          so   she   would   nod ,      a   slow ,      lethargic   sort   of   movement   as   empty   blue   eyes   would   meet   his   gaze .      blinked   slowly .      “      i   can   take   care   of   them .      ”      a   confident   answer      —      sure   of   herself ,      although   perhaps   that   certainty   was   rather   unfounded   considering   her   lack   of   successful   experiences   with   pets .

          she   liked   the   idea   of   the   garden   of   fake   flowers ,      though      —      especially   if   they   could   be   made   to   smell   like   the   real   ones .      that   way   they   wouldn’t   need   to   die .      “      a   flower   garden   would   be   good ,      though .      as   many   colors   as   you   can   find .      &&   if   you   think   he   could ,      i’d   like   if   they   smelled   real .      ”      had   only   actually   met   the   reverand   once .      not   long   enough   to   know   much   more   than   that   he’s   the   owner   of   the   building .      likely   the   one   who   gets   final   say   in   anything   that   happens   there .

NO THIRD PARTY TO worry about getting in the way, to take things away from her like the police did oh so recently, nothing to disrupt current or future plans. The whole floor was Rachel’s canvas whilst she was the artist, perhaps a luxury considering her life prior to being accepted by Grey; an unruly household, everything taken away from her and forced into a program in an attempt to “fix” her. Now was she able to rebuild everything taken whether for the better or worse, but through thick and thin Daniel would be beside her.

❝I trust you, Rachel; I’ll ask the Reverend and see if he’ll allow dogs on your floor.❞ Though he doubts it’ll be an issue so long as she properly tends to them and keeps them alive, and it isn’t any skin off Danny’s back if he’d be put in charge of purchasing and acquiring dog food or the likes. 

A hum rumbles in his chest and he nods quietly, fingers moving to adjust glasses that threatened to fall onto the ground. ❝I doubt that’ll be an issue either! Though I was thinking of getting real flowers so it lightens the atmosphere up, you know; but considering you may be having dogs roam around that’ll be an issue, huh?❞ Those could be easily trampled upon if not paying any attention, and thus there goes that thought into the abyss.
