"I would kill for you. I would die for you" would you take a break for me? Would you sit down and rest? For a day, a week, a year? Would you let others take care of your needs for me? Would you let yourself be held for me? By me?

I hate when people (usually men on reddit) are like “if you met arthur back then he would murder you for breathing in his existence!” Oh would he? When? Before or after he’s finished doodling bunnies and flowers?

High resolution poster in remembrance of the Wounded Knee Massacre on December 29th, 1890. This is the treatment Indigenous peoples of this continent faced through atrocities committed by the United States army, politicians, settlers, pioneers, and with approval by the president of the U.S. These are the effects of colonization and genocide that predate any history book and committed in the name of Manifest Destiny, religious freedom, democracy, and independence. Please, take a minute to share, repost, disseminate, and honor the Indigenous Lakota lives lost and the ancestral trauma that calls for environmental and social justice generations later! Accounts of the Wounded Knee Massacre (1890s) “In late 1890 troops of the Seventh Cavalry killed more than 200 Native American men, women, and children at a reservation located along Wounded Knee Creek in South Dakota. A number of longstanding issues on the reservation contributed to the tension prior to the massacre. In the bad crop years of 1889 and 1890, the US. government failed to provide the full amount off ood, agricultural implements and seeds, clothing, and supplies mandated by its treaty with the Lakota Nation. Many Lakota, including Black Elk, criticized the violent reactions of the Indian agents, many of whom were inexperienced and some of whom were remnants ofCuster’s Seventh Cavalry, which had been crushed by Sitting Bull just 14 years before at the Little Big Horn. Many years later, Flying Hawk recollected the events.” R.I.S.E.: RADICAL INDIGENOUS SURVIVANCE & EMPOWERMENT http://burymyart.tumblr.com http://facebook.com/RISEindigenous

Hi. An Oklahoman here and an avid supporter of education.
Honestly, fuck whatever Oklahoma has done to our education. We were DEAD LAST out of all 50 states based on spending per student and test results.
Now, things won't get any better. And we only have Ryan Walters to thank. Instead of appearing in court, he is busy attacking the Tulsa public school system because he theorizes they've been doing business with China and is now working on cutting back on diversity in schools.
Fuck you, Ryan Walters. And Kevin Stitt can eat a bag of dicks too. Holy shit.

Choctaw AND Chickasaw here... NEVER have I EVER heard of this.
What are dead man walking tornadoes? :O
it’s a multi-vortex tornado. i dont remember the tribe it originates from (i think it was cherokee), but there’s a native american legend…? saying? that goes “if you see a man in a tornado, you are about to die.”
Tumblr media
the most infamous shot of a dead man walking tornado hit jarrell, texas in 1997
Tumblr media
it did so much damage to the town it caused the scale that tornados are measured by, the fijita scale, undergo revisions, and it made anchoring buildings in the tornado alley region pretty much mandatory. (it took the entire town off the map. only those who had taken shelter outside of the town or in underground bunkers survived.)
two more examples of dead man walking tornadoes looking like a person are a tornado from 2011 that hit cullman, alabama
Tumblr media
and a tornado from 1975 that hit xenia, ohio
