Scarlet leaves: The children of the ocean (Chapter 1)
Notes
The Goodwill's Children are a group of children who run the streets of Fontaine. (They are not canon)
Lynette's nickname is Nettie and will be referred to as such through out the series.
Kazuha will be here much later on through out the chapters.
Freminet will be showing up much later through out the story.
This is not a Kazuha centric story, some chapters will focus on him, so please don't leave in my messages "Where is Kazuha?", because he's not the main character. He is a main character but not the main character.
(The title refers to there being about 3 main characters.)
Just wanted to make that clear!
Scarlet leaves AU is an Au where the fontaine twins don't join the fatui and eventually travel Teyvat with Kaedehara Kazuha and later adopted by him.
The Idea came from here!
This took me months to do and I'm happy to finally show this to you all.
Plot:
Lyney and Lynette are a pair of unfortunate children who lost their parents to disease. They try to live day by day through each paycheck by doing jobs to save up money to rebuy their house. While dealing with the orphan gang and struggling to maintain rations to live by week by week, the twins meet a certain white-haired ronin.
Let's get things started ^^
Tumblr media
Fontaine began to calm down for the night as most began to get off work. Stores began to close as people hurried home for the night, except for a few unfortunate souls. Most children who weren't sent to the orphanage begged the streets and scavenged for food at night. Fontaine wasn't the best at monitoring and helping the children. Most went to orphanages or were picked off the streets; if they were lucky, others, in worse-case scenarios, died.
Lyney and Lynette were no exception to this.
The first few months were hell as the two began to adjust to the streets. As the government repossessed items from their home, the two were left with the clothes they had on the night their parents died. Almost too soon after they passed, everything that was eventually going to be promised to the twins was taken away from them. A few people came by and began to take things from their home. Both fought for the gifts from their parents at the time because they were confused, only to have them taken away. The people who had taken away the only memories they had of their parents shortly after that ejected them from their house. After being kicked from their house, the two wandered the streets of Fontaine that night. No one would look at them, nor would anyone have pity for the new orphans.  Lyney, as the eldest, tried working various jobs to keep them afloat so that they could at least have food for tomorrow. With every ration that he brought, he found it quickly diminishing every time he brought groceries home.
"Move, you damn brats.” Lyney falls to the ground, holding his sister close to him. Looking up, he sees the group of orphan children glaring down at them. The Goodwill’s Children, an orphan gang, ran the streets of Fontaine. Their motto was to claim things from the rich and give them to everyone in "need."
Typically, when there were fresh orphans living on Fontaine's streets, they would assist anyone who was willing to help the needy for a small fee.
"So, what did you take home this week?" Someone takes Lynette's stack of food and examines it. The ragtag group of orphans were chowing down on their hard-earned food.
"Ooh, this is the good stuff, boss.” One of the members exclaimed as she quickly ate the piece of food, taking another piece. Soon enough, the others joined in, each eating up their rations as quickly as they earned them. Finishing off, they dropped the empty bag in front of them by accident.
“You’re supposed to be helping the streets, not hoarding food for yourselves.” One mentioned kicking Lynette in the leg as she fell. Lyney’s eyes met the leader, who wore a smug look. She stood over his sister, grabbing her by the hair as she went to take out a weapon. Lyney approaches as the weapon digs into her throat. The group let out a laugh as he froze in place. Another member abruptly forced him to his knees as the leader kneeled in front of him. She lifts his head so that they can make eye contact.
"Always give us a portion of your earnings from your job first the next time around, alright?" She leaned in close to his face. Her hot breath hit his cheeks as he glared up at her. She lets go of him, as she and her group make their way back down the road that they came from.
Ignoring his wounds, he gets up, rushing to attend to Lynette, who rises to her feet. She let out a deep sigh, facing her brother. Lyney frets over her appearance, causing a small laugh from her.
“Are you alright, Nettie?” Lynette brushes off her dress, getting to her feet. Walking over to their little house, she grabs a few items. A top hat, a few birds that she had caught were in small cages, and some fireworks were in hand as she made her way back towards him.
“I’m alright, Lyney. We should practice for our performance tonight.” He agrees as they pull out their hats. Lyney tries to pull something out of his top hat, only to pull out lent. Lynette works to make a pigeon disappear, only for the pigeon to fly away that she had to chase down. While his sister ran to get their assistant back, he was practicing card tricks that, over the weeks, he was able to make decent. He continued working on it, until his sister came back to their home. Her hair was disheveled, but the bird was caught in the cage. Carefully, she sat the pigeon down before approaching her brother. They continued practicing their acts for the night before making their way towards the streets. Lyney hands fidgeted with each step they took towards the area. He shakily took deep breathes in and out as his sister lightly squeezed his other empty hand. He let out the sigh he was holding in as his heart rate began to slow down, as he walked in sync with his sister.
Usually around nighttime, the crowds in Fontaine circled around Monsieur Cesar’s performances. Monsieur Caesar was Fontaine’s famed magician, known for the acts he would put on for families and the street acts he would do for the children.
Lyney watched curiously as he moved the hat to the audience, showing nothing within it. As he lowered it, Lyney saw a rabbit being pushed into the back of the hat.
“Ta da!” The hat appeared on the table as the crowd clapped. Lyney gave a smug look towards the audience who remained entranced.
`This seemed like it could be easy, maybe this isn’t as hard as Ceser makes it look?``
Lynette continues her next act with the use of small rings of fire as she jumps around for her performance. Her act mimics the ring of fire act most performers would do for their performances. She successfully passes by the last one, only for her dress to catch on fire a bit. Lynette looks in shock before going away from the crowd to put out the fire. Lyney glances towards her before continuing with his act.
The rabbit in the hat trick was one that they worked on for weeks. After many attempts, he was able to do it. “Look here—a cute white rabbit, right? I’ll make this rabbit disappear before your eyes.” He carefully put the rabbit in the hat before facing the crowd.
“Count down with me now.” He pulls a cover over the hat as the countdown gets to the last number. He pulls the hat back before revealing an empty hat to the crowd. They clap for him as he makes a small bow before re-covering the cap again. Instead of the rabbit reappearing, the hat remained empty. He looks at the top hat, surprised, before recovering it again. The crowd let out a small laugh at his mistake. When the rabbit didn’t appear, the crowd began to get confused.
"Apologies, ladies and gentlemen; there appears to be an issue.” He moves around his makeshift stage, looking for his assistant. Some people got up and began to leave his show as he ran around frantically. His anxiety creeps back in as he frantically moves things making the stage look sloppy. `It was just right here, what did it go?` He looks over on the side to see if Lynette has come back, only to see no one else but himself. He takes a small sigh before opening up his mouth to apologize to the crowd.
