Carmy's thank you was so heartfelt. Like he geniunely appreciated when his mom said she was happy he was home.

Mikey said the same thing at the beginning to reassure Carmy, but their backhanded compliments left him on shakey ground.

When Donna told Carmy, "I am happy" she turned her back and said ,'we only see him once a year he's too fancy for us" The camera lingers and Carmy could only clench his jaw and try to make it a decent holiday even though he always feels like the outcast.
