Hey I’m not over that tiny 10 second subplot in severance that had a woman undergo severance just so she wouldn’t have to feel the pain of childbirth. The thought of a woman existing with no idea of who she is or where she is just to give birth and then never see the child again and essentially die until this woman has another kid is like. The most terrible horror story I can comprehend

innie mark shredding petey’s map & outie mark ripping up his wife’s photograph. that man is so deeply destructive to his core that he can’t escape his impulse to remove pain forcibly. hence the whole reason he has these two versions of himself to begin with. & i think the most satisfying part of his character arc is that both versions are coming to realize that that’s not a viable option. he tried to piece them back together both times. oh my god season 2 can’t come fast enough

It’s about how corporations use dumb little “perks” to keep employees happy instead of treating them like humans. It’s about the ethical cost of outsourcing labor. It’s about how memory is all we are. It’s about how your workplace only cares about your emotional health to the extent that you can keep working. It’s about how rich people get babies from women who have no say in being pregnant. It’s about how pervasive grief is. It’s about how corporations gaslight you into thinking the work you do is important. It’s about people who treat corporations and their leaders as gods and religious figures. It’s about how the best bond you can make with your coworkers is by unionizing. It’s about how the state and the company go hand in hand. It’s about finding love in impossible circumstances. It’s about how our choices are never made in a vacuum. It’s about how issues of human rights are debated through the lens of choice to obscure the moral dilemma. It’s about the fact that you and your coworkers always have more power than your boss. But mostly it’s about how work fucking sucks.