“Lyney.” Lynette re-entered the stage with the rabbit on her head. The crowd laughed at the silly look that she had. He let out a small sigh before greeting the audience with a more confident look. “Everyone, she did it!” He bows as they clap for his sister who hands him the rabbit. The rabbit settled in his arms as he looks over to her with a sheepish look.
“thanks, sis.” She rolls her eyes as she takes the stage once more. The two of them and the rabbit bowed as the crowd gave them some cheers. “This has been Lyney and Lynette’s magic show, we’ll see you next time.” He lights a small smoke bomb that goes off as they exit the makeshift stage. This first performance didn’t go exactly as he had planned, but at least they were able to get their names out there. The twins walk with their equipment down the small alleyway.
“How much did we earn?” She holds up the mora they received from their performances. The amount grew a bit from his little mishap towards the end. He slowly counted it over noticing that it was still not enough for food rations for a few months.
“Sorry Nettie, it looks like I won’t be able to get you that desert that you really wanted.”
“It’s fine. What’s most important is that we’re able to save up money to take back our house.” After being kicked from their own home, the person in charge told them to bring 40,000 mora to buy the house back. Lyney pleaded saying that it belongs to them and why would they take it away. The person only says that it’s business after all and that small brats like them couldn’t even think to afford to live somewhere as nice as this. Lyney was held back by Lynette that day so that he couldn’t chase after the man.
“Soon we’ll have enough, just another few 10 years.” He joked before letting out a groan as he held his hands over his face. “Adult life must be hard.” He sighs as they make their way home.
The day after, their small show began regular street performances. With each performance came its mistakes, but also gained new audience members. Their acts are what they expected to draw in people, with all the rookie mistakes, however, this has become more of a comedy show every night.
“Lynette, so I heard that you and your brother are doing magic shows at night?”
The introverted girl nods at her boss while she works on a cake that’s for delivery. Café Lutece that was known for their desserts and sweets, was where Lynette found work. As someone who always buys desserts and spends her time there, her brother suggested that finding work here would be good for her, as she gets discounts for her favorite cakes. Her work was simple and due to her looks, she helped the restaurant receive mora in return. Most would come to Café Lutuce to help the poor child who was working as hard as the adults. Some only spent so much money on the café, to "help” the poor child who came from a struggling family.
“Yes.” One of the coworkers said that she had let out a small clap for the girl. She pulls the younger girl into a hug. “You must have been very much inspired by Mr. Ceser huh?” Lynette nods as another coworker pulls her away from the girl.
“From what I heard, your acts going wrong seem to be more popular."
Her ear twitches at the comment before she lets out a small nod. A coworker pats her on the head with a bright smile. “I’m sure you’ll do well.”
“Activate chat mode. Welcome to Café Lutece, I’m Lynette. What can I get you?” She takes the order for a family that entered the café.
“Aren’t you a little too young to be working here, sweetheart?” She ignores the woman’s concern before repeating her question. Her husband looks towards Lynette with a look of pity towards her. She shrugs it off as she makes her way towards the back with the order.
Going to the next table, the pity she received dwindled down as the group of nobles looked down upon her. “Little girl, make sure you don’t mess this up. My wife would like La letter a Focalors, and I’ll have Conch Madeleine, and some tea freshly brewed from Chenyu Vale.” She stares him down before heading back into the kitchen. She hands the order over to the staff as she makes her way back to taking orders.
By time she returns to the table, she hands them the order before walking off once more. Halfway within someone's orders, she hears her name being yelled as people begin to stare in the direction of the guests whose orders she just placed down.
“This is horrendous, maid here!” The man angrily waves his hands at her as she walks over, carefully stopping a foot away from him. His wife looks at her with a look of disgust as she holds up a piece of cake.
“What is in this?” Lynette stares at her blankly. “Flour, eggs, sugar, normal ingredients.” The woman clicks her tongue as she shows her face to the cat girl. Her face swells slightly as she glares at her. Lynette pauses before walking towards the other staff. Returning to the couple, one of her co-workers took over her speaking for her and found ways to accommodate the couple to appease them. The woman’s face grew red with the more that her co-worker spoke.
“I want this girl fired, clearly she doesn’t know how to do her job.’’ She turns towards the younger girl with a smug look. Her coworker glances towards her before turning back towards the couple.
“She’s our newest employee, she still is taking some time to get used to things, please forgive her for any mistakes.” Lynette also apologizes to the couple as she makes her way back towards the other staff. “She is still learning how to navigate things.” The words they used to appease the couple only expanded the aggression.
“Whoever taught her needs to be fired as well! The cake that she brought was wrong, the tea wasn’t from Chenyu Vale like I ordered, it was cold water, it wasn’t even brewed properly!” Lynette watches the situation become more out of hand as the manager comes out and takes over. She walks back over to her other tables, handing them their orders while the situation is taken care of.
“Hey Nettie.” She enters their makeshift house, dragging her feet along the ground. Their makeshift house in an alleyway was growing more with each item added to the house. Even though the two had a place to call their own, it was nothing compared to the house that they once owned.
"Stressful day?" He finishes cooking and takes a sit next to her, offering her a bowl of food. The two dined alone, their bowls clinking softly. "Work was okay today, I suppose. I delivered a package to the wrong customer, and this lady went off on me." She remains quiet occasionally showing she's listening with an attentive nod as he reverts to silence. When they were finished, he collected the plates and placed them in a bag. "I'll go clean these tomorrow." She hastily changes into her costume as they go for their next job.
“They are so cute, trying to mimic Monsieur Ceser.” One of their wealthier patrons laughed at the cat in their performance, attacking Lyney. Lyney ran around as Lynette tried to fix the props that got knocked over. All of this causing laughter from their audience members. Lyney and Lynette received claps for their performance as they took their bows. Lynette collected tips as Lyney stuck around talking to their patrons.
“Your acts are so well Lyney.” He gives them a smile thanking them. He reaches in his hat before pulling out a boquet of Lumi Douce bells.
“My sister and I appreciate your support."
“Instead of doing magic acts, why don’t you both start a circus with the number of times that you’re acts go wrong.” The person with the person he was speaking with let out a laugh, causing a few others to laugh as well. They mock him further before making their way out of the plaza where they were performing at.
Lyney sighs grabbing a few props to pack up, when someone else called his name, he was still having a conversation with one.
