I like mileven, i genuinely do. I’ve been a mileven shipper since season 1 (despite my byler related posts lol) but I genuinely think it’s a cute couple. I don’t have a problem with mileven at all. I ALSO ship byler, i see (or saw) it’s potential and it really seemed like it could be such an amazing storyline of queer romance in the 80’s. I’m okay with byler not being canon, i’m perfectly okay with being “delusional”. What I am NOT okay with is blatant queer baiting. Mike could slap Will in the face to reject him, but if that means i have to move on from byler, i’d take it before i even begin to accept queer baiting. It’s quite obvious that there were intentions to increase our hopes in byler. This can be seen so many times with Netflix, social media accounts, the ACTORS, hell even the writers. This isn’t about whether byler will be canon next season, or whether mileven will be canon next season or even if it was canon this season. This is about how we got baited into believing that there would be at LEAST a hint of a mutual reciprocation between Will and Mike. We got told there would be a “mutual understanding” between them. We got told they were going go have a “heart to heart” we got told they were being “built up” so “definitely ship that” we got our hopes up so high. I told myself “The Duffer Brothers aren’t stupid enough to queer bait us.” Boy was I wrong lol. It disappoints me so much the lengths they would go to attract an audience. So many lies, just to attract more people to the show.

I don’t care if byler is canon in season 5. We got queer baited THIS season. We had literally so much hope being built and built up for us by multiple people working on Netflix and even the cast of Stranger Things. We were hoping and expecting at least something romantic to happen between Mike and Will THIS SEASON. And they deliberately stomped on every ounce of hope we had. Byler could be canon in season 5 but that doesn’t even begin to describe the amount of distrust and words i can’t even begin to describe after the events of volume 2.

I honestly feel so betrayed and gaslit after watching vol 2. We were told it’s been “building up” from the beginning. We were told to ship it. We were given so much hope, so much content, so much excitement for byler, only for them to literally stomp on every ounce of hope we ever had for byler. I stayed up 4 hours just for this, just for their “heart to heart” to be feeding into more lore. The Duffer Brothers obviously lied SO many times this season. Every thing they said, the “five deaths” the “address his sexuality” So so so much that we hoped and expected to see in volume 2. I am never trusting a single word the Duffer Brothers ever say again. They don’f give AF about the aftermath and reactions of their beloved fans and viewers. All they cared about was getting a massive audience, and obviously we can see they went to great lengths to get this audience, including queer baiting. As much as I want to believe byler will eventually be canon in season 5, I’m so done, those byler crumbs? Obviously more queer baiting to give us hope, don’t even fall for it, anything Noah says? Don’t listen to him he obviously lied about many things. I still can’t believe this, i’m so disgusted with the DF.

You guys realize the Duffer Brothers didn’t actually forget Will’s birthday, right? You do realize they were lying about it because fans were catching on too fast… right? Why else would they add little props in some scenes saying “Happy Birthday” when we all know the Duffer Brothers just loooooove adding small details for the viewers to meticulously pick out. Why else would they have Murray mention birthdays to Joyce? There’s just too many hints that the Duffer Brothers already knew about this, and putting that date, was intentional. But the most telling piece of evidence is back in season 2 when Joyce, Mike, and Jonathan are all talking to Will to try and bring him back. We know that the Duffer Brothers rewatch and study their show to get things as accurate as possible. Do you think they would just skip over the part of Joyce saying March 22nd is Will’s Birthday? Do you genuinely believe that every single social media account just “oops silly me i forgot” ? They post other characters birthdays but not Will’s. It’s all intentional, and I highly believe it’s going to be brought up in volume 2. Get ready for some angst

Bylerists, as scared as I was about the vibrantwater leaks, I’m going to try my best to reassure you all. First of all, the script for Stranger Things would not be that easy to leak at ALL. You think the Duffer Brothers would allow something like that to happen in their show? That has countless fans waiting and preparing for the next volume.. they just wouldn’t let something like that happen. Let’s say it did happen, something got leaked, the leaks would be taken down very quickly. Leaking stuff like this should be punished, and i’m certain the Duffer Brothers would punish someone who leaked their precious information so easily. Secondly, i’ve looked at vibrantwater’s account and they honestly seem to be a big m*lkvan shipper. They keep insisting on proving that Mike’s monologue is to Eleven. If they really did have access to this information, why would they even have so much bias in the first place? You can tell just by their tweets that they’re trying hard to convince people that their leaks are real. They are trying to sound confident about the things their saying, to make it easier for gullible people to believe. Thirdly, the things they listed (all though at first glance may look possible) the more you think about it the more you realize they they’re just pulling stuff out of the trailers and teasers that we’ve already seen, making assumptions, and using already existing knowledge from interviews and what not to make a list and make things seem believable as possible. The more information you have, the more “reliable” you are. I could list a bunch of other reasons why you shouldn’t believe these leaks but I think you get my point. And trust me, when I first saw those “leaks” my heart sank just reading them, but from a writing stand point, it just doesn’t make sense for them to do half the things listed. Byler is still canon, everything is fine :)

*BEAUTIFUL BOY* A Byler Fic

Posting a snippet here of this 4,000 word fic I wrote while I wait for AO3 and Fanfiction.net to get me on board so that I can post there. This takes place shortly after Will has fallen victim to Vecna’s curse back in Hawkins, and it’s a precious and earnest moment shared between Mike and Will on the couch in Hopper’s cabin, because I KNOW we all have not been able to stop theorizing as to what takes place during that scene ever since that leak of that photo we saw lol. Can’t wait to share the link to the full fic soon!

So I’ve come to two possible conclusions/theories about byler. Theory #1: Every person on Netflix and everyone working on Stranger Things is actually extremely homophobic and they’re leading thousands of people on to believing that byler will be canon only to crush everyones hope right after Pride Month because they think it’s funny, OR Theory #2: Byler is canon and endgame.
