Tour guide Tuesday featuring Houdini the Pumpkin! 

…Okay, so Houdini isn’t actually one of our tour guides, but was featured in a photo series submitted by Maddy Stevens ‘23, showcasing on-campus dorm rooms. COA’s on-campus housing is a mix of former seaside estates, cottages, and newer buildings designed to encourage community living. They’re pretty darn cute–even when Houdini escapes!

Maddy lives in the Kathryn W. Davis Village which is our newest and greenest housing complex. All six houses have a living room, kitchen, and dining area in addition to seven dorm rooms with communal bathrooms (featuring composting toilets). Hello Instagram friends! So recently I have been very much interested in environmental work and helping the planet! So I encourage you to help the planet in any way you can! What can you do, you ask? Well first off you can recycle! 🌎Those plastic bottles that you recycle can be made into felt that I use to make cat hats and other plastic bottles can also be used to make @patagonia jackets that can help someone keep warm! And the aluminum cans you recycle can potentially be used to build airplane parts or other items made with the same metal. The paper you recycle can be used to make more paper! That's right, the header cards on items you purchase from #Missmaddymakes are all created from recycled paper that you can actually purchase at your local @staples! 🌏 Another way you can help out is by driving less. Try not to keep your car stalled and running with the air conditioning on in the parking lot as well. Every little bit helps! 🌍 One more idea of a way to help out is by donating to funds like @wwf! You will receive a free gift if you donate only a minimum of $16! I already have a cute umbrella coming in mail! 🌏 Do you want to help the earth and get an item for your cat? Check back on Missmaddymakes every month to see what cause I will be donating to!