"Hello, Lyney and Lynette, was it?”
A brunette man in an expensive outfit and a blonde-haired woman in expensive clothing made their way towards the two. The man standing next to her had a happy expression on his face as he looked in their direction, concealing the woman's identity and hiding her emotion.
“The two aspiring magicians, whose acts resemble the Great Magician Ceser.” Lyney looks towards his sister as she eyes them before facing him. Her expression changed to a look of discomfort before changing back to blank. Lyney faced the two with a bright smile as he spoke with the same politeness. "Good evening, dear guests; yes, Monsieur Ceser has greatly inspired my sister and I."
"Most acts that we have tried are old tricks that he used while making his debut."
The man laughs as he nods his head. "I'm surprised that you know that being that his debut was before you were both born." Lyney fidgets with his hat as the man continues talking. "Well, in order to learn, one must study everything in order to improve." He pulls out a few of Cecilia's, handing them to the woman next to him. She lets out a huff of surprise, accepting them from him. "What is that my sister and I can do for you, sir?"
“I noticed that you both were without parents. As for someone as talented and amazing as the both of you, it’s rather concerning.” Lyney notices the soft smile that the woman gives him as she lowers the fan from her face. The man grins at her sweetly as he takes her hand before continuing. “If you don’t mind, we would like to adopt you.” Lyney stared at the couple for a minute before turning to his sister. She still held a skeptical look as she eyed the couple. Facing him, she shakes her head.
"It is true; my sister and I do not have parents, but we are able to take care of ourselves. "Also, we are aware of your concern, and we are unable to go along with it." He observes that the smiles that were on their faces disappear. An attempt is made by the woman to mask her emotion by bringing the fan back to her mouth, while the husband appears to be in a state of confusion, almost as if he was unaware of being rejected.
"Are you sure?" Lyney nods as he collects the remainder of his belongings from their impromptu stage. Remaining there, the couple cast an intimidating gaze in the direction of the two individuals. Their smiles have faded as they look down at them from above, as if they were beneath them.
“Have a good night.” Lyney tips his hat towards the two as the twins make their way back to their makeshift home. Peering over his shoulder, he sees the man grit his teeth as he and the woman take their leave.
“Why were they pressuring us so much?”
“I heard that some nobles have been adopting children off the streets as of late.” Lyney looks at her in shock as she continues. “Some orphans have been offered the chance to have a better life with these noble families.” Lyney felt a pit of anxiety hit him as he compared the previous situation from just now to what she was talking about. He remembers how they froze up when they declined their help.
“Do you think that they may have been?” She nods as his voice cuts off. They walk in silence for the remainder of their trip home.
"Lyney has a new delivery for this week.” He nods, taking the pack of newspapers as he makes his way out the door of the office of The Steambird. A young woman in her 20s stood outside as he passed her a series of newspapers in the satchel that he was given. Lyney’s put on his steambird badge before making his departure. “I have more work for you when you make your way back.” She sees him off.

Older Sibling! Kazuha & Fontaine Siblings Hcs

Older Sibling! Kazuha who adopted the Fontaine Siblings
Based off Archon Quest Chapter 4: Chapter 1, 2 and Lyney story Quest
This fic will cover any information about the siblings from Chapter 4 Act 1, 2 and Lyney's Story Quest.
Spoilers for those who haven't completed the first act for the Fontaine Archon Quest.
From the information that I know so far, this will be used for these HCS.
Lyney and Lynette do end up on the streets of Fontaine, instead of meeting that noble who takes them in, it’s Kazuha who was passing by. He picks them up off the streets and gives them shelter for the time being. Instead of meeting Arlecchino, they travel to Teyvat with Kazuha. (Dunno about Freminet's backstory yet so, just pretend he was on the streets too.)
Older Sibling Kazuha who travels with the younger siblings across Teyvat.
Older Sibling Kazuha! Who passes down his fighting style to his younger siblings. Personally I see them training whenever they take small trips away from the Crux.
Older Sibling Kazuha, encourages Lyney’s magician acts and introduces him to other magicians that further expand his interest.
Older sibling Kazuha who has small tea parties with Lynette.
Older Sibling Kazuha who spends time in the ocean with Freminet.
Older sibling Kazuha who helps Lyney with his acts and learns a few tricks from him in return.
Older sibling Kazuha who plays peacemaker between the twins whenever they bicker.
These are just small HCS I have for them Fontaine siblings. I’ll write the full story once I finish the Archon Quest.
Based off a conversation I had with a mutual~
Once again THE STORY WILL BE OUT SOON
I'll put the link to this post when it comes out.

FOR FUCKS SAKE. IF I CATCH ANYONE IK WORKS SOMEWHERE I FCKING SWEAR. Also, this is the MAIN reason why I'm scared to post my actual personal stories anywhere.
🗣️🗣️WRITERS AND FUTURE WRITERS, PLEASE LISTEN UP❗️❗️
i saw a few tiktok videos that was very concerning to me and i decided to share some of the knowledge i got because as a community of people who freely write things about characters, we need to protect our work. i have sadly forgotten the name of the tiktok users but if you guys scroll upon it, please let me know so i can properly credit the people.
GOOGLE DOCS IS NOT SAFE❗️apparently google created this AI that allows them to see your google docs documents, fics, works, whatever is in there, let an actual human read it and have it used in an AI without crediting the original writer. so if you use google docs, please watch out for any suspicious new buttons or notifications asking you about allowing access to your documents
THEY GOT THE AO3 WRITERS AS WELL❗️apparently some thieves i am NOT calling them people because who with moral compass would do this shit? are copying, pasting and printing out popular fanfictions on AO3, binding them, turning them into actual books and selling them on places like Etsy WITHOUT crediting the original authors. which is why we can’t find some certain popular fics or authors on AO3 (credit to tiktok user sakuradarling)
TUMBLR IS SELLING OUR WORK/PROMPTS TO THIRD PARTY WITHOUT CONSENT❗️i think i came across a post or two about it. i think my mutual @livelaughlovesubs has reblogged a post about it. check it out and turn on a switch on your blog settings that prevent this. stay safe and protect your works writers
spread the word everyone, because… genuinely what the fuck?

Next story coming out hehe
Older Sibling! Kazuha & Fontaine Siblings Hcs
Tumblr media

The amount of love and tenderness Venti has for his people makes me sick and disgusted sometimes (affectionate). Like look at him. He's very concerned about her because she's a child of Mondstadt which makes her one of his children and he loves them all very much. Everyone teased him for tagging along with Diona because they believed he was doing it for the alcohol but no. He 100% just wanted to hang out with one of his kids.

