As we mentioned before, for Mao Week this time, we’re holding a contest! And for this contest, the idea is to pick one of these two manga panels to color!

You can submit your entries by posting your submission and tagging it #maoweekcontest - this is very important, because otherwise we won’t be able to find it and count it!!! Submissions will be counted until Thursday May 7th, so if you want to participate make sure we’ve found your entry by then!

Voting will be counted in the number of likes on each manga coloring, and you’ll have Friday and Saturday to go through all the submissions and cast your final likes before the winner is announced on Sunday May 10th.

And don’t forget, the prize for the winner is an artwork of any Mao character of your choice, done by me, co-mod @artistefish!!

For a late, late Mao Week Day 6, it’s Kamon~

I enjoy analyzing morally grey characters like this guy. He’s taken on a sort of ‘enemy of my enemy’ role and joined up with Mao for the time being, but how long will that last? It’s a fun guessing game.

I’m actually not as happy with this piece as I’d like - Ikemen are hard to draw!! Side profiles are hard to draw!!! Why did I do this to myself….

I love Tenko soooo much! She’s so pretty and nice, but isn’t afraid to omnom somebody when attacked, making her really cool too!!

I really hope she and Nanoka get to spend some more time together - growing up without a mother, I’m sure our heroine could use a cool big sis in her life especially for advice on all the dokidokis Mao’s been giving her lately ^///^

We haven’t seen Tenko in color yet (as far as I know), so I had guess her colors. Regarding the fluff around her neck… it seems she can use leaves and the like to create offshoots of herself to a degree (as seen when she sent an SOS to Mao and co.), so I thought it’d be cute if she made use of one as a fashionable muffler in the winter~

This is of course, a late Mao Week Day 5 entry.

For Mao Week Day 4, it’s Hyakka! I accidentally drew him in the same position as his headshot nnOOOO

When he first appeared I wasn’t very fond of him, but after rereading the available chapters he grew on me ^^;;

We know he’s younger than Mao, but I feel like he’s a year or two younger than Nanoka even (maybe 12-13?), so it makes me sad to think he lost an eye at such an age ;;.;;

While drawing, I had an especially hard time getting Nanoka to look like ‘Nanoka’ in my mind - the ears forced me to tweak her haircut arrangement, so maybe that was it? ^^;;
