Scrolling through comments on a Falsettos TikTok is actual torture, especially the replies. Saw a comment that was asking like why everyone thought act 1 marvin was so bad and someone responded “he hit his ex wife” (this isn’t the bad part obviously). Someone had the absolute brilliant idea to respond to that reply with “god knows what he did to Whizzer when he got angry” like you guys never do cease to amaze me with all the ways you figure out to make a woman’s experience about a man! Your way of sweeping Trina as a character completely under the rug isn’t cute, you’ve just diminished the whole meaning of that whole song because you just decided the hardships a woman went through with her controlling ex-husband just HAD to be about a man, it just had to be!

this is the first fic i’ve written in literal years so please bear with me if it’s bad lol. i just got sudden motivation yesterday and couldn’t stop writing this.

i’ve always wondered the implications of marvin working as a weatherman for a news station amidst the extreme silence and disregard the media had towards the aids crisis (specifically during its earlier days). this fic sees marvin go back to work the day after whizzer dies and makes some revelations while starting to heal.