if you like Oc stories, here ya go!
Starlight Travels with the 5th Outlander
Original Characters & Liyue characters
Cirrus ( original character)
Rui (Original Character)
"A routine day began for the Teyvat residents. The sun rises, as people scurry to get ready for the day. The city of Trade is ready for new business for the day. Children hurried through the streets, racing to the harbors in hopes of seeing their parents return from their overseas excursions. People waited up for the market, which offered fresh fruit and baked goods.
It was a normal day for everyone except the Millellth guard Rui, who had been ordered to Dunyu Ruins. He takes a quick check at the document he was given.
A unusual purple light appeared around a night ago while he was off duty, before descending near the ruins. He was picked over another guard to conduct the investigation. Rui sighs as he reaches the wreckage left over from years before.
His vision included broken pillars and a moss-covered environment. He continued on, encountering a Hilichurrl camp, some abyss magicians, and a bizarre geo-destroy. Nothing else was amiss. He returned his attention to the area after taking another look at his report.
Everything appears to be in place. He walks about, scrutinizing each area of the ruin for anything unusual. A few treasure chests sat in the back, while boxes were placed near the Hilichurrl encampment.
"This is such a pain," Rui laments, returning to the entrance. This was a huge waste of time. He pocketed the paper and made his way to the exit to return to the city.
A cry of Hilichurrls ruptured from areas of the ruins that he had recently seen.
He pauses, listening for any additional movements. Silence filled his ears until a splash in the water caught his attention.
Rui turns back and follows the footsteps. The person he hunts runs slower than him, most likely due to a lack of exercise endurance. They try to trip him up by going around a different bend. When they reach a dead end, he slowly approaches them.
"Hey!"The person he was chasing came to a halt, frozen. He approaches, drawing out his spear. Their appearance becomes clearer as he gets closer. Round glasses conceal their light pink eyes, pink rabbit ears, and pink hair.  Their appearance was foreign to those from Liyue, nor did they look like a native from any other region. They fully turn to face him with a nervous look.
"̵̢̛̹͈̗͇͖͇̗̮̹͓͊̎͋̓̈́͋͗̒̅̈̋͘͘̕͠͠i̶̦͉͗͒̔̇̍̌̑̉̉̕̕ͅm̸̧̮̦͉̘̜͈̜͕͙̉͆̊̄̆͑̏̂́̕͜͝ ̸̎̉́̀̉͋̽͌~̨̡̠̯̻͍̬̣̟͐̉͛͜ͅs̶̜̦̰͇͈͉͎͋͒͆͐͆͂̄̾̏͊͐̈́̈́̀͘̕̚͝͝ǫ̸͖̠̥͈̻̦͛̐̌͗̾̈́́̅̿̌̓̓͌͘͘r̷͖̘̮͆͐͒̓͑͛̆̎͆́͛̊́̾̚r̶͖̄͗̈̈́̂̈́͂̈́̋͌̈́͒͂̐̇͋͘y̶̛͕̱̱̤͂͗̊͊̀̃̀́̒͛̎̅̀́̀́̕̚?̶̙͓͈̟̙̘̼̭͓͙̼̳̜͖̤̜̪̱̍͛̀̃͛̃̊̎͋"̴̡̫̬͉̳̘̹͖̯̼͙͚̯̾̈́̏̄̔̔̀́͜͜͜ The pink-haired person responds with a confused tone.
The ears move downward as they scan the surrounding, which they land. The guard notices their ears twitching as they glance around. Their gaze fixed on him as they attempted to walk over, but their legs gave way, causing him to collapse to the ground. Rui walks over and examines their suspect. The wound around his waist was bright red. The pink-haired rabbit looked up at him.
"Let's get you back to the city." He carefully brings the rabbit to his feet, where he almost falls, but successfully holds him in a walking stance. "It's a long walk, so we'll take it slow."
Rui returns slowly up the road with the pink-haired rabbit. As they descended, silence enveloped them. He could feel their ears barely brush against his hair as they peered about. He looks at them and then clears his throat.
"How long have you been out here?" The rabbit looks at him via their peripheral vision before speaking. They spoke in an unknown language. Rui's eyes narrow with confusion. The rabbit continues, attempting to translate what they are saying. After a few minutes, no known language from any of the seven countries matched the words.
He cuts them off as they stroll silently once more. Rui pulls them to the side of the road so the rabbit can rest their legs. He gently sits them down and pulls out a notebook. Rui writes down what he's learned thus far. He never figured out how they ended up in Dunyu Ruins.
Rui shrugs, guessing there will be more inquiries later. As he turned to continue, the individual he was helping was gone. He searches his lush surroundings for any traces of them. When Rui hears a bomb go off nearby, he investigates behind any trees but finds nothing. It appears that another adventurer activated another ruin guard.
Rui moves in the direction of the sound.  The rabbit was avoiding the impending bomb assaults from the ruin guard. The flying ruin guard launched another bomb attack, this time targeting the rabbit. The soldier observes the ruin guard and now turns to him. As bombs flew at him, he was designated as a target. He dodges them and draws his bow. He pulls the drawstring back as an arrow pierces the ruin guard's eye and knocks it to the ground. He grabs his spear and wails on the opponents. Soon after, it dies and explodes on itself. Materials fall on the ground, which he picks up.
“You really need to be more careful.” His voice grew stern as he spoke to the rabbit. The rabbit's ears swivel around, sensing the shift in his mood. Tying up his belongings, he takes the rabbit under his arm as they make their way to the city.
They made their way to the harbor after making numerous pauses to camp and ensure that they were not overly tired. Civilians stare as they approach to the pharmacy.
A girl in red passes passes, holding a coupon. Rui sighed as Hu Tao from the funeral parlor approached them. She pulls out some coupons and holds them out to him and the rabbit.
"It's 60% off today for our sale." The soldier ignored her as they passed by. He notices her stare at the rabbit out of the corner of his eye before she walks away.
The cold night air began to settle in, and the bunny began to shake quietly. Sighing, the soldier removes his coat and places it on the rabbit. "Stay warm; we're almost there." The pharmacy appears as they enter, and a purple-haired girl exits. Before entering the pharmacy, the girl casts a glimpse at the rabbit. Rui sat Koda on the ground as he approached the counter. He waited for anybody to approach the counter.
"Hello, and welcome to Bubu Pharmacy." A male with green hair entered the room beside the purple-haired girl. The snake on his neck shifts to the side, peering at the rabbit. Doctor Baizhu examines his new patient, assessing the wounds they have suffered.
