first pic just has his color palette (not counting his clothes cuz you already know that); second pic has markings that are more or less based on Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon (if you can see that), but also with some elements from a irl fat-tailed gecko (mainly the stripe down his back to the tail)

kinda wished i had better implemented the colors, so yeah (also stuck with him being based on a fat-tail instead of a leopard cuz i'm not willing to draw out a lot of spots lol)

ARC-V Month Day 30: Curtains Down

and thus the final day is here! honestly a bit disappointed in myself for not getting some prompts i really wanted to do, but hey, gotta do with what you can do

i think the only day that i did that came out alright was #13 since i actually pit more effort there (but if you enjoyed the others i did (including my “funny” ones), then i don’t blame you)

anyways, have this thing i did since this was an attempt at doing a different art style (so awkwardness/uncanniness is pretty obvious as i’ve never done this style before)

(putting a read more under this if you wanna hear more of my rambling bout why i even attempted this art style and rough sketches of their full bodies)

the art style i attempted to do is from a very obscure rhythm game (Cool Cool Toon) and i took heavy reference from this page cuz i can’t do poses

not a huge fan on the eye shape, but it’s understandable that it’s supposed to be a cartoon world

also here are the full body sketches in said attempted art style just so you can tell how much i struggled with poses

(honestly the only one that came out alright was Rin imo)

ARC-V Month Day 24: Oh. My. G.O.D.

it’s prob not that obvious, but anytime i draw the Yuboys, it’s usually the manga versions of ‘em since i enjoy those part of ‘em more than the anime (no offense to the anime, i still like it)

i’m not great at words, so keep in mind these are just my (badly worded) notes on why i think the ARC-V manga’s neat

(putting this under a read more as it’ll contain spoilers and such)

- alright so starting off, Yuya’s already a fugitive lol (and somehow that’s a lot more interesting than his anime counterpart)

- he’s still a dueltainer, but personality wise a bit more of a deadpan snarker (again, a lot more interesting than his anime counterpart)

- his expressions and actions are a lot goofier (even when dueling!)

- wait how are Sawatari, Shun, and Sora a team in this what

- honestly Phantom’s such a cool nickname

- dude can just materialize a bird, giant paper airplane, and wand he extends to use as a pole vault like it’s nothing (why couldn’t anime him do that)

- he’s got his own hideout i can’t

- also a hacker, which bumps up his coolness

- “yeah, i’m here to find a card called G.O.D. which will destroy everything”

- can pretty much switch into Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri like it’s a regular costume change (just like how an entertainer would do)

- Overscale/Transcend Pendulum just sounds cool too

- imagine your bond being so strong you can manipulate the damn course (no wonder, it’s in the mind)

- honestly not a surprise that Reiji would duel in space of all things

- dang Yuri, you didn’t have to go that deep into that talk

- ah shit, here we go to defeat Eve

- oh this flashback is gonna hurt

- OH, that’s disturbing (muscles exposed?! jesus christ Eve)

- they’re sacrificing themselves cuz they know they’ll always be with Yuya ;-;

- G.O.D. Eyes is here to whoop some ass

- it’s not the end yet ‘til the rival gets one last battle with the protag

- “Divine Go-D/D/D Zero King Zero G.O.D. Reiji” i can’t get over this it’s so stupid plz help

- hehe scarf physics go brrrr

- Yuya won, G.O.D.’s card is ripped to shreds, and both of ‘em gotta go to meet G.O.D’s creator (presumably)

so yeah, those are my notes that more or less summarize what happens in the manga, thus i’ll end this with an unfunny meme cuz i don’t feel like drawing:

ARC-V Month Day 18: D/D/D - Different Dimension Day (2/2)

here’s part 2 of day 18! if it’s not already obvious, this AU involves the manga version of ‘em (cuz i just find those versions of ‘em neat)

this part includes both notes and sketches as i wanna keep the comic separate from this and isn’t really considered “canon” in this AU (more or less)

(just a heads up, i’m putting this under a read more due to one of the sketches i made prior is a bit more graphic than what i usually do (and possibly manga spoilers)

general backstory thing:

- instead of dueling Eve, G.O.D. forced a contract with Yuya from his desire of seeing his brothers back from the World Illusion incident

- against Yuya’s will, G.O.D. had given his brothers back with their bodies physically intact, but...

- G.O.D. cursed them to be one with their ace dragons (Yuya included) as they felt the sensation of additional limbs that were foreign to them

- seeing that those additions resembled parts of their dragons horrified them as a twitch of their tail was proof enough to believe so

- did they do that on their own? or was that their dragon’s?

- regardless, Yuya couldn’t accept this and demanded the forced contract be broken (even if that meant seeing his brothers disappear once more)

- G.O.D. denied and whisked the Yuboys away into a different world so that they wouldn’t interfere with the cycle

- now stuck in whatever world they’ve been tossed in, finding out how to get home is one of their priorities

- the other? to eliminate G.O.D.

ARC-V Month Day 13: Abyss Beneath a Smile

gee, i wonder who it is

this might be a bit of an eyestrain (tho knowing Tumblr quality, it prob just looks normal), so sorry bout that

the “purple” looks like this as i attempted to emulate the Flipnote way of getting “purple” (it’s more red since that’s the closest to Yuri that seemed to fit (plus the  “light purple” is just red and blue used equally)

i’ve never drawn out any Predaplants before, so sorry if they look off cuz of my style

ARC-V Month Day 10: Take Five... Or Ten!

i originally wasn’t gonna do this one, but it does feel nice to do a freebie prompt. i don’t draw furry/scalie stuff often, but felt like roughly sketching out the Yuboys as reptiles that i think would fit ‘em for this one

(gonna put this under a read more as it contains: very sloppy sketches, scalie stuff (which i know not everyone’s on par with that), and a bunch of rambling at the end)

Yuya’s the only one that’s roughly outlined as i feel he’s the only one that came out alright (can’t say for the others as the poses i did for ‘em are pretty... bad (plus proportions are wack since i don’t plan out how much space they’ll take up lol))

don’t think i’ll finalize these at any time, so i’ll put some notes as to why i picked this reptile for each Yuboy:

Yuya (leopard/fat-tailed gecko) - felt the bumpy tail was cute enough for him (was gonna go for a uromastyx (spiny-tailed lizard) instead to represent OEPD’s spiky tail, but i scrapped that)

Yuto (monitor lizard) - didn’t aim for a specific monitor since idk which one would fit, so yeah (was gonna go for a snake instead (since Dark Rebellion is kinda noodley), but then i thought bout Yuri and took that out since they would look the same)

Yugo (zebra-tailed lizard) - honestly just chose this cuz the tail markings were the “closest” to represent CWSD lol (originally was gonna be either a basilisk or skink)

Yuri (cobra) - again, nothing specific, but chosen due to it being venomous (gee, wonder what this represents) and having a hood (which i thought i could somehow implement part of his hair as part of the hood)

(sorry for any herp nerds looking at this knowing how much i butchered the anytomy cuz of my style)
