#did it turn out how I imagined it? no BUT I DID IT! #from the right: #magnus darryl hardwon beverly ron moonshine taako henry merle and glenn! #it’s the campaign one characters from the dnd podcasts ‘dungeons and daddies’ ‘the adventure zone’ and ‘not another dnd podcast’! #and in this drawing… WELL they were supposed to interact more clearly? like idk how well what they’re doing comes across? #but I mean Darryl hardwon and magnus all had issues about their heights at one point or another. that’s what they’re sorta fighting about #I imagine Ron ‘winning’ some bad berries from prankster Beverly #moonshine is being ratatouilled by pawpaw as they ruin taako’s dinner as he is distracted by Henry who wants to add his one thing #Merle and Glenn both have one eye and one special arm I think they’re just playing around with each other #idk if anyone’s gonna read this but now it’s there if anyone is curious as to what the heck they’re looking at!

I recently came across your "cool teen bear" drawing again and I was wondering if you have more teen odads hot takes?

Thank you for asking ive been thinking about this for many months now and this is the conclusion lmao

Okay so obviously this is without the knowledge of what happens at the end of atmod and the current season cause haven’t listened to the entirety of any of them. This is just me having fun!

First up their designs!

So first of all the odads all give off vibes from different time periods you know? Inspired by atmod I’ve assigned teen!Willy 50’s, teen!Billy is 70’s and Barry is an elf so I kinda just reused what I had for him!

Then their backgrounds! Also based on my knowledge of what we’ve been told in the first campaign and atmod.

I imagine Willy as a skrunkly kid? A lil wild child? A troublemaker who preferred to always be out of the house. And also I imagine him growing up poor, which is in contrast to how I imagine Bill’s upbringing. We know that there’re some famous people in that family and maybe also some money! I imagine Bill as a real laid back kid who’s is spoiled rotten but prefers the company of these weird boys he found.

How they all met!!

Idk it’s portals you guys. Willy was poofed 20 years into the future, befriended Bill. BOOM ONE DAY another weird kid appears in their forest. They now have a gang. Thus is the story bye

“Darryl had slept next to Henry and Mercedes a few times and then with Henry and Glenn, of course, but never with all of them together. It felt right. Safe. 

The afternoon light bled through the blinds, dappling the bed as wind moved trees in the backyard. The fan hummed above them.

Mercedes was the first to fall asleep, snoring lightly, her face tilted towards her husband. Darryl couldn’t see Henry’s expression but saw it in his mind’s eye, the gentle reverence of his gaze on her. He reached out to settle a hand on Glenn’s hip, and he was out soon too, forehead resting on Mercedes’ shoulder.

Darryl peeked over at Glenn. His eye was closed but Darryl knew what he sounded like when he was truly asleep. With a start, he realized he’d taken off the eyepatch— he’d never seen Glenn without it. 

“Hey,” he murmured, voice barely audible over the shush of the fan and Henry and Mercedes’ breathing. Glenn looked over at him. 

Sure you’re okay? he mouthed. He knew they were waiting to talk properly but he had to check. 

Glenn studied him for a long moment, face soft in the faint light. His head rose and fell gently with Mercedes’ breathing, his hair shaking into his face. He didn’t move to fix it. 

Gonna be okay, he mouthed back. Promise. 

Darryl’s throat got tight again. He nodded and watched as Glenn drifted off as well. 

He fought against sleep for a long while, not wanting to forget the way he felt at this moment. He watched shadows dance on the wall until his eyes closed.”

I commissioned the incredible @martineisling to design a cover illustration for my fic Emergency Contact and!!!!!!! 🥺🥺 I mean what can I ever SAY!!! The details??? (THE TAROT CARDS!!!!) Their sweet little faces?! Martine’s designs have always been these characters in my mind’s eye when I’m writing so seeing them here like this is such a gift.