"He overworked himself," Changsheng observes as Rui turns towards the bunny. The rabbit gives out a faint scream when the doctor gently presses down on his stomach.
"What was he doing before you found him?" Baizhu writes his condition on a clipboard.
"He fell somewhere in the Dunyu Ruins and was attacked by some ruin guards." The green-haired man nods and gingerly picks up the rabbit.
"Does he have any relatives that you could contact?"
The rabbit spoke in a different language, so he couldn't question him if he tried.
"I'll check with the Ministry." The man nods and guides the rabbit to a cot in the back. The rabbit passes by, giving him an alarmed look, as Baizhu walks him into the rooms in the back.
"A rabbit humanoid being was found in the area where the strange light came from."  "They looked confused, as if they didn't know where they crash-landed." His boss walks around, trying to form inferences in his thoughts. He stops asking more questions.
"Did they tell you who they were and why they were there? "He shook his head.
"They spoke in a foreign language that I couldn't figure out." His employer pauses before removing him from the room.
He worked his way around, asking for any information about the individual he had saved. As he expected, no information appeared at all.
"Who?"
"I never met a person with rabbit ears before."
An outlander crashed into Liyue. Someone who has fallen from the stars and speaks an alien language. He shook his head. Who in the seven nations would believe that?
"They are waking up." Cirrus blinked slowly, attempting to refocus their thoughts. They remember it being a normal day, and next thing they knew, they fell from somewhere high. Cirrus recalls it hurting when they hit the ground hard. They remained motionless until someone who Cirrus assumed to be a soldier found them. He spoke in a weird language that he had never heard before.
The male, whom they presumed was a doctor, gives him a slight smile. He spoke in the same language that the soldier from before spoke in. Cirrus blinks at him, attempting to understand, but to no use. The man gave out a tiny sigh while writing on a clipboard. A snake on his neck communicated with the man before attempting to communicate with him. The snake's speech remained unclear as they attempted various words until one became obvious.
"Can you understand?" The snake talked in words that Cirrus understood. They nod as the snake returns to the foreign language to address the man. Speaking in slow broken sentences, they continued asking him questions.
"Your name?""
“Cirrus.” The snake told the man who addressed him. His name was clear, but the rest of the sentence was tough to comprehend.
"How did you crash land? "The snake interpreted for him.
"I was just at the store; the second I left the store, I crashed into those ruins." The snake translates to the doctor, who raises an eyebrow.
"Is this all? You fell after the store?” He nods as the man and the snake have another conversation, this time in their own language. They look at him briefly before continuing their chat, leaving the rabbit out. The doctor continues to check him before returning to the front.
Cirrus glances around and notices that the room is decorated in the style of an overseas culture. They attempt to sit up, only to wince as they experience pain in their arms and abdomen. They let out a sigh while waiting for the doctor to return.
The doctor and the white snake eventually return to the room to check on him much later. He looks at Cirrus before speaking in that foreign language to them. "He's going to give you medication for your pain." Cirrus nods, allowing the doctor to inject him with a syringe. He pulled the damaged area open while changing the wound dressings.
Cirrus might feel their mind begin to shut down due to the medicine. They felt a surge of panic as they struggled to stay awake. They still don't know these people well at all.
What if something happened to him while he slept? What if they removed their organs? The panic that had risen subsided as sleep overwhelmed him.
After a while, they regain consciousness after what felt like hours. Cirrus blinks lazily, attempting to scan their surroundings. They both fell asleep in the same room. They look around and notice that nothing has changed since they last slept. Despite no longer being in pain, Cirrus struggles to sit up. They examined their wounds to discover that the scar was still present, but there was a lack of blood. There is no way they could heal so quickly. Cirrus was so preoccupied with their thoughts that they didn't notice Baizhu and Changsheng re-enter the room.
"How are you feeling?" the doctor said, using words he understood. The snake gives him a small nod as they wait for Cirrus to respond. The rabbit froze in disbelief, realizing he could now comprehend him. Cirrus began talking quickly in that languageabout everything that led up to the point where they are now. the Doctor could barely understand asking him to slow down.
"I am fine." He responds in the same few sentences. The doctor nodded, reviewing the chart in his palm. "You should be fine now." Cirrus agreed, getting out of bed when he was stopped.
"I have some questions." The rabbit nods and takes their seat. "The soldier said that you f̵̕̚ՃՄ̄̆̃̚՘ՂՑ̅Ձՠ՗Ց̰̣ՙ̧̧̥̰e̶ՠ՝̈ՄՀ̌Օ̳l̸Մ̑՗Մ̃՛̈̏՘̧̪̦͚̦̲̫̐̊l̶̄̑̄Ն̎̒̅Ն̛̄̇̈̚Հ՘Ն̄̎?"
"Uhm." The doctor notices and slows his words for him.
"You fell in ruins, yes?" Cirrus asks as he continues.
"You fell from the stars?" Cirrus appears perplexed, as they only recall free falling from the sky above, not from the stars. He only remembers stepping foot out the store when the next thing that happens is him falling to his death.
"Sightings said you fell." Cirrus nods in response to his questioning. The doctor continues to question him before drawing the questioning to a close.
"That's all for now."
"If you need something, call Baizhu." They look at him blankly until he points to himself. "I am Baizhu." He points to the snake around his neck. "This is Changsheng." Cirrus nods as the doctor exits the room, leaving him in silence again.
"How is he?" Rui inquired when his shift finished. There were no customers, so Baizhu and Qiqi sat on a chair to the side.
"They are fine. Their wounds should be healing; he'll have to stay here for a little while longer." He claims to be correcting the soldier.
"Did you learn anything else about him?" the teal-haired man asks, pulling out the patient list in his hand. "Their name is Cirrus, and they mentioned that they were on a shopping trip before crash-landing in the Dunyu ruins." The soldier gave him a blank expression, anticipating further information.
"That's it?" Baizhu says, as the man groans in frustration. He pauses, recalling what the doctor had stated previously. "Wait, you were able to talk to him?"
"Well, I was able to." Changsheng said, shocking the soldier, who didn't seem to notice her.
"Did the snake just talk?" Baizhu laughs softly, as Changsheng huffs. The snake leans forward towards the soldier. "They don't understand Liyue's language at all, which is probably why they couldn't tell you."
That seems reasonable, given that they were speaking in tongues the last time he saw them.
"So how is anyone else supposed to be able to communicate with the rabbit?"
