Like the reaction JJ had to leaving John B behind when he went to go find his father he literally yelled at Kie saying they’re not leaving him behind he was freaking the hell out compared to JJ physically seeing Kie be kidnapped and dragged away by big ass men and he wasn’t throwing a huge fit 😭

Jiara week was a blessing and everyone came up with such amazing fics but can we acknowledge something that as a ff writer myself annoyed me?

…the amount of creators who rated their stories “mature” on AO3 despite not being anywhere near the rating criteria just because they know it’s what get the people clicking on the fic.

And those were still amazing stories, the writers were brilliant but it was just annoying especially when you post a fic yourself being honest about the ratings, the warnings and the tags and then it gets lost in the sea of fics who got falsely advertised. It felt a bit dishonest to me.

Not to be funny, but I genuinely do not understand what you mean. Personally, I don’t think I’ve seen a random influx of people rating their fics as mature when they aren’t meant to be. The mature rating means more than smut, and with topics like abuse and neglect being huge topics in the jiara fandom, it wouldn’t surprise me if people rated their fics mature.

I don’t really think it’s false advertisement at all.

And I don’t know about others, but I don’t think a mature rating gets more clicks either.

just find it funny how differently writing can be perceived sometimes. the first set of pictures is stats from ghostie in the last month just with jiara week having passed, the second is from another blog i post my writing on. i have kept both these blogs going consistently for a year and to see the difference in them is staggering🙃

this isn’t me crying for validation or anything but more so just stating how disheartening it is to know that the jiara fandom (and other fandoms as well) don’t give writers the recognition they deserve. there are so many amazing writers in this fandom, some i am even lucky enough to call my friends and knowing they should be getting so much more applause and validation for their writing is just annoying when that isn’t the case. if you like something, reblog it. spread it. it doesn’t take that much effort, i promise you.
