Being as Dracula Daily is starting up again in about three days, I think this is a perfect opportunity, as we follow along this year, to play the PG-13 game.

For the unfamiliar, the PG-13 game is as follows: you are allowed to insert one and only one instance of the word "fuck" into the text as written. For maximum impact, where do you put it?

Here's my depiction of the zomargon, from @maniculum's Bestiaryposting. Mostly doodles, because a) I'd had trouble thinking of something I wanted to draw for this and b) it's unpleasantly hot in our apartment today so I had trouble thinking of anything whatsoever, but I like what I ended up with.

The design here is pretty basic. I took the general form of an ungulate, since it's a mammal that lives in herds, then gave it stiff legs, large feet, boar tusks, and a really long nose. I earlier had the idea of the trunk ending in a hand, but I decided to go with a trumpet shape instead.

Then, the doodles. THIS is the asexual icon, "no desire to mate", and it's much nicer to be in a Pride parade than in a battle, so that's what I drew the people doing. (The blue skin is just my default for when I don't have anything specific in mind.) And then there's the zomargon being startled by a mouse (not to scale), which I included because it was simple to draw, and also it amused me. I know EXACTLY the sound it would make there, because I played french horn for a few years in grade school so I'm quite familiar with all the non-musical noises you can get out of brass instruments, but I don't know how to describe it as anything other than "sound that will make your dog run out of the living room while you're learning to play french horn" (true story).

We as a whole need to understand that

there's no such thing as a "useless" species

and even if there was by some arbitrary anthropocentric metric (has no direct economic value, has the potential to cause harm, is preventing stakeholders from building on valuable land, etc) that would still not be a reason to let it go extinct

(inb4 someone comments about mosquitoes/ticks/spiders/cockroaches/sunfishes/koalas/pandas/whatever animal you hate or were told to hate by the internet)

Jed portrayed the shapeshifting alien taking the form of a Norwegian dog in John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982). Jed was half-wolf, half Alaskan Malamute, and according to Carpenter, was an excellent animal actor—after becoming familiar with the cast and crew, he would not look at the camera, crew, or dolly during scenes. Jed’s quiet manner perfectly reflected the alien’s unsettling nature. Jed would go on to act in a few other movies, and lived on his trainer Clint Rowe’s animal sanctuary until his death at age eighteen—quite old for a dog of his breed.

I really need to start making my whiteboard drawings smaller, or at least not spend so much time on a sketch AVJDBK–

I wanted to do more stuff today on the Whiteboard (made by @00lari00) but I wanted to add Accordion and Violin to it first. So I added their stick forms...and got carried away with their human forms

ngl, I do love the bigger sketch I worked on, but by GOD I gave up trying to colour the clothes because Whiteboard is homophobic (/j) and won't let us have access to the Fill Tool. But really, I gotta stop doing a sketch before doing the art if I wanna be faster at this...but I caaaaaan't–
