Her father was that bad, he insulted Hinata in front of her sensei and openly called her loser and said the clan didn’t need Hinata when she was going on about the dangers being a genin no different then saying it was alright for Hinata to die. This was Hinata’s own father do have any idea how somthing like that would affect a child. 

You then have the fact that even Neji treats Hinata badly and even willing to go as far as to almost kill her. He even plays mind games using all her insecurities to try and break her down. 

As for social anxiety Hinata has always been shy and had trouble expressing herself. Hinata was never close with the others in her class socially nor is shown even being friends with anyone during their pre genin days. Is insecure about her ability and being compared to her sister. Fears being criticised, avoid eye contact and has low self esteem.  Sweating, trembling and a pounding heartbeat are also symptoms of social anxiety while it was caused by Neji’s words it does not change that it shows the insecurities she has and is worried about  appearing incompetent.

Oh so true that really triggers me Hinata is the most modest characters ever which only makes me like her more. The reason I love Hinata is cause of personality first and for most. While Hinata does have good body, she has never shown it off like some other characters that if you showed Hinata to pretty much anyone else they wouldn’t be able to tell what she was hiding under her clothes.

Literally Hinata is the most modest when it comes to clothing and the only times people see what is under her jacket is when she is getting treated which has happend only twice in the series.How can we only like Hinata for her body when she never shows. Even in the last when Hinata starts being more confident she is still the most modest out of the girls. Every person who likes Hinata, likes her cause of her personality and determination cause those are what we always see from her.

Lets see Hinata was basically emotionally abused and her father treated her like dirty and had no interest in Hinata at all, she also spent years having him crush her confidence. Do you really think he would have listened if Hinata confronted him about it, in fact it would be miracle if her father even takes a few seconds to talk to Hinata. 

Saying Hinata was submissive just cause her father and entire clan abused her emotionally and psychological is wrong. She didn’t accept that she was a failure she kept trying to change herself and succeeded. Neji never truly accepted being a slave hence why he almost killed Hinata and played mind games with her and mistreating her.

This was the culture of the house she grew up in, and a lot of aristocratic families raise their children like this. Hinata grew up thinking her entire life was a mistake; was told she was weak and useless as an heir. When you’re told this as a young child, would it not make you lack self worth?
