The scene reveals itself to him in pieces. Dark, elegant hands gripping freckled, milk-pale arms. A shaved head and a shaggy mess of hair. Remus’s soft whimpers muffled by Kingsley’s broad shoulder. Sirius clutches the curtain as he sways. “I... sorry. I...” Barely flinching, Kingsley sighs, “For the last time, Sirius: yes, your voice is fried, but the rasp is sexy. Get some sleep.” “No, I... that’s er... It can wait. Sorry.” “Is this about the interview tomorrow?” “It’s fine, love,” Remus says, patting Kingsley’s chest. “I know what he’s here for.” Remus slides out from under him and rifles through the duffel bag at the foot of the bed. He produces a loose white pill with a triumphant smirk. “Remus,” Kingsley chides. “What? It’s paracetamol.” He winks and hands Sirius what’s quite clearly a Xanax. “Sweet dreams, Sirius.” “Er... thanks, Remus,” he stammers. Kingsley shakes his head, but his objections die on Remus’s lips. “Need you awake by eight.” Dazed, he nods and drags himself away like a kicked puppy.

everywhere, everything is quickly becoming my fave, but my favourite completed fic is The Hut of the Mistold.

hp for both! the first fic I read was dramione, and the first fic I can remember writing was also technically dramione, but I never published any of it.

T: Any fanfic tropes you can’t stand?

hmmm not really? there's certain tags I'll stay away from out of personal preference, but I think most tropes exist for a reason. I always thought I hated miscommunication, but then I realised the majority of my fics feature miscommunication of some sort lol.

actually you know what that's exactly it i would rather someone add 5 parantheticals after every sentence than use tone indicators it's 1. accomplishing SO much more in terms of clarity 2. extremely funny to look at depending on how they're used

hi this might sound silly but the cursed ship game you did a while ago on your blog genuinely helped me find motivation to write. I've started just randomly picking a few marauders era characters and a setting and thinking about how I could write a silly one shot out of this and it's so freeing to create fanfiction outside of fandom and simply for your own pleasure, which is something I wasn't really aware of before. Like genuinely 18 yo me would be sent into cardiac arrest if told i would ever write Marlene/Evan fairytale aus

awww anon this makes me so happy, thank you for telling me!! I'm so unbelievably glad that my silly little game motivated you to write for pleasure.

as much as I love the community aspect of fandom, there's definitely something to be said for playing in the sandbox alone, and cursed ships/crackships can be so helpful for encouraging raw creativity! I definitely judge myself/my writing less when I'm writing cursed ships because I'm already starting from a place of absurdity (but also flexing a lot of practical creative muscles when I ask myself 'okay but how do I make this one work?')
