So this blog was marked as nsfw last month and Tumblr still hasn't unmarked it. Instead of waiting for help that might never come, I'm going to be moving aesthetic content to a different blog. having a big cottage in the small town, spending time on the kitchen, cooking dishes from the products which you have bought in the morning on the local market, the smell of the fresh bread, listening to the Rolling Stones after waking up in the morning, having a bedroom with big windows, laying on the big bed and reading books, decorating a house with flowers and cozy things

🏡cottagecore dorm/small space ideas:

at least one cookie jar, even if you don’t bake. put store bought cookies in it. 100% guarantee it will bring happiness

a rug. rug hooking is fun and easy to learn also

plants! especially herbs! bonus points if they’re in cute lil pots

throws, pillows, and blankets for optimum coziness and homey feel

diy decor like pompom tassels, banners, knit/crochet/felted/macrame things to fill up boring walls (check your rules on hanging things first)

knick knack dish

soft lighting like a salt lamp or fairy lights

vintage pieces to display (old pyrex bowls, figurines, pictures, memorabilia)

wicker baskets/bins. idk they’re so quaint

cute stationary

a quilt. because quilts. also, bedskirts will generally hide any underbed storage from view

books, especially to educate yourself on hobbies and interests

mason jars are adorable, cheap, and make great storage

^enamel jars are easily thrifted and can hold bulk items

scented candles/wax burner (if allowed!)

cute patterned tea towels, oven mitts, and pot holders. i have a pair of oven mitts with chickens on them, 11/10 would reccomend kitschy kitchenware

i just love old things so much. i love standing in a ruin knowing that it was once a city or a building real people lived and walked in, or seeing a weapon someone used to wield to fight for a nation that no longer exists, or a statue of someone who’s been dead for thousands of years. i love hearing songs that have been sung for centuries, or eating foods with ancient recipes. i love the idea that even when people have passed and civilisations have fallen there are still little pieces of the past we can feel today.