"The need to learn the language of Liyue." The snake mocks Rui, who agrees and considers who to teach him. Rui sighs internally knowing the Ministry would be having a difficult time trying to question him.
''I see.'' The talk shifts to another topic when he demands to meet Cirrus. Baizhu brings him to the back, where the rabbit is exploring the room. When the door opened, Cirrus sat down quickly. Baizhu sighed as Changsheng chastised the rabbit for his risky behavior.
Cirrus' eyes brighten up with recognition as he speaks to Rui. Rui, as from their previous encounter, cannot understand the bunny. Changsheng interprets to the male, "He says it's good to see you again." Cirrus speaks too quickly for him to understand.
"He asked why you left him with us, so I explained everything to him." Cirrus gives him a small nod. Cirrus tries to get up and walks over to Rui. His ears flapped as he approached to stand by him. "I'm feeling better."
"Yes, but you have to remain here so that we can monitor you."
"Can't I go with him?"
Changsheng confronts him after his remark. "He's asking if he can go with you once he is released." Rui glances at them both, confused. Cirrus isn't his responsibility; he's an outlander passing through. Rui shakes his head at the question that denies him entry. Cirrus' ears fall as he lets out a soft sigh. He hears them say something only the snake and the doctor could understand.
"The ministry wants to see him once he's admitted." Baizhu nods as Rui exits the room. Rui reflected on the scenario with slight displeasure. His mission was to investigate, not to protect an outlander. He returns home for the day; tomorrow, he will learn what the Ministry says about the outlander.

I love my stories so much bro I can't even tell you how much fun I have writing
Hey fanfiction writers: If no one's ever told you this before, it's not just fanfiction.
It's something you spent hours, days, maybe even months on, pouring your heart out onto a page because you were so full of passion and thoughts about a story or characters, you felt like you were going to explode if you didn't get it out. Maybe you lost sleep because your mind was racing with ideas or you forgot to eat or drink water because you were so focused. Maybe your back aches from being hunched over for so long, unmoving. Maybe you even felt like you were going a little feral because you were so excited about what you were creating, or were frustrated when you got stuck. Either way, you put your heart, mind, soul, and body into making something.
It's okay to want people to read it, and it's okay if you're disappointed that they don't or it doesn't get as much of a reaction as you were hoping for. Humans are social creatures. Sure, we write for ourselves, but we also share because the joy of doing so is just as powerful as the joy of the process. Of having created something.
We all experience that joy and that disappointment, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
So it's okay. It's not just fanfiction.

Warnings this is a bit spicy so MDNI+ 18 only, Originally when I wrote it, it wasn't that bad. Now it's kinda on the border. once again.

You grab things from your shared closet with Scaramouche, stuffing them into a duffel bag. You barely have time before he returns home from his service in the military. You hurried to get the rest of your things to make your departure.
The person in question has been neglecting you for work again and has been coming home in between months. Not like you could help it; Scaramouche was a military officer after all.
You made the decision to leave before he returned home because you had had enough. When the door opened, you had already packed everything from that room and were on your way to the front door to get your shoes.
Scaramouche, who just arrived, stops his movements, staring at you in disbelief. His hat, which he wore, was tilting slightly. His eyes met the bag in your hand before meeting your eyes once more.
"I come to see you after forever, and you decide to leave when I just returned home?" He pushes the door open and enters fully. You notice a possessive expression in his eyes as he closes the door behind him.
Your lover gives you his full attention as you let out a small sigh.
“I’m leaving Scaramouche.” He grabs your arm in an iron grip as you attempt to pass by him.
"Leaving where?" His voice grows more upset as he tightens his hold on your arm. He has a look of confusion on his face as you continue.
"You never give me time!"
"I work for the military; you knew this for awhile now." As a Harbinger, Scaramouche was away for months up to a year on end. He makes efforts to convey how much he cares for you by spending as much time with you as he can. Evidently, it wasn't enough. You miss his touch, spending your weekends with him when you weren't working, and his voice as he got upset over something or someone and would grumble. His presence and place in your heart diminished over the course of his absence.
"But I want to see you! You spend all your time at work, and you never seem to care about me." He lets out a sigh of frustration, raising his voice.
"So the gifts that I sent you—the letters—weren't good enough, apparently?" Silence goes through the room as you wring your hands. Scaramouche rolls his eyes forward toward you.
"Just go." He pushes you out the door with your things in hand. He doesn't return a look to you as he exits the area where you stood. You turn to leave when you hear his cry of anger and some dishes breaking. You close the door for the final time, making your way out of the house for the final time.
Hurricane: Are you almost here?
Your phone dings as you receive a text from a certain person.
You: I'll be coming around the corner in a moment.
You walk quicker, clutching the jacket close to your chest. A park and a meeting came to mind as you strode forward into the empty area.
You arrive at the spot where you and the person you were meeting had agreed to meet. A pair of arms were playfully clasping your waist as you waited for the man to arrive.
“Hello there, doll~” A red strand of hair touches your cheek.
"Have you finally dumped that lover of yours?"
"I know, he neglected you, didn't he?'' His words, dripping like honey, wrapped you deeper into his embrace. You became quickly intoxicated and experienced red stars in your eyes due to the cologne he was wearing. Scara wasn't there for you, but Shikanoin Heizou was. Heizou was always spending time with you and always giving you the love that you missed from Scaramouche.
"Good, let’s go.” You followed him into the night and back to his place; your now-ex is now fading into the back of your mind.
As you walked in, you saw a different pair of shoes at the door. Until you noticed a stunning albino looking over at you from the couch, you were puzzled. He smiled at you mischievously as he walked over to greet you.
"Hello there, beautiful." The albino took hold of your hand and kissed it. You laughed as you flushed and turned your head away.
"Now, what do we have here?” Heizou approached and encircled the two of you with his arms. I was unaware that you were seeing him. Guiltily, you looked down, feeling upset by how Heizou might react. A hand raises your chin so you can look into two sets of eyes. Heizou looks amused, while Kazuha gives you a smug look.
“Kazuha doesn’t mind, do you?” He gave the albino a friendly kiss on the cheek. He kissed Heizou in return while shaking his head no.
“Now the question is, are you okay with that?” They both locked their gazes on you as they awaited your consent.
You turn as crimson as the sun at the notion of having two attractive men take their time with you. Nodding, they both let out a small chuckle as they kiss you on the cheeks in response to your reply.
You cover your face from the attention given. Heizou turns you to face him as he leans forward, giving you a passionate kiss. Your face burns as you see Kazuha watch patiently. You didn't expect this to happen when you came over to his place tonight, but it's not too bad.
