unity between the two families. It’s a way of saying “Yes, she agrees to this proposal and will take his hand in marriage”. Usually any sort of candy presented on the table when the guy’s family is over is enough, but its turned into a part of our culture to present it in some sort of arrangement like this. The day this is given to the groom-to-be’s family is known as the Shirnee or Shirnee Khori.
