Their little game kept escalating to stranger levels the longer it went on, didn't it? One whisper of a word from her mind's library of words, and suddenly the human's whole demeanor changed. Absolute arrogance collapsed all at once, and reformed itself into some kind of befuddlement and awe.

Rind may have evolved into her psychic variation, but she wasn't one who could peer into a human's mind and perfectly understand what was happening in there. From where she was sitting, she suspected the reaction was coming more from finding something as unique as a talking Pokemon.

While the lavender feline took this time to lie down on her branch like an elegant sphinx, the lunch firmly under her forepaws, her massive ears and forked tail stood raised and ready- Should he try and pull a fast one and lob a ball at such a rare find.

"Um, no?" Rind snipped at the trainer's single question, her voice now at a volume loud enough to be heard clear as day. "What? Just cus' I can talk means I gotta be a human? Nah, I'm just a ridiculously smart, talented, and cute critter!"

Her lavender eyes direct themselves at the trainer below her. Studying him with an intense scrutiny that could've poked holes in the most brash of men. Rind's glare drifted over to the presumably dominant hand of the kid, checking to see nothing worth worrying about hadn't been sneaked in while she wasn't looking, before turning her head away with her own snide arrogance.

"Much too smart for someone like you." She snarked. "You'd best move along now, if you know what's good for you."

Rind didn't mean for those words to come across as threatening. The last thing she wanted was to battle, she was still running on an empty belly after all. But what tumbled out of her careless mouth couldn't be retracted, she only hoped the red head didn't think she was challenging him.

"Awww ..."

For once, Silver's voice is motivated, like he really poured his heart out on this single line, as if he was put on this Earth for this one purpose—to feign pity. He can't help himself from tilting his head sympathetically; this dead-end outcome for the animal was too good for him to pass up being petty.

"You stupid little creature, you can't open the box, can you? It's okay; if you get back down here with my lunch, I just might give you a piece of ham that's in there."

Past the orchestra of theatrics, a part of him did mean his words; Silver gets in a better mood when his opponent loses. There's no harm in rewarding the stray some food for putting up a good game.

"Too bad our ... little game of 'cat and mouse' didn't last long."

A mean spirit persists in a hiss. But a hiss held no weight or substance in volume. It was a house made of straw, and it was blown away by one unexpected turn.

A glow.

An evolution, no, an eeveelution.

And now, he stood below an Espeon ... He can panic about it being the psychic variant of an Eevee of all things, but he knew he heard a voice, no matter how taunting, made him think of something beyond this world. This revelation opened a door he kept closed. A memory of his past.

Strands of his hair spike up like a cat in fright. Eyes glisten in recollection. And there's an ache that lodges at his throat, it almost makes him jerk in place for a second. Silver becomes an entirely different person. A delicate, fragile thing. Because truth be told, this isn't his first rodeo with a talking Pokemon. And that first ride was ... nothing short of being emotional. When he opens his lips --a steady, cautious parting-- his voice is weak. A quiver that descends to a whisper. Because if he dares raise his voice above a whisper, he swears he might break.

"You ... can ... speak?"

Out came the question with unexpected emotion. It's as if he forgave the thievery for a minute. How could he not? How could he not let go of the world right now when he is consumed with the thought of the one person who made himself home and dear in his heart? The one person who stood by his side when not even his close friend Gold was there. The one who demonstrated utmost devotion despite the many troubles that surrounded Silver.

There's more than meets the eye, and the thief can see the way he wore his heart out in this motionless state. Can we even call her the thief when she brings back a part of his life to mind? As tragic as it was, Silver will always regard that chapter fondly. He shouldn't cry, it isn't so often anyone comes across a talking pokemon. Silver came across something special.

So, in one big breath, he stiffens his shoulders, making him stand firm again, and regain the strength he lost. As bizarre as he's going to sound, he asks politely.

"Were you ... once ... a human?"

Maybe ... for once, stealing isn't bad. His heart opens up. And sure, it's just a little bit, but it opens the instant he is curious about the other. Silver isn't one to wonder about others. She accomplished a feat that rarely is unlocked by anyone. The universe could give her a pass on thieving, just this once.

"Hmm..."

Rind pretended to look as if she was thinking really, especially hard about her answer, while in her mind she already had a really great answer picked out in her mind. With a look of assurance, she met Reyna with a beaming look.

"You know, I'm just the right gal to ask!" She chirped. "I happen to know a pretty good place just a few blocks away from here! Real swell locale, right where the action is in this big city!"

The Eevee's endorsement went on, her own excitement building as she tried her hardest to sell this hotel in particular.

"Top notch security for all your valuables! Friendly staff and management! Comfy beds! A five star all you can eat buffet! And best of all? It's dirt cheap too!"

She eagerly waved a paw at Reyna, beckoning for her to come a little closer.

"Tell ya what? Lemme hitch a ride on your shoulder and I'll point you in the direction of this unicorn hotel." Rind promised, a friendly grin and cheeky wink expressing an idea of trust between them, though they had only just met.

"Plus, you know. With a creature like me on your shoulder, you may as well be trotting down the street with a million dollar mink stole! Hah!"

Aww, that was actually really cute. She thought that Reyna was really that gullible. The girl could learn a thing or two about being a bit more subtle. But, perhaps the lizard is making a bit of a hasty judgement, she should wait and see how this all plays out at least! This would be fun!

"Well, I am rather lost, as I don't quite know the layout of the place after all." She admits with a hum. "I think I should first try and find a place to settle down for the night, so that I know where to go when I'm done with my tour. Do you know of a good place?" She asks with a pensive look on her face.

Her Vaporeon form has faint, dark purple irises

Jolteon also shares this trait, though the purple color is slightly brighter

Her Flareon form has dark, navy blue eyes

Espeon has cloudy lavender eyes

Umbreon has its striking red eyes

Her Leafeon form has gentle, rusty brown eyes

Glaceon's eyes are a sharp teal blue color

Finally, Sylveon's eyes are its standard baby blue

Even though she would eat just about anything that can be eaten, Rind fancies herself as an enjoyer of street food. Among her favorites are pizza (or just the crusts), hot dogs, burger scraps, chicken wing bones, and the trimmings of sloppily eaten tacos.

Her absolute favorite has to be noodles such as ramen and yakisoba, which can be difficult if not impossible to pick out of trash cans and so is usually gifted to her by a generous stranger or vendor.
