My Reylo family will appreciate that in-between working on Forces Intertwined Pt. 2, I was able to do seven days on the set of White Noise as background in Aug. 2021. In one scene, I was the only BG with Adam (and Don Cheadle). I had an embarrassing run-in (literally) with Adam that still makes me cringe, but I wouldn't trade the whole experience of watching him work for anything.

If you don't blink in a few of the grocery store scenes, you'll see your humble author in a blue coat.

“Is this real?” Her voice wavered, nearly failing her. Still, the question was essential. To drink up his allure in silence any longer would drive her mad.

“Yes.”

In this secluded sphere of existence, his whisper was as familiar as her own. It was the voice Rey had heard in her head every single day of the last six months. This time, she was certain he did not lie.

“Are you doing this?”

“No.”

Another truth, one confirmed by the equally lost look in his endless eyes. Of course, the question had been practically rhetorical. Rey had known the answer before the asking.

“This is my fault,” Rey nodded with hopeless certainty. “I let it back in. I let you back in.”

Frantically, she turned toward the soundless sway of the greenery behind her. Help her, it pained Rey to her core to see him this way, to stand beneath that singular but exquisite beauty the way she had once when things had been so different.

All at once, a terrible thought splintered Rey’s pain. Yes, today was the day Luke liked to mediate on High Point Rock, thankfully on the whole other side of the island, and he usually stayed there until nightfall. But the sun was already low. What if he came back early? What if he came to her training field to check on her?

Nearly tripping over her own feet, Rey dashed to the tree line and scoured the thicket that separated them from the camp. When she spoke again, it was more to the Force than him.

“No more. This can’t happen again.”

“Something tells me we don’t have much say in the matter.”

“But it is no matter,” the growling continued, its vitriol recoiling for some later strike. “That is not why I have summoned you here today. I allow you a final chance to redeem yourself. Something has come to light that takes precedence, something that will ensure our victory, Luke Skywalker and the girl be damned.”

Kylo’s eyes darted up in muted curiosity. The shift was not something he had anticipated, and certainly not something they had discussed before. It also gave Kylo the bitter impression that his castigation had been more for Snoke’s pleasure than out of any real necessity, a matter of habit that could have been omitted altogether.

“Priceless information has come into my possession, acquired from one of our more recent terrestrial conquests. Since the fall of the Empire, I have spent the entirety of my scholarship looking for it in every holocron and artifact.”

Genuine intrigue snuffed out Kylo’s loathing like a candle. “What have you found?”

“Affirmation. Fortuitous affirmation. Somewhere in the galaxy is a secret location that harbors an ancient weapon. Make no mistake, whoever controls this weapon will possess unlimited power over the entire galaxy.”

“An ancient weapon?”

“It has existed since the dawn of time, as old as the Force itself. Both the Jedi and the Sith told of it in their histories. Most was speculation, but a select few confirmed its existence. The Emperor himself sought it until the very end of his reign. My own pursuit revealed that only the Emperor and Lord Vader knew the secret location, though their efforts to harness the weapon were, needless to say, unsuccessful.”

“Vader…” Kylo repeated, the name ringing strangely foreign. “What is this weapon?”

“What is irrelevant at this time,” Snoke evaded, his yellowed underbite rising in his sunken mouth. “Where is all that currently concerns you. And a name: the Vergence Scatter.”
