My unsolicited headcanon about der Tod's veil
Please note that my headcanon only applies to 2 productions: Original Vienna (1992) and Vienna Revival I (2004).
The first appearance of the veil occurs in Act 2 during Die Schatten werden länger, and the next time the veil is seen is during the Mayerling Walzer. If you have sharp eyes and pay close attention, you can observe der Tod draping the veil over his shoulders and then covering Rudolf’s body with it after the prince’s suicide. From that point onwards until the end of the musical, the veil does not appear again.
Tumblr media
The question arises as to why der Tod used the veil when he met Rudolf in his carriage during Die Schatten werden länger.
Tumblr media
Now, let’s go back to when Rudolf was a child. When the little prince asks him to stay, der Tod responds, “I’ll stay close to you.” Due to this promise, it is likely that der Tod and Rudolf would meet again before decades pass and the prince grows up. This is based on the timeline rather than what the audience sees on stage. It is highly possible that der Tod was often with Rudolf, more so than with Elisabeth, as Rudolf was easier for him to manipulate.
We all know that der Tod does not have a fixed appearance but can take on different forms depending on who is allowed to see him. For example, in Die letzte Chance/Maladie, der Tod appears as a doctor to Elisabeth. This suggests that der Tod could be anyone around Elisabeth and Rudolf, making it impossible to recognize him. So how did Rudolf recognize der Tod in the Die Schatten werden länger? The answer lies in the veil.
It is possible that der Tod appeared in a different form when Rudolf encountered him during that time. The veil served as a symbol for Rudolf to identify that the person before him was der Tod.
To further support this argument, let’s consider the Mayerling Walzer. In this waltz, the Death Angels and der Tod resemble Mary Vetsera and are indistinguishable. So how does Rudolf know which one is the “Mary” he seeks to embrace? Once again, the answer lies in the same veil that is draped over der Tod’s shoulders. The kiss of death occurs, Rudolf pulls the trigger, and der Tod covers the prince’s body with the veil. After this point, the veil does not appear again because der Tod no longer requires it.

The story goes that there was an actor who had the boldness or privilege to sit on a director's lap. This actor's Dalamar had five unhealed wounds on his chest. Then things escalated quickly. And we realized that the Dalamar in hell was the true Dalamar, the loyal apprentice of Raistlin Majare who had been slayed for knowing too much.
Tumblr media
Warning: Character's death.
Warning: This has nothing to do with the original Dalamar in the books and apparently, probably, has little to do with what the producers/actors intended to convey. This is just my headcanons about what had happened to Dalamar in the musical, since I've realised he just disappeared after his aria, and only returned in the Abyss under a much more twisted appearance.
I myself has several different theories about this, one of which includes my logic in how Nightmare-Dalamar was not the real Dalamar but only a hallucination of Raistlin that came true. However, in this post I'm talking about another theory of mine, which is that he was revealed to either side (the Conclave or Raistlin) to be a double agent, and thus he was punished for what he did - highly chance by the Conclave, and then ended up in the Abyss.
Click below to read my logic in what happened to Dalamar in the musical. Based on his appearance in the second act.
Yarik!Dalamar (revival 2018): Burned alive.
When you burn a human body for too long, all that's left is the bone. Everything else is gone. This Dalamar had half of is body a skeleton from the beginning of the musical. Apparently the producers wanted to convey his duplicity, but I took it a little further so maybe this Dalamar had been burned once, before his very first appearance on stage, probably from his Test given by Raistlin where he had to fight with a dragon. When appeared in the Abyss, his skull-like side of his face was even more distorted, while the other side of his face was smeared with black ink/soot - could be interpretted that he was exposed to heat. And his hair was unravelled, more straw-like, as if it had been burnt. Yarik!Dalamar (revival 2021 - 16.05): Eyes torn out.
Excluding the possibility of Raistlin punishing his student, because on Stairway stage they seemed to have a good relationship and Raistlin had departed for Istar before Dalamar sang his aria. So there's only the chance of Dalamar being executed by the Conclave for being double-sided. In that day's specific performance Dalamar was wearing Raistlin's clothes (his black robe), so he could be considered to "have seen too much". His both smearing eyes like crying black tears could be interpretted that his eyes were torn out.
Ruslan!Dalamar (revival 2021 - 12.12): Clawed.
The 4 scratches on this Dalamar's face when he showed up in the Abyss looked like scratches from some kind of wild beast. When an animal scratches, it usually leaves 4 lines. A beast capable of killing an elf like Dalamar could only be a dragon or a similar mythical creature. Apparently this Dalamar was left stranded with neither power nor weapon before he was devoured alive.
Pavel!Dalamar (revival 2022 - 10.04): Mouth slit.
This is the only Dalamar on stage (in Stairway production) who had 5 marks left on his chest, all of which apparently were caused by Raistlin - either directly or not. This Dalamar intentionally showed these wounds for Raistlin to recognise him in the Abyss. According to Raistlin's plan, Dalamar had to lie to the Conclave. His bloody mouth when he re-appeared in the Abyss showed that he could have been revealed to be helping Raistlin and the Conclave decided to slit his mouth. All of which fuelled his desire to revenge Raistlin in the Abyss.
Pavel!Dalamar (revival 2022) : Burned alive.
Similar to Yarik!Dalamar 2018, but with 5 marks on his chest and according to the logic above it could be interpretted that he was burned as a punishment.
Gradusov!Dalamar (2023): Skinned and dismembered.
The Etherius stage had a scene where Raistlin actually eliminated his own student, so it was obviously confirmed that the new Dalamar was killed by his shalafi. However, this scene was quick and quiet, so maybe his death was actually a quick one, and what happened to his corspe was left unknown. When he appeared in the Abyss, he showed fragments of skull and teeth from both sides of his face, but also his face muscles. So he was not burned, but skinned. Among characters that appeared in the Abyss, he was the only one who walked like a puppet. So I suspect his corspe was dismembered before he was assembled again - probably by Takhisis - like a rag doll.
Once again these are just my headcanons based on the actors' make-up and ways of acting. Feel free to share your own ideas ;)