Heizou's kiss with Kazuha was broken when he made a small noise. Behind your back, they looked at you and nodded. Kazuha drew you repeating the same actions as Heizou. Breaking the kiss, he backs away as both encircle you in a sort of three-way hug. Euphoria took over you as you stare at them both with a hazy smile.
"How adorable." Heizou coos, rocking you to the rhythm of a song only he could hear. The men pepper your face and neck feverishly with small kisses as you moan contentedly.
That evening later, Heizou was seated on the other side of the couch, and you were wedged between Kazuha's arms. They put on some random movie that you don’t know. As much as you attempted to follow the movie, the foggy thoughts prevented you from doing so.
Kazuha kisses your cheek after noticing your wandering thoughts. You turned to him, making him kiss you instead.
Heizou snickers while watching both of you. The music in the background was changed to something more sensual as Kazuha pushed you further back so he was on top of you. He pulled away for a minute, making you see red.
“This is okay, right?” You nod as he continues sucking on your neck. Heizou was going to join when the door rang. Stopping, Kazuha sat up, still leaning on you, while Heizou went to check the door.
"Scaramouche, what are you doing here?” When Heizou mentioned your ex, you froze and attempted to get up. Unfortunately, the albino continued to cling to you, preventing you from running away.
"Can I come in? I need to talk?" As Heizou turned, he fixed his gaze on Kazuha and you from behind. You shook your head in fear, making Heizou grin. You glare, trying to intimidate the redhead to no avail.
"Of course you can come to Scaramouche."
The moment you were confined to the couch, you heard your ex's footsteps stop next to you. Kazuha offered a faint smile as he gazed up at him.
“Hello.” The harbinger scowled and gave you a hurt expression on his face.
“You left me for Heizou and Kazuha.” When you were interrupted again, you started stuttering and shaking your head.
"Of course!" Our lovely Y/N ran to me in tears and informed me that they came in search of someone else because you ignored them." He laughed as his jade eyes darkened at your dilemma. He acts like he wasn't part of this situation at all. Kazuha lets go and moves over to where Heizou is standing.
“Heizou!” He looked back at Scaramouche and shrugged.
"You were mistaken, Y/N." He wrapped his finger in a strand of your hair and spun it. "I really do adore you, and I’d like to show you if you’re alright with that.”
The other two nodded as he turned to face them. Scaramouche came up to you, encircling his arms around you as Kazuha let go of you. All three face you, awaiting your answer.
“Is that okay Y/N?"

Hi y'all....it's been a while. I've had a lot happen the past year and that's kinda why I'm posting right now...mostly asking for help or even to share this, but I'm financially struggling heavily to the point where I had no choice but to make a gofundme. Please feel free to take a look. You don't have to donate, but even if you could share it...it would mean a lot to me.

"Shall we?"
Neuvillette x Reader
2k+
Multiple things inspired me when I was writing this.
I hope you Enjoy!
Moon Eclispe obviously is not a real Fontaine event. It's just my excuse to write Neuvi and you dancing at a ball.
Tumblr media
The Moonlit Eclipse, a former ball given for the Hydro Archon and her people to commemorate the fall season, was approaching. Things were busier in the Hydro country.
Shops were packed with customers, while melusines and other decorations adorned the streets. Lady Furina travels to the streets, giving little speeches to her people to get them excited for the event. She performs a tiny twirl, which elicits excitement from the spectators.
The ball was a tremendously popular event that everyone wanted to attend, but getting inside was tough for anyone who wasn't noble. Popular Fontaine and paparazzi figures had an easier time attending the event.
Middle- and lower-class people like yourself needed an invitation to even be permitted inside.
Your position as a ticket attendant at the Opera Eclaisse was going well. Given the increased amount of people you've been dealing with, today's trial appears to be quite popular. The salary was good, and the atmosphere was often chaotic, but Monsieur Neuvillette always made sure you and your coworkers were safe. You sighed softly, hoping that nothing goes wrong today.
"Hello, ticket for two?" A foreign couple comes up with funds for the latest trail. They take in the Opera House with astonishment.
"First time here?" They nod as you proceed. "This is the Court House, often called the Opera House. Monsieur Neuvillette and Lady Furina have their troubles here." You react by, giving them their change and tickets.
"Expect a bit of chaos, have a good day." You wave them away as they approach the door, until they notice a criminal being led out of the house near the other exit. He attempted to flee, but was apprehended and held once more. The couple next to you leaps and immediately enters the house.
Monsieur Neuvillette steps in for the next trial, past the man being led out. He passes you by just a single glance, surrounded by a pink aura. As he walks into the entryway where you work, his long white and blue hair sways in without a gust of wind. You gave a  smile as you watched him pass you.
His expression changed today, and he appeared to be nearly happy. As you immediately attended to the next customer, a tap on your window disrupted the image.
As you exited the Opera House, the sky was painted in orange. The bell tower in the distance is chiming, signaling the upcoming hour. You stroll outside, exiting just as the bell rings its final chime.
A gathering of people gathered near the fountain to cheer for someone. Fontaine's famed magician performed for the audience, pulling a few items from his hat. It appears that Lyney and Lynette's troupe performed tonight. Squeezing through, you make your way to the ferry back to the city.
"So what are you planning on wearing to the ball?" As you waited for the ferry, a group of girls dressed in elegant attire chatted nearby.
"I want to wear a pink dress with those pearls." Another girl scoffs, suggesting that her attire will resemble that one. A little quarrel breaks out as the girls begin insulting each other loudly.
A few spectators glared them down, but everyone else seemed to ignore them. Things became more severe as one girl was thrust into you. She turns with a humble expression until she scoffs seeing your attire. "Honestly, commoner, pick yourself off the ground; you will look pathetic." The others join in, laughing and shaming you even more.
"Sorry, ma'am, but you ran into me.” You brought up their fight only a few moments ago. One girl's arrogant smirk faded into an ugly frown, wrinkling her brow. She approaches with a pocketbook in her hand, her voice increasing.
"Do you dare to speak back to me? You are nothing but a lousy commoner." She starts swinging and smacks you in the head. Wincing, you try to get away from her, only to return the wrong way, falling into the sea.
Your uniform and hair were immediately ruined, much to your dismay. "Haha, you really needed a swim." The other burst out laughing as you swam your belongings to the platform.
Grab your belongings first, then swim back for your cap. After getting them back to shore, you noticed something was missing: your wallet. Looking around, you see it just underwater.
