Lessons learned: 1. You can make a giant sweater in 10 days if you work 15 hours a day but it’s not advisable. 2. Adhesives don’t work in sub zero temperatures. 3. That includes Velcro. 4. And duct tape. 5. Fastening 200 safety pins in 12’ really hurts your fingers. But having a tremendous team made it so much easier. HUGE thanks to @stephieo10 , Ethan, Alex and Seamus for helping me install this gigantic sweater on Monday. 96. That’s how many sweaters were deconstructed to create this 13’ tall, 10’ wide sculpture. The sweaters, sourced from thrift stores in philadelphia, were cut into pieces then sewn back together like a patchwork quilt. The Build Back Better Sweater was created for @lcvoters to thank the New Hampshire delegation for their support of the Build Back Better Act. While the legislation was stalled last week the League of Conservation Voters will continue to fight for the act to become law.
