Hi, Tumblr. It’s Tumblr. We’re working on some things that we want to share with you.
AI companies are acquiring content across the internet for a variety of purposes in all sorts of ways. There are currently very few regulations giving individuals control over how their content is used by AI platforms. Proposed regulations around the world, like the European Union’s AI Act, would give individuals more control over whether and how their content is utilized by this emerging technology. We support this right regardless of geographic location, so we’re releasing a toggle to opt out of sharing content from your public blogs with third parties, including AI platforms that use this content for model training. We’re also working with partners to ensure you have as much control as possible regarding what content is used.
Here are the important details:
We already discourage AI crawlers from gathering content from Tumblr and will continue to do so, save for those with which we partner.
We want to represent all of you on Tumblr and ensure that protections are in place for how your content is used. We are committed to making sure our partners respect those decisions.
To opt out of sharing your public blogs’ content with third parties, visit each of your public blogs’ blog settings via the web interface and toggle on the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.
For instructions on how to opt out using the latest version of the app, please visit this Help Center doc.
Please note: If you’ve already chosen to discourage search crawling of your blog in your settings, we’ve automatically enabled the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.
If you have concerns, please read through the Help Center doc linked above and contact us via Support if you still have questions.
“Did you know that corn is a kind of grass? Well, it is!”
Oh boy! The big local summer Corn Festival has just started, and the Corn Cob Guy is here to tell you all about it. You might not have heard about the festival yet, but it’s really huge news around where he lives. People come from all of the surrounding counties just to eat, meet, and talk about one thing: corn!
Being the Corn Cob Guy is a big responsibility. He’s got to know lots of corn-related trivia and always keep his costume clean and shiny so that he can give the very best impression of corn. He’s even been practicing acting like an ear of corn. He just hopes it doesn’t get too hot out – he wouldn’t want his costume to start popping!
If you’ve got a major mystery to solve, the Detective is your minifigure. He’s famed across the land for his amazing deductive skills, and he never gives up on a case, no matter how impossible it may at first appear. He just whips out his magnifying glass, follows the clues, and always arrives at the right solution in the end.
You may have heard of some of the Detective’s most famous cases. He’s the one who single-handedly solved the Brickster’s Baffling Brick-Napping, the Sam Sinister Switcheroo, and the Mystery of Timmy’s Nose. Why, he even tracked down a missing pet from the Racing Drome…and robot monkeys don’t leave footprints!
LEGO pick and build got minifig pieces from the newest ninjago series, so if anyone wanna get Cryus Borg or any of the other characters from the sets, now's your chance!
The Shark Suit Guy watched a scary shark movie once, and he’s been afraid of them ever since. For a long time, he didn’t dare go into the water at the beach, and he even avoided swimming pools and bathtubs just in case. He was worried that he might run into sharks everywhere he went — sharks on the left, sharks on the right, mutant sharks, laser sharks, cyborg sharks, sharks on land, sea and air.
But then he started to learn more about sharks and how important they are for the ocean’s ecology, and he found out that they’re not so scary after all. In fact, they’re pretty cool! To celebrate his newfound appreciation for his finny friends, he’s decided to dress up like a shark himself. Now the Shark Suit Guy may still get a little jumpy whenever he passes a mirror, but at least he knows that if he runs into a real shark, it’ll think he’s a pal!
