Firstly, apologies for the long hiatus. Work and personal life got in the way. But a week after dressing as Jonah Lomu as my childhood hero for a charity day at work, I'm absolutely heartbroken to find out he's passed away, aged just 40. Jonah, this is for you Big Guy. An absolute legend of the game, a lovely man and someone who revolutionised how the game we love is played. There'll be Haka's in heaven tonight. Rest In Peace.

George North scoring a wonder try, and taking the piss doing it. Lions with a lucky win, but this was fantastic to see.

Handsworth RFU - Presidents Day 2013
Not sure what hurts most; playing two full games in a row, the sunburn from doing so, or the 11 pints post game. What a Presidents' Day! P.s. Congrats Leicester Tigers! P.p.s. Dylan Hartley you're a dong.

This weekend's injuries - Scuse the hairy knees but the picture of the left shows the new shape of my knee (follow the left hand side of it, it's kicked to shit) - and the photo on the right shows the swelling in my hand and subsequent lack of knuckles from swelling. We lost, and I only played 25 minutes.

Handsworth 2nd XV - 2013 League Champions!
http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/handsworthrugbyunionfootballclub/s/league-table-21851.html So we won the league! With plenty games to spare and despite only playing four games, I've walked away with top try scorer - with 11 tries.聽 Lewis Taylor Trophy this weekend for the 1st XV and I'm driving up from Bath on the morning of the game. I've got a CD of power ballads and pump up music so hopefully we'll be walking away with two trophies and the clubhouse bar is going to get drunk dry! ALL TOGETHER NOW! Faaaather Abraham, seven sons he had!

Stumbled on this today! The entire 1995 World Cup Final on youtube. Amazing to see the differences between the game then and now.

Apologies (yet again)
Sorry I've taken my time to post on here; I've recently got a job and had to move house and been so tied up with work. Hopefully I'll find time to post things for you all, but bare with me!

Absolutely ridiculous... I mean there's no way that's holding, never a penalty.

Compliments.
Last week after scoring my 2nd try in 2 appearances for my new club's first team, the club secretary came up to me and said;聽 'It's a pleasure watching a young guy like you enjoying his rugby, hitting hard and running fast. The way you handed off those two players to score, you were like a white Jonah Lomu. Except lighter, and less good.' Cheers.

Literally the best 5 minute advert for our sport you could ever wish to see - Fantastic play. After a minute (unless you know who Nanai plays for which I did and ruined it for me) guess which team scores....

Update - Up and Down
So tomorrow is my 6th league game for my new team; a return fixture from my Merit League debut against Wolverhampton RUFC. So far I've maintained a decent scoring record for the 2nd XV for a new guy, and am on 8 tries in 5 appearances. Had a brief flirt with the first team at Wing. Goodness knows why they want a 15st 3lb winger (215lb) who hasn't played their since he was 14 but it was a good experience to get my arse handed to me all game instead of sitting back and soaking up points. Managed to score too somehow. Didn't enjoy the experience if I'm honest as I'd rather get settled before I play 1st again solely because I played out of position, with players I barely know the name of, which any of you at new clubs know, you can't play a new style of rugby on the back of 5 games for the team below and expect to know how everyone plays their own individual game. Anyway, back down to the seconds after an anterior deltoid injury kept me out and again out of position. As much as I'm honoured they have faith in me to play at fly half it's in the absence of the regular skipper, so I've got big boots to fill, with no experience at 10. But I know the 2nds style of play and if I throw in a few loops with the Inside, I can fill in where I'm best and hit the gaps in the middle. Last time we played Wolverhampton I managed to bag a few tries and the two centres outside me tomorrow are good lads. One crashes everything and the other crashes almost everything so a few quick rucks and I'll have my chance to run the ball a little, test the backs. Hoping England can capitalise on a good start and grab the 6N by the balls. Anyone playing this weekend, good luck!
