my amazing but unsustainable beautiful house (true) beautiful family (...) beautiful pets (true) has unsurprisingly become unsustainable. it’s relieving; i want the decision to leave to be my own agency. none of my partners will let me leave san francisco without fighting for me hard; even my housemates, as toxic as it is, will help me financially, because they make so much money they don’t notice if they have to pay my rent for a while. it sucks but my unhappiness here has been starting to impact my relationships with my partners, and in the last day or so when i’ve told them i just can’t/won’t stay here anymore, the absolute relief was validating, and like jesus, i’m ready to get the fuck on with my life.

favorite college story was when i managed to sprain my ankle ON THE WAY to my physics final, which fortunately the shuttle from my dorm to downtown campus dropped off in front of the university hospital, i think i asked a staff member to let my physics prof know -- apparently he actually came to check on me but i was already discharged; he emailed me and was just like, “did you get good drugs?”

and then when i made up the final in his office a few days later, i asked him for clarification for some question, he glanced at the exam, paused, just says, “ah the answer is C” and went back to what he was doing

and my sophomore year creative writing professor who held a get-together at her gorgeous house in georgetown at the end of the semester, last day of class she was like, “you’re all 21, right?” and the majority of us who were not just kinda looked around noncomittally until she burst out laughing and was like i’m kidding, i’m kidding

high school teachers: if you don’t show up with a dress and full makeup or a fitted tuxedo to class everyday to college your professors will execute you

hello, i have not been on tumblr a lot lately, as i have actually been sort of having half a life that doesn’t suck. i have two partners i am still squirmily happy about after nearly a YEAR (?!?); i am starting a few classes since i realized oh yeah i’m a san francisco resident i can basically take classes for free; i even got out of town for a few days for my birthday last week to go camping + hotel with pool with my partner and it was perfect. i am no longer on the medication that culminated with me hallucinating wildly and ultimately in the hospital for two days and i feel so vindicated, i joined a discord server specifically for that medication, and it’s like boy howdy that’s not uncommon. and getting sterilized is in the works!’

i also still spend a lot of time drooling on myself on the internet, and rewatching the same thing time after time (BUT ALSO SANDMAN and am on OFMD probably 3rd watch) but also in the last ten days i think i’ve spent all of two nights at home sans company, and holy fucking shit so much sex, getting old rules

materials -- for some reason, as a kid for YEARS i thought “mat-E-ri-als” and “MAT-er-als” were two different words that somehow meant the same thing and i still remember the book where i realized i was just pronouncing it wrong vividly

girls who learned all their vocab from books and are now constantly embarrassing themselves by pronouncing words slightly wrong in conversation

the classic Finnish mix of extreme dutifulness and “we will make actual conversation after a silent interaction trial period of 6 weeks, thank you” can be really funny sometimes. told my coworker that I’d like to save the coffee grounds the workplace generated and take them home “for my mushrooms and worms” and she was just like “okei” and dutifully saved every single grounds-filled filter for weeks and weeks. about five weeks into this whole thing, after I thank her for the coffee grounds and tell her my worms must love them because they’re breeding very enthusiastically, she finally asks “so your worms… do they have a purpose or are they just… worms”. like sure I’ll save you all these coffee grounds every single time I drink coffee, 3+ times a day, but god forbid I inquire about your specific worm habits before propriety allows it. you could be eating them for breakfast for all I know but that’s your business
