Animaticlock has me in a chokehold I've never had a crossover ship before save me please I ENTIRELY blame Funker and SparkleAddict

Anyways Animatic is much more PDA than Clock and every time Animatic kisses them they just sort of start dinging uncontrollably and Animatic finds it funny. Frequently catches them off guard just to kiss em on the head and watch them implode. Animatic DOES occasionally get flustered though and when that happens he just starts lagging into oblivion until he finally snaps back

They both bite btw. Aggression is very normal for them don't worry about it —📒

bfb, roboty, and.. true callings?

lets talk about roboty!!!!!! roboty is a character who hasnt been spoken about much, and i want to dive into his mind and analyse him.

from the start, we can see that roboty seems to be quite distant from the objects. in bfb1, before four arrives, each object is given some screen time. it acts as an introduction to the objects and helps us get a feel of the characters.

roboty is not included.

from this, we can infer that roboty is antisocial, and doesnt spend his time with objects. we see more proof of this in episodes 2 and 6. in both instances, we see roboty relaxing in the waterfall area:

the waterfall is a place of comfort and peace.

moving on, later in bfb1, when four states that the prize for bfb is going to be a bfdi, we see the contestants visibly excited, even roboty. this might show that roboty is willing to compete in the show, in desire for the bfdi

however, this excitement is only brief. in bfb2, roboty leaves off to the waterfall during the challenge. he does not want to participate in the show. but why?

there are a multitude of reasons, but for one, i think it might be because of leafy. roboty and leafy dont see eye to eye very well, as evident in bfb1 where she misinterprets robotys response (14:35), and in bfb3.

she put a question mark over robotys level of loyalty. she doesnt know how loyal roboty is because she doesnt understand him that well. in fact, no one seems to understand roboty at all except for balloony and david.

i feel like this is where most of robotys avoidance of objects stems from. because he is unable to be understood, communication becomes impossible for him. this isnt helped by his static facial structure, either (it only further limits his outward expression).

no one seems to like roboty, and he is very aware of this:

this may be another reason as to why he is so distant. he knows the audience doesnt like him, and considering most of the objects do not understand him, he naturally falls into a defeatist attitude - and at times - is stubborn.

how i see it is that roboty doesnt enjoy being told what to do. we get a glimpse of this in bfb2:

leafy assigns roboty with the job of - what i can only assume is - breaking the jawbreakers (it doesnt explicitly show leafy telling roboty this, but because she’s the only one commanding the team, i think its safe to say it was her).

more evidently, in bfb5:

hold on, what is a “true calling”? we are first introduced to this phrase in bfb2, from leafy.

leafy synonymises this term with “job”, which, while being somewhat accurate, is quite insulting. true callings take time to be found, and are highly personal, so for leafy to have seemingly figured out someone else’s true calling - without even spending that much time with them - feels fake and rude. judging from cloudy’s response, he was pretty hurt from her comment, –

– and i assume roboty was too, for the reasons above, and also because he already had a negative opinion towards leafy.

this brings clarity as to why roboty would be glad david found his true calling: david didn’t need anybody’s help. he discovered his own calling independently; on his own. and in a sense, roboty wants to do the same. he doesn’t want to listen to leafy or compete in bfb because he just doesn’t find enjoyment or get a sense of fulfillment from it, and he doesnt want to be forced into it, either.

i suppose this is why roboty wanders off to that lovely spot of his. im not sure what attunes him to the waterfall area specifically, but im sure the peace and quiet gives him time to think and find himself. however, roboty’s journey for self discovery seems to fall flat in episode 10, in which he is inevitably sent to the exit.

he no longer has access to the beloved waterfall, and is now surrounded by objects. because of his immobility, there is not much he can do, except fall into the same defeatist and hateful attitude mentioned earlier. his antisocial behaviour continues in bfb16:

firey jr is literally using him as a seat. almost all the objects see him as some sort of object. another instance of this dehumanisation is seen once again, where roboty is - most likely against their will - used as part of a tower to escape four.

if roboty was feeling vengeful and wanted to take his anger out, perhaps he could’ve destroyed the tower to stop the others from leaving. but he didnt. possible reasons may be because:

maybe he’s not petty

shares their desire for escape and has empathy

is not proactive

he would’ve stopped his friend, david, from escaping

he wants them to go so he’ll be by himself

too defeatist

i’m- uh, not entirely sure myself.

but alas, that concludes my discussion on roboty. i learned a lot about him during this writing process, and while his time in bfb was brief, i still got to get a good glance into his mind.
