spring break starts today but it's not much of a break since i'm leaving for a conference on wednesday! today's to-do:
read cárcel de amor + the preliminary study that accompanies it
write up notes for my presentation on siglo de oro poetry
review three texts for essay on the uncanny
make portuguese flashcards from my vocab lists

hi! i'm not sure what your level is nor what your concrete interests are, but here are some random recs based on my own tastes and what i've been watching/reading lately :)
book: el vampiro de la colonia roma, probably one of my top 5 novels of all time, about a sex worker in mexico city, a queer classic. if you like short stories and feminist horror, check out amparo dávila's short stories (especially la señorita julia)
podcast: perra nación! i think it's a spotify exclusive, but the episodes are mini documentaries on random topics (my first episode was tuluminatis, but i also really enjoyed the ciudad muela episode)
tv show: everyone recommends casa de las flores and i am going to do it again. if you like reality tv, catfish méxico and/or drag race méxico. if you like drag competitions in general you should also check out la más draga on youtube
movie: recently watched huesera and enjoyed it if you like horror about motherhood!
music: my boyfriend won't stop listening to primera cita by carín león (i really like his voice). if you want to hear the stupidest song on earth thats so bad it's good listen to shorty party by cartel de santa. i dont think it's intentionally like that but like. the lyrics. the way he sings slightly off beat. everything. yes.
