I had a dream that it became a social norm to buy your lgbt teenager a ball python when they came out of the closet. Like, zero explanation other than queers love snakes.
Maybe Pterodontia sp? I'd never seen any small-headed flies before, and there's only 3 Florida sightings in the family on iNaturalist. Absolutely bizarre chonky creature. Basically no head. Evolution can't keep getting away with this.
I did see this piece of goose egg shell in the water
Separately i saw this duck sized egg in the water
Some of the duck eggs were smashed and one was about ten feet away next to another tree
There was a new set of goslings today. These are much smaller and yellower than the six i saw before so they must be from a different nest. When i saw them i had hoped the nest by the stump had survived somehow, but it seems unlikely since there were no eggshells in the nest.
Under cut i will put a gruesome photo of a… piece of flesh i found by the stump
Theres a duck egg nest and I think a goose egg nest bby the pond by my house. Some eggs were knocked out of it so I don't know if the geese / ducks abandoned it. Gonna go back and get some photos later.
Photos as promised. I moved the goose eggs on the grass back into the nest for the photo, i think they were all abandoned.
And then inside the stump
These were much smaller so i think theyre duck eggs. There are a lot of mallard ducks around here but perhaps they got chased off…
Heres our local newly hatched babies. Six goslings. Thats why i was thinking perhaps they chased off the other geese/ducks although honestly i dont know. Im not a duck expert.
The night before last the temperatures dropped to just below freezing. When i took these photos it was also quite cold and windy. The eggs are almost certainly dead by now.

Hi everyone! I'm very excited for my move to [New City Redacted] to work at [New Aquarium Redacted], and thankfully my personal moving expenses are covered. But with me relocating, my roommate needs a little bit of help in putting down a security deposit and covering other expenses for his own long-distance move elsewhere.
If you all had anything to spare and could help him out, even a small donation would be much appreciated by both of us! If you let me know that you donated, I will even tell you a cool animal fact I've learned in my time as a wildlife educator.
Here's a very cute picture of our beavers to motivate you!~
