In an instant, he snaps up, reaching for a gun he'd put
away. "Steve, get down." He whispers, forgetting the
fact that Steve wasn't really Steve anymore that he
wasn't the skinny kid from Brooklyn who picked fights.
He wasn't going to be the guy who came to the rescue
anymore, he was probably going to be the one getting
saved.
But he manages to push all that aside, focusing on the
footsteps that neared closer. He didn't want to risk
running back to the tents to pick up his gun and he didn't
want to lose Steve either. He'd been through that already,
he wasn't going to go back.
"Your call, Captain." He says, voice low, sparing a glance
towards the other. They didn't have much experience
fighting battles together and a part of Bucky had always
hoped they'd never have to.
"There’s lots of fun to be had in serving my
country you know. This was my dream… This was
all that I ever wanted to do and I finally get to do it—
and I get to do it with my best friend no less; along
with a group of real stand up guys. That’s fun to me.”
He cast a brief look over his team, and then past
Bucky. Steve Rodgers had never expected to be
here, and all of it seemed so surreal. It seemed like
just yesterday he was only a chorus gal—
—or even that scrawny little boy from Brooklyn.
This feeling of happiness was intoxicating.
"And we get to talk about all of the deep stuff on
watch together like in the war films. It’s going to
be—”
The sound of quiet, calculating footsteps cut him off.
There was somebody behind those bushes, and
as Steve could guess, their intentions weren’t
very good at all.

There's a tilt of his lips and a breathless laughter
escapes him, fogging up in front of his eyes as he
shuffles over to make room. He can't help but roll
his eyes, smiling up at his longterm childhood friend.
"Everything sounds like fun for you, Steve, no surprise
sitting in biting cold and keeping watch for possible
trouble is like a walk in the park."
The cold didn’t much affect Steve. Whatever that
serum was, it had done wonders for him. He was
much more resistant to the elements, but that didn’t
mean that being cold wasn’t still uncomfortable. The
long days and nights with the Commando could be
tiring to normal men, but it was as if he no longer
required sleep to function.
"Yeah, well, I suppose we’ll have to watch together,
alright, Bucky? Sounds like fun to me.”

2. A long kiss
In all honesty, Bucky isn't sure how or why he was possessed to join in this game. Maybe it was because everyone told him to loosen up or maybe it was because he just wanted to. It was fast, all of a sudden he was being pushed into a closet with Tess and Bucky's foot caught on his other, causing him to stumble. When the door had been closed, it was dark and all he could hear was the sound of their breathing.
This wasn't a game he played before and he almost feels nervous. Leaning in, he touches his forehead to Tess' before placing a chaste kiss on her lips, hands awkwardly placed. A tilt of his head and the kiss was going just a tad farther. Pulling away for air, he manages a half step back and laughs. "Sorry it's just been, a while I guess."

With his weapons tucked away and most if not all of the
Commandos were asleep, Bucky couldn't find it in him
to go sleep as well. The cold was biting on his exposed
skin and he tugged his arms closer to his body, trying to
hold in the body heat.
"I said I'd take watch, remember?"
