Leon with a shy s/o

The courting process

-Leon knew you were shy. He could tell by the way you made yourself smaller around other people, how you barely spoke up, how you avoided people's gazes.

-He thinks it's cute.

-He'll place his gaze on you when you aren't facing him, watching as you do whatever it is that you're doing. He's far too focused on your movements to pay attention to what they're for.

-One time he tried to strike up a conversation with you and it…well, it definitely was somewhat of a conversation. You wouldn't meet his gaze, you would barely speak up enough for him to hear you. You were clearly uncomfortable, so he backs down. He acts like he forgot he has to do something and is in a rush and says goodbye to you. He does this so you don't feel guilt about the situation.

-He's not sure how to court you at first. He can continue to try talking to you, but he didn't like seeing how uncomfortable you were when being forced into a social situation.

-So he just tries to help you out. Picking up papers that fly off your desk when someone opens a window, bringing you a drink when he notices your water bottle is empty.

-It lures you in just enough to begin to grow comfortable around him. Your soft thank yous and greetings soon become more clear.

-Soon enough, he's having a full blown conversation with you. You're still oh-so sweet, like you're afraid of saying the wrong thing.

-When you're finally comfortable enough around him to let loose, his heart swells. You're making a playful joke, letting out a laugh afterwards as your hand slaps your knee, your eyes twinkling in delight.

-This you when you get to be yourself to the fullest. It's something that he strives to see more of.

-He'll make jokes around you, just to see you laugh. Some of them are so bad that you can't help but tell him that.

-Despite the tiny insult to his jokes, he's happy. You're comfortable enough around him to say parts of what you're thinking.

-The courting process is a slow one, he doesn't want to undo all the progress he's made in becoming your friend.

-He flirts with you. Nothing too big, but there are compliments and cheesy pick-up lines.

-One day you find yourself shaking your head at yet another terrible pick-up line. "You suck at flirting, Leon." you tell him.

- "Ouch." he says, putting his hands over his heart in an exaggerated manner. "I can do better, if you want." he tells you.

-You think nothing of it, "Yeah right."

-He takes it as a little challenge. His flirting becoming more bold.

-He's got you blushing and looking away from him to hide the smile that creeps up to your lips when he says something particularly flirty.

- "You're going to make me fall for you if you keep flirting with me." you joke.

- "That's the plan." he tells you in complete seriousness.

-His confession comes soon afterward, and it's one that you accept.

-"Man, I'm a lucky guy." he'll say to himself once you two start dating and his gaze follows you at your workplace. You don't hear him say that, but it's okay, you don't need to. It doesn't make him any less lucky.

The relationship

-Leon loves you, there is no question in his mind about that fact. He loves how you're comfortable around him, how you can be yourself when it's just the two of you.

-He's willing to do the talking for you. Ordering food? Just tell him what you want and he'll order it for you. Need to make a phone call? He's got you.

-He knows how nervous you can get around people. He finds himself placing his hand against your lower back when you're in a social situation. It's to reassure both of you. For you, it tells you that he's there and everything will be okay. For him, he finds comfort in knowing he's there to protect you should you need him. Maybe that's why he opts for placing his hand on your back instead of holding your hand. If anything goes south, he can just remove his hand and step in front of you.

-Leon knows that you're not some helpless being. He just likes being there to help you. For him, helping you had become one of his favorite tasks. You never have to ask for help, he's always there when you need him.

-He still finds your shyness cute, and sometimes he'll find your shyness appearing when it's just the two of you. When he gets bold and heat rises to your cheeks as you hide yourself to the best of your abilities. It's precious.

-He's so much more bold than you, it makes you question how he ever fell for you.

-When you bring this up, he grabs your hands and intertwines his fingers with yours before he begins listing everything he loves about you. If you don't stop him, you'll be listening to him going on about you for a good thirty minutes. He's not even done saying what he loves about you, thought after thought popping up. But he stops anyways, not wanting to go on so long that you get sick of his voice.

-Leon doesn't have many friends. Most of his 'friends' are his coworkers. He'll invite you to meet them should the occasion arise, but he never forces you to. If you say no and tell him it's okay for him to meet up with them, he traps you beneath him. "I'd rather stay here." he says before planting a kiss on your lips. If you feel guilty about him not going out with his coworkers because of you, he'll just kiss you until you forget about it.

-If you do decide to be bold, this man becomes a mess. He's cocky, but at the same time he's so flustered that he takes a while to make a sassy remark.

-He loves all sides of you. Your shy side, your bold side, every single aspect of you is something that he loves.

-Leon will never regret falling in love with you and spending months trying to court you. It was probably the best decision he has made in his life. You're worth the effort.