You dive down and grab it, unaware of the incoming aquabus. As you emerge from the water, your face comes into contact with the approaching boat before you can fully think. Pushing you back towards the platform, squeezed you until you were hauled out of the water by the approaching bus. You were gently placed back on the ground as Elphane raced off the aquabuscar to investigate.
"I am so sorry." The purple melusine bowed profusely to you as they checked over your injuries.
"Please, board, let me take you to the hospital." "Ah, Monsieur Neuvillete, do you plan to return to the city as well?"
Is he here?
Monsieur Neuvillette attends to your injuries while Elphane ensures the boat is still operational. He assists you in carefully standing as she turns the boat right, allowing you both to embark.
"Uhm, Monsieur, I can stand now." He releases go, letting you stand. He looks at your figure before backing off.
"Uhm, you can enter now." The melusine stands at the top of the stairs before returning to position. You nod and swiftly find a seat toward the back of the steps. Monsieur Neuvillette is seated across from you. As the boat takes off, you stare out into the water.
You then sit silently as Elphane begins to speak. She asks if your trip went okay, only to receive an uncomfortable silence before moving on to another issue. You stare at your hands, embarrassed by what happened before.
"Uhm, I apologize if I made you awkward." He looks over at you.
"No, no, it's my fault for falling into the tract like that." You just wanted to curl up up somewhere where they couldn't see you. If Iudex noticed, he probably decided not to remark at all. Elphane continues her brief conversations as the boat glides back toward the court.
You hurriedly leave the dock and return home. You didn't hear anything else from the Iudex as you walked through the city towards your house.
In the days that followed, your routine continued as usual. Since Monsieur Neuvillette's schedule appears to be slightly modified. Now at work in the Opera Eclaisse, you see less of him. The people in today's trial  appeared to be less full than normal. Due to those reasons, your task began to slow down after a few hours. During that time, you were tasked with cleaning the windows and entrance. You clean the windows and sweep the floor at the entrance to Opera Eclaisse.
People in the courtroom could be heard whispering and twisting their words. AYou continue your duty until you hear Monsieur's voice calling the courtroom to order. You started blushing as you remembered how you embarrassed yourself in front of him and the Melusine tour leader the other day. You hope not to come across him again anytime soon.
As the day's final trial comes to a close, the day gradually fades into night. You wait for everyone to leave the courthouse before carrying out other responsibilities. You work intently on your tasks as someone descends the stairs. As you look up from your task, high-heeled boots come to a stop next to you.
"Oh, you're working late tonight." The man you were hoping to avoid stopped next to you.
"Ah, greetings, Monsieur Neuvillette." You keep your gaze fixed on the floor, determined not to make another mistake in front of him.
"One of my coworkers got sick, and he asked me to take over his shift, as there was no one else to cover it today." He nods, inspecting the items in your palm. As the conversation grows silent, you stroll over and put them away.
"Is there something that I can do for you, Iudex?"
"Are you attending the moon eclipse?" You stare at him puzzled; certainly he was aware that this event was not open to people of your status, right?
"Monsieur Neuvillette, someone of my status isn't allowed into the ball without an invitation."
"It's a ball for those with higher social standing to attend. Someone like me doesn't have any space there at all." You speak while still completing your responsibilities so that you can look up and return home. The Iudex stands there, watching your movements. When you realized he was tracking you, your movements became more robotic. Why was Monseiur still standing there? You gave him an answer.
"Would you like to attend?" You halt, staring at him with wide eyes. He glances back at you, waiting for your response.
"I'm not against it." He nods as he approaches the Opera Eclaisse's front doors. You shrug, lock the booth, and walk home more slowly than normal.
The night arrived as you prepared for the ball. A letter came in the day before with a gift for you, and a ticket for admission. Monsieur Neuvillette telling you keep the mask with you, should anyone deny you entrance.
You chose your best clothing and made any necessary modifications before picking up the mask that came with your admittance. The mask was the same color as Iudex's hair. You hold the mask up to your face. The mask suprisingly complemented the color of the clothing. You take small, deep breaths to relieve your nervousness before exiting into the night.
"Welcome to the Moon Eclipse." One of the men in charge of the ceremony addressed the audience of aristocrats. You could see upper-class women conversing with one another, and Monsieur Neuvillette himself standing at the front of the gathering, cane in hand. The speaker finishes his statement as music starts playing.
You pick up your dress and go far from the nobles whom were dancing. You keep your head down to avoid drawing attention as you make your way to the balcony.
"Oh, I don't believe that we have had the pleasure of meeting." A man dressed in expensive garments approaches you.
"I am Duke Myris, and you are?" He makes a slight bow before reaching out his hand to you.
"Nice to meet you." You bow to the noble and give him your name. He gives a slight nod before frowning at you.
"Name.. I don't think I've heard of you. Are you a child in the house of (insert name)?" You shake your head as his face shifts to a smug one.
"So a commoner at the Moon Eclipse." His words drew the attention of the noble women around.
"A commoner?"
"Who invited them?"
"They could have stolen an invitation; it's fitting of them to do that."
The women and other nobility slowed the music, focusing their attention on you. Sneers and critical looks were sent your way.
"I was invited." He gave a tiny laugh as the women laughed behind their fans. Your shoulders stiffened as you attempted to prove your worth here. The truth is, you are aware that you do not belong, but you should enjoy it. Monsieur Neuvillette had personally invited you, after all.
The lords and ladies' laughter halted as the man you were thinking about reached you.
"Hello, is there any issue with the person that I invited?" You push the mask closer to your face while the others gaze on in shock. Monsieur Neuvillette approaches, donning an outfit more formally than he usually does. The mask he wore matched the clothing you wore. Seeing the connections, the nobility who mocked you apologized profusely before retreating.
"Good evening, monsieur." You bow to him out of respect.
"Good evening, I see you managed to make it." You gave a slight nod, grasping the end of the mask that was held up near your face.
"Thank you for inviting me, Monsieur Neuvillette." You were ready to walk away when he extended a hand toward you.
"May I request your permission to dance with you?" You swallow anxiously and accept his hand. As you start swaying, the music begins to play. A wave of happiness seized control, and a grin rose to your face. He whirls you around, and you followed in harmony. As you dance, your inner mind screamed with joy. You attempted to calm your heart, thinking he wouldn't hear it. He focuses on the waltz, seemingly not hearing it; the music stops as he dips you.
Silence consumes the room before erupting in cheers. You look up at the Iudex, the mask taken away from your face. His blue eyes stare down at you as he gently lifts you back up.
