This was genuinely hilarious actually. Whoever made the game (best video game story ever btw. by a lot) should have made it better it's a shame we don't know who was responsible (for making the best video game ever)

i just rewatched the first episode and the opening of the game back to back since im writing a paper essentially about this post for one of my classes and i will ADMIT that the show differentiates itself from the game more than i remembered but there's also sequences that are 100% just like why am i watching this again. what is this adding

i think it is so funny seeing other peoples tlou takes because theyre all talking about the story and universe and characters and im here after every episode thinking about whether strict adherence to the source material when it comes to video game adaptations is a disservice to the resulting adaptation (yes) or if creators of a piece of media should even be involved in an adaptation (maybe??) or if its ethical to credit a single person for a game made by an entire studio (NO) or if video games that are already made to be cinematic even need to be adapted??? Like i keep coming back to ask what the point of making the show even is because if its to bring the story to people who never would have played the game then why recreate scenes shot for shot and if its for fans of the game why even make the show they already played it. its literally so fucking boring seeing discussions immediately post ep where all anyones saying is "wow that followed the game so closely looking forward to seeing how they recreate the next thing!" Why are you watching this. Are you giving them a grade? Bonus points for saying the thing? and like craig mazin says it's because theres no reason to change something that already works but is that even a valid point when the main thing it achieves is generating hundreds of clickbait articles about the newest episode's easter eggs and a bunch of videos putting the scenes next to each other so people can marvel at how close they are like did i miss when everyone decided that the worst thing an adaptation could possibly be is transformative?? why does this show exist i dont understand!!!!!!!!!
