GET TO KNOW ME MEMEΒ β‘ bands βΒ FLORENCE + THE MACHINE
βSometimes I find that music is so much more attractive than love. I donβt knowβ¦ Itβs like some kind of euphoria, that love canβt bring to you.β
Mercymorn would have loved Florence and the Machine, specifically the cover of Stand By Me they did for Final Fantasy XV. You can't tell me she wouldn't listen to it and think of Cristabel.
hey gals. i know posting edits is not a thing thatβs done here but i have not made a mercymorn post in too long soβ¦ this is my contribution for the month!! credits in alt below the cut, the other credits are on ig under arolilith.

when does john violate mercymorn's boundaries publicly?
in chapter 6 of HtN when he reunites with her!
But the Emperor wrapped his arms around his Lyctor as though she were a precious and runaway child; he pressed her to him, drawing down the hood and tousling that overripe rose-tinted hair, heedless of the curtseying, bowing Cohort officers in the wake of his passage. She froze as though dipped in liquid nitrogen. He said something that you couldnβt catch, and then: βThank you for your work here. Youβve done well.β The Saint of Joy was ramrod straight and still, as though her feet had been fixed to the docking-bay floor with big steel pins.
this is pretty indicative woman who did not want to be touched, especially not in front of Sarpedon and the Cohort that she'd already been arguing with. i also don't think John "drawing down [her] hood" and tousling her hair is insignificant, either; she's very careful with her appearance and wears that cloak pretty tightly around herself throughout the book. its significance to her station (along with proper saint titles vs. their real names) seems to be important to her, which is doubly sad when we think about how John took it off of her dead body later on.
