idk if the guy just lives near me or if he's driving around trying to see me, or if i'm paranoid (that'd be the preferable alternative), but this time he was in a weird place as i walked my route. like he didn't need to take that side road when the main 2 run perpendicular--i don't have any other explanation. and presuming the best gets women killed. the second time i saw him, i thought i'd memorized his schedule--he drives down the main at 8:35pm-ish in that terracotta&cream pickup, but this evening he was off-schedule. even someone not paying close attention would know the general vicinity of where i live by now. between this and the first few times, he's tried to wave at me as he passed me on the main road (which was during the day, not part of the schedule i'm familiar with.) i just keep my head down. i find myself paying more attention to oncoming cars and what they look like. i'm also paying attention to other cars in case they're In League. i know that sounds hella paranoid. i don't know this person. i don't wanna Get Got just because i want to exercise in fresh air and leave my house. stalking is illegal but what i've seen of him technically isn't. naturally i plan to snap his plate numbers if i get the chance. it's not like i've ruled out that he also lives nearby, but stuff doesn't add up--especially that first and this most recent incident. i'm just always looking for him whenever i'm out.

I was walking around a few minutes ago, as I do, and a truck started going back and forth near where I was. I avoided the street, held up my phone, texted someone, attempted to get a few of his truck. He circled back once more, finally rolled down his window, and I think he asked for gas. He could've genuinely meant it, and might've just been looking for someone else to ask. Or my instincts were right about his suspicious movements. Knowing what we know, that was probably the safer bet. I had my phone out, didn't proceed straight to my house, because I didn't want him knowing where I live. No fire or police nearby. Maybe he saw the phone and decided against anything more sinister. I think anyone in his position would've known to avoid addressing a woman on the street at night, let alone trying her several times, no matter his gas situation. If his circling meant he was on the fence about his approach, it's not for me to figure out. Thing is, this could've happened during the day (I know it's less-likely, because nobody can get away with as much.) I get the practical reasons for taking safety measures, even avoiding nightwalks altogether. I had a pocket full of sand and a fistful of rocks, my phone taking pictures and texting after that vehicle's second suspicious circle (there were probably 6 in total.) And I've been doing my loops, both night and day, for years without any problems, but I guess the statistic that you're more likely to get assaulted by someone you know doesn't have to reference a specific number.

I just think it's unfair. It's 2023, and this is as much our world as it is theirs. We shouldn't have to share less of it than they do, be confined to a mere percentage of what they're allowed, go out only with a chaperone. It only takes one or two violent ones to ruin the experience for everybody. That's how they stay in control, how streets are kept unsafe. Worst is, you get blamed whether you're trustful or distrustful. I'm safe, but that's *not* all that matters. I deserve to be free.

Cellar spiders are known especially for eating other spiders including those of the same species and have no trouble eating spiders their own size and larger. They rely primarily on their web for initially trapping the prey, and then they zoom in to wrap it in silk and give it a venomous bite to immobilize it and start the digestion process.

They also sometimes venture into the webs of other spiders and make a ruckus, pretending to be trapped, and eat the other spider when it comes to eat them.
