Lance Reddick as Zeus was a phenomenal piece of casting. What a presence- so intimidating, so divinely powerful but also petty and blinded by pride. Human in the worst way. Gonna be a tough act to follow.
I鈥檓 sorry but I just love that Poseidon was in the same shirt when he came to save Percy that he was when he talked to Sally. You can look into it as deep symbolism or smth but I just love the idea that the all powerful sea deity has like. three shirts. or that being thousands of years old he repeats clothing at all. sustainable king!!
there's something so compelling to me about the fact that sometimes leaving a blade or bullet inside the wound it made is the only way to prevent you from bleeding to death. something about the ironic symbolism of it. when the thing designed and intended to kill you is the only thing keeping you alive.
another heavy handed symbolism moment: my mom has a potted sunflower in the kitchen. because it is a sunflower, it keeps turning towards the light from the window. my mother keeps rotating it so it faces inward because she wants "to see its beautiful petals and have it really brighten up the space!" . the sunflower is visibly wilting .
