Ino-Shika-Chou patriarchs not reprimanding their children’s bad habits and not being so strict to their training is them being cunning. Because they don’t want their children to be enlisted from them by the anbu at the young age or being kidnapped by Danzo. Like they realized what happened to prodigies and how they are handled by the village. *cough* Itachi and Kakashi*cough*. Inoichi and Shibi got their clan kid took away from them. (In Shibi’s case it was supposed to be Shino who is the CLAN HEIR. Torune just volunteered in Shino’s stead.) Shikaku having a prodigy strategist as a son also had a fear that Danzo will took his child too. And Hiruzen just let this war criminal run amok doesn’t he?

Naruto Konoha 12 High School Clique Headcanons

Team 10- Punk Kids. Don’t care about you or anything else. Except when they do. Then they care too much. Can and will fist fight you, just let Shikamaru have his smoke break first.

Team 7- Floater Kids. Definitely hang out together but also mesh well with other cliques. Don’t seem close but will die for each other, even if the situation does not demand it.

Team 3- Underdogs, or the underestimated. Everyone thinks they’re just fuck ups or they have something externally that’s holding them back. They’ll overcome it. Just give them time.

Team 8- Weird kids. What’s the dog and bug equivalent of a horse girl? Can’t blame them. Hinata was 100% me with my first crush.

Does Asuma know about Shikamarus weird cryptd tendencies? How does Asuma handle/deal with his team in general? And does he ever ask someone (coughEnsuicough) for advice on how to handle Shikamaru?

asuma’s first impression of the team is that they would be easy to handle. which is so. wrong.

ino is such an antagonizer, choji eats up asuma’s money, shikamaru wants to do nothing at all, and all three are pretty hard to motivate. plus ino and shikamaru are mean. 

also, asuma doesn’t understand how shikamaru has any physical ability at all because he's just trying to sleep all day. until, asuma runs into him at night. then it all makes sense. 

(asuma tried asking shikaku and yoshino for advice because they were listed as shikamaru’s parents under shikamaru’s legal information. shikaku said “I dunno” and yoshino just said “suffer”)
