You're not the only one. I feel this in a big way because of Shadow's origins. He was a creation just as they were. It may not have been the same purpose but he was an experiment and she would be able to relate to him and he to her and Kit by extension.

He probably wouldn't be nice at first, wouldn't sugar coat the situation and I do see them come to an understanding even if it may take a while.

Surge would be skeptical since Shadow is amicable towards Sonic. They might even fight and she'll possibly throw out that he wouldn't know what it's like to be an experiment which would then prompt him to scoff and say, "Right, I don't know what that's like."

A pause.

"Except, I do."

Even after seeing the new Sonic IDW issue, I still feel like Shadow would be the perfect choice on talking to Surge, not Amy. Tails on the other hand would be better to talk to Kit. This is me not only as a Shadow fan saying this ( I just want him around so bad 😭), but also cause they both can relate to Surge and Kit in a way. I'm probably the only one who feels this way ;-;

My cover for IDW Sonic 59 (releasing 3/29) 🦔

Can't thank David Mariotte and Riley Farmer enough for letting me take a shot at making a traditionally painted cover

I told the IDW team that I always wanted to do a mock Renaissance painting for a cover someday, and this issue inspired me to go for it. I took lots of inspiration from classic paintings, and also specifically from "The Fallen Angel" by Alexandre Cabanel for Shadow himself.

I did the thumbnails and pencils digitally (easier for notes) and then used a mini projector to project the image onto a canvas, and transfer the pencils before painting the rest of it with acrylics.

I took lots of videos of the actual painting process, so I'll have to put those together sometime soon.

CONFESSION: 

I romance Cullen as a warrior Trevelyan, and it makes me feel like an outcast in the fandom. Every single Cullenmancing Inquisitor I’ve seen in the fandom is a super delicate beautiful Lavellan or mage Trevelyan. I see my Inquisitor as a more plain looking masculine woman, someone realistic that reminds me of myself, and I’ve gotten anon hate about her being “fat” and “an abomination”, and the fact that I can’t ever find any fics or art of any Inquisitors like mine makes everything worse. It makes me feel like Cullen only deserves outstandingly beautiful feminine “special” girls, but why shouldn’t he be able to fall in love with a normal girl? And don’t get me started on the fact that you can’t romance him as a Cadash or Adaar just makes this worse.

Sorry Been Gone So Long...

I finally got some things sorted out, but in other news Hi...

Yeah, sorry I’ve been gone so long it’s been a mess around here. But I have to say with the craziness I’ve been getting a lot of art done, not all of it will be pictured here but you can see all my projects on my Deviant Art, which I finally got sorted out. 

Anyhow, there is a story behind this image.

I had a wreath, a really cool wreath that I had purchased about 5 or so years ago when we moved into our house. My wreath was a really cool Halloween wreath that I had got on discount and hung it up above the mailbox as a welcome/accent piece. Well, the birds decided every year for the 5 or so years that it was up to try and colonize it with nests. 

It was aggrivating. I know, I know, they’re birds, they’re going to try and build nests wherever. That doesn’t mean that they were welcome in my wreath. I always tried to knock them out before they laid eggs but I wasn’t always successful because they’d build just as quickly overnight and then lay their eggs before I could get them out. 

My husband absolutely refuses to evict them once they lay their eggs which is bothersome to me but I respected his choice and for over three years there were birds in my damn wreath. 

Well, two days ago I finally had enough. They’d absolutely destroyed my wreath with the twigs, the twine, the pulling on the wires and garland, and just basically shitting all over the wreath and the side of the house above the mailbox. They’d taken an absolutely beautiful accent piece and made it into a disgusting mess. I just couldn’t stand it anymore. They ruined my beautiful wreath.

I had my husband pull it down because it was an absolute pitiful ugly mess. There was no way to restore it and I knew if I even tried, if it could be done, the birds would just colonize it again and again. So, in replacement I built the birdhouse in the image above. I really didn’t want to because of how bad they fucked up my wreath, but when my husband pulled the wreath down I felt that they needed a place to go that was actually built for that purpose. 

You see, I don’t mind the birds in places where I build for them, just not in my decorations. My husband put up another bird box for them this year around the same area as a basket he hung the year before in an effort to help get them out of my wreath. Needless to say it didn’t work as intended. But, in any case, I hope the birds are happy now while I twitch.