When viewers watch a mockumentary, they simultaneously watch a documentary and a movie with fictional events. A pair of odd brothers are the subject of the movie Brothers of The Head, which was produced by ordinary people. The two brothers were distinct from everyone who seemed to be talking about them. Inadvertently, the audience unconsciously views the two brothers as normal people would view abnormal ones.
The intention of the filmmakers is what causes the sexualization and eroticism in various ways, whether overtly or through subtexts, or through the way the two are filmed – blurs the lines between them, such perspectives show that they are practically glued together without any spaces. The audience is also intentional. Only the brothers, Barry & Tom, are unintentional. They have a world of their own, particularly when considering the circumstances of growing up in a desolated place with only an absent father and a devoted sister, and then being abruptly whisked away at the age of 16 or 17 to a strange world, without any preparation. Obviously, the two brothers have a way of communicating, coaxing and protecting each other. And we have no right to know because we are not them.

Ok the story is that while watching some bootlegs from Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake tour in China, I noticed something that was not so well captured on any proshots. The connection between The Prince and The Swan in Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake is characterized by a profound sense of acceptance and consent. Dominic North, who has portrayed The Prince for approximately 15 years, embodies his character with a deep understanding. In the depicted GIFs, he subtly adds a nod before embracing The Swan, as if he is softly asking, in a whisper only The Swan can hear, “May I embrace you?” The Swan allows it, although not reciprocating the embrace.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When confronted with confusion during the encounter with The Stranger at The Royal Ball, The Prince once again seeks solace in the consensual nod, perhaps desperately wishing that The Stranger were The Swan and that the other person would recognize him as before.
In the final act, The Swan reappears, now burdened with guilt for betraying The Prince by assuming the form of The Stranger, as well as for protecting another species from his own flock. Reunited, The Prince extends the nod once more, conveying forgiveness and recognition to The Swan. This time, The Swan embraces The Prince with his wings, symbolizing a deeper connection and reconciliation.

''I believe there is another world waiting for us. A better world. And I'll be waiting for you there.''
Of course I know how things ended up for their characters in those films that they'd starred in together, but my damned imagination can't stop thinking about how Ben Whishaw's characters - even in the form of a little bear - managed to find Hugh Grant's characters and even ended up becoming his wife at some point in the timeline. I don't know how but they need to cast Ben for Knives Out 3. Things gonna be lit.
